I hung two in areas that had wasp nests before. There were a couple of small nests started but I haven't noticed a lot of activity so maybe will work. But the decoys are bigger than any real nest I've ever seen, I don't know how it can seem real to the wasps! They also don't secure firmly, they kind of swing around in the breeze, which a real nest wouldn't do. We'll see by the end of the summer how well they work.

This an update to my post from April. I have had the new ones up for about two months. They are really effective. I still see some wasps but they are not in my play yard mulch. Also we had a wasp who insisted on making a nest in between my front door and my storm door. We were chasing it away every day. Once I put up the new deterrents she moved on.

I put it up one day, and the next I found it in my neighbor's trash can. Actually my neighbor found it lying in the street. I thought it would hold up to windy days (not a gusty wind, mind you), but I was wrong. It ripped easily. I do have a second one and will try it. However, the material is just paper. I would rather they'd send me one and have it made from nylon. I would even pay more if it worked.

When we bought our house a little over a month ago, I noticed a few wasps flying around the garage area and saw an old wasps nest. Since I really want to spend a lot of time in my yard I thought, what the heck, I'll try these things. Well, they have worked out perfectly. No wasps nesting around here. I've plagued by wasps for years, they've built their nests in the eaves of my barn and house, and I've tried many products to get rid of them. I hung up 2 of these wasp deterents and they really work! There is an occasional wasp who flies through my little farm, but they just keeping going, no nests anywhere. I bought these to use on our back (covered) patio & since hanging both of them we haven't seen a wasp hanging around - will be great when we hold our family reunion this weekend! I suppose if we get sidewise rain I'll take them down, but in our dry climate here in Colorado it hasn't been an issue yet.

Plan to take them down over the winter & re-hang next year. If effectiveness goes down, I'll try hanging them in different spots. LOVE the fact that they look like lanterns, too. Much easier & more efffective than the sugar water glass jars I've used in the past.

I am allergic to wasps so I purchases a pair last year and they worked so good, it was the 1st time in years that I actually enjoyed my deck and patio. I wasn't sure what to expect with these "nests". I like that there are 2 in an order. I have one hanging underneath my children's covered sandbox and another one near the patio. So far I have seen a decrease in wasps flying around or through our patio area. I hope this trends continues throughout the summer.

I wasn't expecting much from this, but it works. I always have wasps buzzing about my back door, so I hung one of these inside the window where it would stay dry. I didn't see any wasps until I moved it to a different spot. I'm having construction done and the work area was completely open and the rafters exposed. I hung one of these up and have only seen 1 wasp. It looks a lot like a camouflage Chinese lantern. I wish it were made of something waterproof. Too bad it doesn't work on mosquitoes.

I live rurally in the woods and there seem to be many wasps here due to no spraying. I hung the artificial nest near the eaves of my house where a rather large wasp nest had been growing. Soon afterward all activity on this nest stopped, and I thought, "Great, it works!" Just yesterday, however, I noticed 2 new wasp nests being constructed under the eaves even closer to where I hung the artificaial nest, so I am no longer convinced it works.

I got these after getting fed up with all the yellow jackets near our deck. I hung it in a protected area like the instructions said and after two dry days w/out rain I looked outside to see that the wire spiral inside had completely unwound and the paper "nest" was in a useless heap on the ground. Very disappointing!!

i hung one of these by my back door, under awning to protect from weather. i had seen yellow jackets and knew they had a nest there last year. i had sprayed, but they were back. while i was hanging it, i found this years nest. within a day they had evacuated the nest and were trying the front of the house. i hung the 2nd one in the front and haven't seen any since. i'm very pleased with this product.

These are very easy to put up and do work to keep away other wasps. You will still see some bees if you have flowering plants around though. I wish they were made with a little heavier material so that they would last longer. The instructions say to keep them out of rain, but this is cumbersome to take them up and down everytime it rains.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this product works! We're using it on our deck where we often spend time. We noticed that wasps were staying away the same week we hung it. We love to use our front porch but were always inundated with wasps and bees. They formed nests all over the place. Sprays worked but that isn't good for the environment. I've pondered this product for years and decided if it didn't work that I hadn't waisted that much money.
When I first put two of these up there were a few wasps trying to start a new nest. They left within minutes! Every now and then a wasp or bee will investigate but they move on eventually. This is a wonderful product and I highly recommend it to anyone who is environmentally savvy.

We had a number of wasps trying to build nests around our home and this fake wasp nest solved the problem. I gave the second one to my sister for her deck and she hasn't seen a wasp since either. Great product!

We used to have many wasps entering the perforated soffit around our home. They were particularly bad in the areas over our deck. We have used the hornet nest look-alike for the last two years and it has totally discouraged the wasps. Great idea and product.

Pleasantly surprised..I bought these out of desperation.. I read they do not do well in the rain, so I sprayed them with a matte polyurethane and they have been out in many a rain storm with rain sometimes constant for days..they look good as knew. I don't see any sign of wasps so far...

Although it is still early in the season, this wasp deterent seems to do what it says. Because it has been such a warm early spring, I have seen a variety of insects throughout my yard. In past years, wasps have annually shown interest in nesting in the eaves and shingles above my kitchen door. I have tried a number of deterents and have had to resort to sprays in order to use the door. So far, I have not seen one wasp in the doorway area, although I have seen them elsewhere in the yard. This appears to be an environmentally effective way to handle this problem.

Every day I would notice at least 3 wasps in my family room. Since my family room is right next to the sunroom and deck I watched for outside wasp activity where they were busy flying back and forth. I saw the Gardener magazine ad and was skeptical but worth a try. I put three together (along with my can of wasp spray) and placed them on the deck (near the kitchen exhaust vent), under the deck, and under the sunroom. I've watched as the wasps approach and turn around. They truly appear confused and leave. I have had no wasps in my home since I hung the Natural Wasp Deterent one-and-a-half months ago.

This product is wonderful. We were getting started on our garden and the wasps started circling. I had one of these in the house that we immediately hung in our tree and the wasps took off and haven't come back. They are lightweight so if it is windy like here in Texas better get an extra pack!

We have had problems with wasp and hornet nests over the last few years. We tried these last year and they worked great-no more wasp and hornet problems! The only down side is that they don't last, so you need to replace them each year, but they are worth it-I'm reordering them this year

We live in south Texas and hung one of our Get Lost Wasp near our back door and the other one near a shed in the back yard. It has been there for almost 2 years and we haven't seen any nests. We have a ton of mulch in our play yard. I bought this to deter the wasps. It seemed to work last year but it may have been that, by the time I put them up, most of their gathering was done. This is a very effective product. It works as advertised. We put up a couple of these around our back patio and almost immediately the wasps disappeared and stayed away. Every once and awhile you might see one investigate the area, but they never made that area home. It's constructed from very light paper like material and blows in the wind easily. Because of that, it doesn't last long if it hits other objects repeatedly. I think excessive exposure to the rain degrades the paper as well. It would also be a good idea to take it down and put it in a dry place when fall comes and put it back out in spring. You might get close to two years out of it. The bottom line is, for the cost of this item if you have to replace it once a year, it's not a bad deal. What's the value of not getting attacked and stung by territorial wasps?

We used two last year hanging them just under the eaves. They didn't fall apart and they deterred the wasps. We'll put them up again this year but are ordering more to place all around the house. With the fake nest our deck was almost wasp-free compared to previous years. No nasty smelly toxic chemicals. The fake nests collapse for storage until next season.

These need to be hung in a dry place that is out of the weather or they tear up from the wind, etc. I hung one in the barn and it really cut out the wasps flying around. I'm going to hang one in the garage, sun room, and back porch where wasps somehow get in. I also have a storage building with a high wasp population. I will let you know how it does.

After having been stung several times early this summer, I decided to try this item. I put two in our cedar shed and voila, the wasps disappeared. I did follow the directions carefully, however, and sprayed the perimeter of the shed before I hung these up. It has been over three months now and absolutely no wasps have dared to show their faces!

I hung one immitation wast nest in the front of my front porch where I had experienced numerous wasp nests in the past. I had to wait these few months to make sure it was working and it is. I bought these because of the reviews saying it worked. I didn't want to spray insecticide in my turtle garden. But, these haven't done anything. I still have wasps flying around. I even see wasps LANDING ON these things. And, being the biologist, it makes sense. Insects like these have eyes that see differently than we do. They probably don't even notice that these are supposed to look like wasp nests.

Assembly is easy, then just hang it up. Need to keep it from getting wet because it's made of paper. If it was made from a thin plastic that looked like paper that would be great, then you could hang it anywhere.

We are inundated with yellowjackets here but the artificial wasp nest seems to deter yellowjackets more than anything else I've tried in the last 35 years! We hung one of the natural wasp deterrents under the porch by our back door and so far I am impressed with it. Last year we couldn't sit out on our deck to eat or drink because wasps came and landed on the table, on our plates it was awful. This year a completely different story - no wasps. One caveat this deterrent is made of paper and therefore not waterproof so hang it somewhere sheltered.

I have a problem with wasps building nests in my garage right above the overhead door opening. This product has deterred their nest building activity by making them think that the territory is already taken. Only thing that is not great is the fragility of the product. If not secured properly, the paper construction does not hold up to being tossed around.

The only downside of this wonderful little invention is the paper construction. However, a "real wasp's nest" is contructed of a paper-like substance which goes to the product's authenticity. It has so far withstood some severe rain storms unscathed.
Since installing it under the overhangs of both my apt's front porch & rear balconies I have been wasp & similar insect free!! Previous warm seasons have been plagued with both wasps, bees & hornets.

We hung one under our patio cover and one in our RV storage building and haven't had any nests. We've seen several wasps fly by, but none linger or begin nest building. I'm allergic to wasp stings so this product has taken away the worry when I am outside and see a wasp. It's very lightweight.

It works great. I can't comment on how long it lasts but so far it's been two months and haven't seen one wasp. We used to have them constantly. Even if it only lasts one season it will so be worth it. I'm sure I spent more than $25 last year on wasp spray.

I was skeptical but took a chance because this product was inexpensive. It really works! Hornets appeared frequently on my porch, which faces a large perennial garden. Since hanging the fake nest 2 weeks ago, no hornets or other bugs have appeared. Yes, it is like a paper lantern, but it is unobtrusive-looking and has lasted through several rainstorms on my covered porch.

Could be a coincidence, however, last year we had yellow jackets that kept our large gold finch population from using our finch feeder. Early this spring carpenter bees were back at our deck. After placing the "wasp deterrent" under our deck in late May, I haven't seen a wasp or bee since!

This is the third year that I have purchased this product. I usually get more than one package of two as it is not rain resistant and I'm not always around to remove during rain. However, it is a great investment and it has allowed my family to enjoy our yard and pool so much more.

These are great all you do is put them together and hang them. We gave the second one to my daughter and her deck and yard are also mostly free of wasp. Every now and then we get a stray but they don't stay around long.

Truly amazing! Our screened porch is now wasp
and bee free since hanging the imitation wasp nest. We hung it under the eave outside the porch. I hung the second nest under the eave of the potting shed which was another hot spot for wasps, and they are gone.

I put one of the wasp deterrents under the eaves--did see a wasp or two flying around after that, but nothing has built yet (only had it up about a week). The rains have come, and that didn't do the fake nest any good, so I moved it to right inside the garage--at least will hopefully keep the pests from coming inside.

I was skeptical about this product, but willing to give it a try as my small son is very allergic to stings. To my surprise this did exactly what it claimed to do. We have had a huge reduction in the amount of wasps around our backyard and no nests. I would recommend this product, just make sure to hang it in a dry spot.

I've positioned the faux wasps nests around my shed & so far there are no live wasps making nests this year, so I guess it's working. However, since the product is made from paper, I'm not sure if it will last outdoors for the whole season.

I am very allergic to wasp stings, and though we will use these on the porch in a protected area, they are not at all useful in the rest of the area to be covered.

To make my life more secure, we have had to purchase another brand of wasp deterrent nest that does withstand the weather.

We have a hornet problem in this issue. This fake nest really does keep hornets from nesting near by. They are very territorial. The earlier model fell apart after one season, but now I take them in for the winter and use again.

This product worked so well last year, I had to reorder this year. I live in a mobile home and the wasps would gather under the edging at the roof and wander onto my porch. Hung this and had nary a one come on the porch. Works great.

It worked immediately, mainly because it was hung the moment the carpenter bees started to buz around our door. They arive the same time every season.

The one flaw is that you must bring the "nest" in when it rains. Seems the product has to return to the drawing board. But none-the-les, it is a brilliant concept.

Well, I'll be! We had a terrible time with wasps inside our home. I hung one of these right up near the ceiling in the loft. A week later, no wasps! Put one on a screened porch, where we were swatting five or six wasps a day. A week later, I saw only one wasp! We'll see what the results are over the summer but, for now, these wasp deterrents really seem to work!

After a year of wasps building nests near man doors, we tried one Natural Wasp Deterrent. Our neighbors saw it so I gave them the second one. Both of us were wasp free that summer.

Ours blew away before we were able to take it down for the winter so I placed another order.

I have a major paper wasp problem at my apartment complex so I was ready to try anything. There are so many swarming around my balcony that it makes it hard to sit outside or garden. Great product!! We hung two (about 25' apart) from the eaves of the house at our patio, saw no nests last summer and almost no wasps or bees around the area. Weather causes the paper to deteriorate over a period of time, so I'm ordering two more today for this summer. In a sheltered area they would probably last for several years. One of the two went to the front porch; the other went to the off-bedroom deck. Both had been unused because of wasps. Within two days there were no more wasps, and they have not returned. This "natural wasp deterrent" not only didn't deter the wasps, but the tension in the interior frame wire was so much that it has already ripped the bottom ring out. These are nothing better than decorations.

While the catalog states this item should be hung in a protected area, it really understates the difficulties with placement of this item. It is absolutely ruined after a rain, or if caught in wind, and since it has to be placed at six feet or above, can be difficult to remove quickly if necessary. Easy to use and no chemicals to pollute the yard. Visitors may think it is a real nest till you tell them. Second year of using this product. First year very effective, this year had a wasp start a nest very close to one fake nest I hung up. Still would use the product since three out of four are working! Pretty good wasp deterrent. We bought four to hang on each side of the house, and for the high-wasp area where we live, only saw one wasp nest being built. The imitation wasp nests aren't too bad looking and are easy to assemble. Be careful that you secure each nest on its hanger and knot it well, because they will fly away on a windy day. And since they're not water-proof, they will indeed spoil quickly in rain as the packaging says. I'd love to see this product somehow be weather-proofed!

That's right...this wasp deterrent is so appealing to the local paper wasps, that it now contains a productive hive (baseball size)! The neighbors are entertained. The wasps have a safe home and are no longer building their hives under the patio chairs. So...hey, I guess it has served a purpose. I was very pleased with this product. Before hanging this, I took down three nests. After, I took down ONE, and that was after a number of weeks. There were a lot fewer wasps around the house, too.

I purchased the glass wasp trap at the same time, but I never had to use it. I am very, very happy with the fake nest. Just don't get it wet.

We live in a windy area so had to fasten nest very securely. Attaching it to a hook was not sufficient -- it blew off. We retrieved it!

I really wanted this to be a permant object in my backyard. It got a light rain and the paper got tissue like and fell apart. The spring casing pushed the support apart.
