Even if you could lay bark mulch in perfect circles or borders, it would soon look ragged or need replenshing. These mulch mats always look crisp, because they can't be scattered.

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

I use this to edge my flower beds (islands in lawn). I've tried pound-in edging, ditching, and mulch, but the grass always invades, and my husband doesn't know where he can mow, so I end up doing lots of hand trimming. Now, he can set the mower wheel on the edge-border, and get all the grass in one pass!

We have a serpentine garden in our yard and this edging allows us to follow the contour of the garden easily. I mow with one wheel on the edging, giving a clean cut eliminating the need to trim.

The backing was very difficult to remove. The product will not lay flat even a year later. It does look neat and weeds are blocked.

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

I used it along the border of fence and neighbors driveway to control the weeds.
I also used between the fence and lawn area so that we didn't have weed too close to our vinyl fence.

The only problem I had was cutting it to fit around the fence posts. It is so strong that it's really hard to cut. I also was about 2 ft short in one area and wish I could buy this product in shorter lengths.

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

We used this edging around a very large flower bed so we could mow right up to the mulch-line! It is terrific. Our riding mower doesn't even budge this edging so we don't have to weed-eat around it. We love this edging.

Didn't perform like I expected. Hard to install around curves, doesn't lay flat, ends curl up, hardy weeds grow through.

Very sturdy and easy to place. Center of roll was too curled and hard to keep down. Makes great edging for areas like under a chain link fence.

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

Recycelded tire mulch really works as a straight mulch that a lawn mower goes right over-no weed wacd=ker necessary! However, I am not sure how to cut the product to go around curves as claimed in the catalogue.

    Great Addition
By JackieVerified Purchaser from Media,PA on 7/9/2008
    Pros:
    Durable, Good Value, High Quality
    Cons:
Hard to cut, Hard to fit on curves, Needs to be staked
    Best Uses:
    Use as a boarder
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

The description did not say that stakes would be needed, but the sections would not stay down without them. When I put them around my flower bed, I had to cut and clip the sections to make them fit. They were very hard to cut and the stakes were hard to push through. I gave it a high mark because they really did make the yard look great and I haven't had to use my edger in any of the areas where they were applied.

This is a neat gardener's delight
By HankVerified Purchaser from Bel Air, MD on 7/9/2008
    Pros:

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

The recycled rubber edge border is very durable, can be used over and over if you decide to move a border and lasts forever. But plants like loriapy will eventually grow right through it.

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

I installed this as a border edge around my flower beds so that I can run the rechargeable battery lawn mower wheels right up onto the recycled rubber border for a clean cut with no weedeating necessary! It was very easy to install -- just roll out and hammer through with a couple of landscape pins. I like that it's made from recycled rubber and helped keep a few tires out of the landfill by putting them in my frontyard and saving me weedeating work to boot!

By KathyVerified Purchaser from Brookfield, CT on 7/8/2008
    Pros:
    Durable, High Quality
    Cons:
    Expensive
    Best Uses:
    Under deer fencing
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about 5-1/2" Recycled Rubber Edge Border:

I use this under deer netting that crosses lawn area. I laid it on top of the grass after killing the grass with glyphosate. Now my husband can mow right up to the edging and does not have to weed whack there any longer. He's a happy camper. I would use this product around all my beds, but it is a bit too expensive to cover all that footage.
