Use soft, no-tangle Bird Netting to protect your fruit trees and vegetable garden from bird damage. The tough poly mesh is fine enough to keep birds out, yet it allows good air circulation.

It's pretty easy to put on your two-tiered raised bed garden and it does keep the birds out. It does tend to stick to athletic shoes, so it needs to be cut to size.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Nets are the only way to keep the birds out long enough for the fruit to ripen.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Being new to raising strawberries I didn't realize that chipmucks and birds would eat my crop. After installing the netting on a raised bed garden I am now enjoying the fruits of my labor. Somewhat of a hassel to get in and out of the bed but worth the effort.
Comments about Bird Netting:
this netting worked great for a time. the hang over netting was too close to the grass cutting area, thus it was whipped up by the mower blades. so will be ordering another one. phil
Comments about Bird Netting:
Use of the top of a small fenced in tomato garden to keep crows from ruining prize tomatoes, as they have have in past years and to keep birds from picking my new blueberry bushes clean.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Bought to cover my fig tree to avoid birds eating ripe fruit before me. Too early to tell if it will work or not. It doesn't seem very much different from netting I have bought at [...] for much less. If it works, I won't mind having spent the money. If it doesn't, I'll be sad.
Comments about Bird Netting:
We use this product to protect our garden and blueberry bushes from the deer and the birds. It does a great job and we can finally relax and know that our hard work will not be eatened up by the animals. The netting is also easy to store and maintain. Previously we had a larger net (2-3 years ago) which we still use but when we expanded our garden we needed more netting so we knew where to get it having had such a good experince with this netting in the past.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use this product to protect strawberries
Comments about Bird Netting:
I wanted to protect my grapes from the birds, but didn't want to harm the plants or wild life. It worked like a charm!
Comments about Bird Netting:
We used this netting for our bluberry bushes. It has smaller mesh than most and keeps the birds out better. It also does not tangle so readily.
Comments about Bird Netting:
In our first attempt at raised-bed vegetable gardening, we needed to keep out back yard pests: bunnies, squirrels and birds. A short, staked chicken wire enclosure took care of the four-legged. A nice 14-foot square piece of your bird netting clothespinned neatly across the wire enclosure allows in the sun, but has kept out our feathered friends very nicely.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I am using this over one of the GSC self watering containers for parsley and strawberries. This netting keeps out the bunnies and birds. Perfect because most of the time you can't even see it and easy to still get the berries. It was a bit puzzling how to get it to stay arched over the container to allow the plants vertical growth room. I need to look into the hoops that are available on the site :)

Comments about Bird Netting:
Hard to cut into the appropriate size pieces for my container garden. Also, plants tend to poke through the holes. Worked well for the garlic to keep the chipmunk out. Didn't work as well for strawberries.
Comments about Bird Netting:
The bird netting is lighter constructed than the net I aleady have. It appears to be strong and should let the light through. It will be used next year to cover strawberries and blueberries.
Comments about Bird Netting:
It saved my pears!
Comments about Bird Netting:
I have two huge raised strawberry beds and had to finally break down and purchase netting to keep the birds, chipmunks, and bunnies out. The netting is semi-obnoxious to unravel and cut because it's springy. Once I cut it into the sizes I needed, it was easy to staple to posts around the beds. I haven't had any animal problems at all this year.
Comments about Bird Netting:
This netting has been very useful to keep my chickens from my garden. I also use it in a portable pen area to keep the ospreys and hawks from attacking the chickens. A very multi-use item

Works best with some kind of frame-I used PVC pipe. If you drape it over the plants it gets tangled up in stems and is hard to remove.

This is a great product! And now I don't have to share my figs with marauding birds. They heckled me for two or so days after I installed the netting each time I went out to pick my figs but finally, they gave up with their chattering and threatened dive-bombing! The first day I found a harmless black racer snake had hung himself in the net. Unfortunately, the critter had tried to enter my private domain slithering under the netting, climbed up the net and got tangled. He was a harmless victim so I felt a little bad at his demise. Otherwise, all is well and my family is enjoying the most delicious fresh figs daily without their ripest centers being beaked out by those voracious birds. [...]You saved the day for me!
Comments about Bird Netting:
the netting is nice but not for blueberries.Larger fruits like strawberries it works fine.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I wanted to make sure I get the blueberries instead of the birds. The bushes were just put in three years ago, so I want all the berries I can get!!!
Comments about Bird Netting:
I purchased the netting to protect my beginning garden from raccoons and deer. I wasn't sure if it would work as it is not marketed for that purpose. But, no critters have dug up my garden and I don't have to keep covering it up every night. It fits nicely over my raised bed and stakes easily into the ground.

Comments about Bird Netting:
The good news is that it is almost invisible, the bad news is it almost invisible and thus hard to see making it hard to work with, and especially to cut.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Light weight and squirrel and bird proof. It did catch on the tomato cage very easily when trying to cover plant and cage. Once in place, it is extremely effective.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Protect our vegetable garden from birds
Comments about Bird Netting:
I installed it under my carport and covered patio to keep the sparrows from roosting up under the roof and making a mess. It was really funny the first evening when they thought they were going to get up there for the night. I love birds but not them. I think I have enough left over to put around my chicken enclosure to keep the starlings from the chicken feed.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Love this product and the pop-up netting which were as described (another bonus for gardners.com). My berries have fruited and the birds have not eaten them this year!! :)
Comments about Bird Netting:
This product works great. My strawberries are thriving this year and the birds are leaving them alone...
Comments about Bird Netting:
great product. works well, but easy to get tangled in.

Comments about Bird Netting:
A novel use of this netting: I wanted my old, sweet cat to be able to go out on the deck and under the deck without being able to leave and start visiting dogs in neighboring yards, thinking "why don't we all just get along" (he did it before and got bitten). We do have fencing but the cat can easily go through the rails. I needed something to wrap those rails all around, but something that would be almost invisible (so that it doesn't look ugly). Well, this net did the job. It is light and thin so you hardly notice its presence, it is durable enough for this purpose, and very effective!! My cat enjoys the outdoors without running off, putting himself (or others: birds, bunnies)in danger.
Comments about Bird Netting:
My fruit trees are relitivly small. what i did is,,i cut the tops of my trees so they were squared off making it easier to put the netting over the trees. Then i bunched the netting at the trunk and secured it with a "black" plastic zip tie. you need to use black zip ties because the uv-rays of the sun will "eat" the white ones & then they will break.

Comments about Bird Netting:
We have used this to keep large wading birds from eating our gold fish in our pond. We clipped it to the rim and gathered it up around the tall plants. It has worked very well. We now see the fish again out swimming and not hiding in the plants!
Comments about Bird Netting:
Used to protect new vegetable bulbs as Jays were taking off with them. Will also use on strawberries as they ripen.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use the netting to keep birds & squirrels (I choose to lump them all as rodents...)out of my peach trees and they work great!! Now if I could only afford the netting for my fourteen (14) pecan trees that are 40 - 50 years old and approx. 60' feet tall..............(lol)

This will be the 1st year that I have used netting. I am using it to keep cats, dogs & other critters away from my flowers. I don't like to use chemicals so this netting should work pretty well.[...]

Works fairly well if you put it on exactly where you wanted it.

Wish it was about a foot wider as it would be easier to work with.
I'm using my tall tomato holders to hold it up with. Needs something to support height better.

Comments about Bird Netting:
We had a hawk sitting in the oak tree over the chicken run who was picking off our chickens one by one. After putting the netting over the run the chicken feast has stopped. Thank you for a great product. Would like to see it in a larger size. Only problem is that big branches that break off tend to bring the net down.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Does what it is supposed to do - catches on buttons, everything when trying to apply.

Comments about Bird Netting:
Bought this product to use on the grapes on the back fence. As we didn't need it right then we used it on the vegetable garden to keep out the rabbits and deer from eating the tender shoots of the root crops and green beans. It was great!Even kept the finches from eating the beet greens early on.
We ordered more to use for the grapes as it was so effective on the garden we didn't want to remove it!
Our daughter then ordered some to use on her container gardens on the deck to keep chipmunks from eating the veggies grown there.
Great product! Easy to cut the bigger one into smaller pieces.

Comments about Bird Netting:
This product was as represented and worked very effectively in keeping birds away from my tomatoes.
Comments about Bird Netting:
The net works very well once you figure how to unroll it to cut it to size. Like a folding map, it is a little difficult to get back into is original form.
Comments about Bird Netting:
A little difficult to use for a small crop, but a neccessity for sure. Will last forever.

Birds are clever and if the bottom isn't buried all the way around, they will find the opening and get in underneath the netting.

Comments about Bird Netting:
I bought this netting when the birds started eating my tomatoes. I was disappointed when I saw that the netting was black instead of green like pictured, but now I see that it doesn't matter. It's totally invisible once I covered the plants with it. Worked like a charm and I plan to use it again next year.

I put your bird netting over my fruit tree and tied it up under the branches. It's not only keeping out the birds, but also deer, squirrels,
monkeys (no, not really) but any other creature that can nest, climb or jump up into my a tree!
Very sturdy, too! My cat likes to snag on it!

Comments about Bird Netting:
I needed to proctect my strawberries from the birds and the netting I had would do that but would not let the bees in so I was delighted to find this item in your catologue. It is a good size, light, easy to use and not very noticable. It did the job. I was able to harvest and enjoy home grown strawberries throughout the summer.

Comments about Bird Netting:
This netting works well. I have a garden area that the birds were claiming. After easily installing this netting this garden is mine again.

Comments about Bird Netting:
I bought this in hopes that my family might get to eat some of our strawberries instead of whatever creature that has been eating them. We have gotten a few, but the animal has been getting some as well. I'm not sure how, but I'll find half eaten strawberries still on the plant under the netting every now and then.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I run a continuous strip of this stuff around poles in my raised beds, creating a barrier that chipmunks and squirrels can't navigate: it's too high to jump, easy to get tangled in, and too loose to climb.
The disadvantage is that it's difficult and confusing to unwrap from the package, measure, and cut. But it works!

Comments about Bird Netting:
I have a fenced in garden to keep the deer out. But the top always has been exposed to birds getting at my tomatoes. So, I used the netting on the side where my tomato plants are. Just attached it to the outer fence. It allows light and water in and can be easily removed. Best of all, my tomatoes are saved!

Comments about Bird Netting:
I put the netting on my blueberry bushes to keep rabbits, deer, and birds from eating the berries. However the netting really sticks to the plant branches and fruit making it difficult to pick. Would prefer the netting were more pliable--less stiff.

Comments about Bird Netting:
We cover our blueberries.
If we're careful with it, the netting will last 5 to 7 years.
When handling it, don't wear anything that has buttons on it.
The product itself is excellent. It's all how you handle it and store it.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Keeps birds and rabbits out of raised bed gardens.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I grow raspberries on my deck. The birds see them as breakfast in the sky. Last year I only got 2 berries. The birds got the rest. This year we are at least sharing. Actually I've gotten quite a few.
Comments about Bird Netting:
We've had problems with blue jays destroying tomatoes the last two years. The netting is strong enough to stop them if they fly into it, but is not sturdy enough to hold them if they try to land on it, so they don't!
Comments about Bird Netting:
It was large enough to cover my raspberry bushes. I had to have help getting it on as it kept catching on the thorns. I had no problem lifting it up enough to pick the berries.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I used it to protect my ripening blueberries, draping it over the top of the chicken wire fence around the bushes and fastening it with twistie ties. The birds are very interested, but are flapping around the outside noisily. I keep checking to be sure a bird doesn't get caught inside; so far, so good. If this were a slightly heavier weight, it would be easier to install. I do intend to re-euse it but can't vouch for that yet.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use it to keep chipmunks from eating my blackberries. I anchored it at the bottom with cedar strips so they wouldn't burrow under the netting - that was the hardest part of getting it mounted over the berries. Effective? We'll see, as the berries are just forming.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Used the product to keep rabbits from eating my strawberries. Covering the plants has allowed the strawberries to grow unharmed for us to eat, not the rabbits to eat.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Last year without nets I got only a handful of blueberries from 5 bushes. It's nice to have blueberries for breakfast again. Some berries do tend to get tangled in the net and come off when putting on the nets, so put the net on early before the berries form.
Comments about Bird Netting:
good cover to prevent my local birds from eating the strawberries, but kind of expensive

Comments about Bird Netting:
I am using this on my raspberries. So far so good.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Since I do all I can to attract birds, I didn't want to tempt them with my berries. I cut off part of the netting to use on the strawberry container and wil use the rest soon for my raspberries.
Comments about Bird Netting:
More strawberries for me, less for the birds! The netting is easy to use and has been effective so far.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I got the netting to cover the strawberries I have in a pot - the birds were getting the best of them. Now I actually got to enjoy a few of them myself. It was easy to cut, and I didn't have any issues with it falling apart.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Stopped the birds frome eating my straw berries and blue berries and helped keep the Bunnies out too.
Comments about Bird Netting:
This netting is small enough to keep small birds out and light enough to not crush the plants or berries. The netting was a little difficult to spread -- could be that I have too much for too little a space.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I thought the price was great and once we received them in the mail we were very pleased to see how nice the plants looked. The directions were very easy to follow and gave tips if you were not able to put the strawberries in the ground right away. Every single plant is now producing beautiful strawberries! They are very healthy and happy! We have them in a 3 x 3 raised bed with the bird netting over them and it is a wonderful combo right outside the back door for quick picking of yummy berries. Our toddler is enjoying the planting experience and watching "his" strawberries grow.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I have used these to protect my strawberries and raspberries and now I get the berries instead of the birds.

Comments about Bird Netting:
The two halves of the 24 x24 bird netting (34-409) was not properly put together. We had to use at least 10 wire ties in order to get the pieces together. These ties made it even more difficult to get the netting over your Elderberry bushes. The netting we had gotten from you last year was too small to cover the plants. They had prospered so well that the old netting could not possibly cover them. If all goes well, we are going to have a bumper crop.

THE 5/8" OPENINGS MAKE IT FAR MORE UTILE AND SAFE. THE MATERIAL IS FLEXIBLE AND STURDY. THE AREA COVERAGE IS EXCELLENT. TRULY A GREAT BUY AND QUALITY PRODUCT.

It fulfilled my strawberry growing needs very effectively.

Comments about Bird Netting:
Used this netting to protect the lower branches of our fruiting cherry. For the last few years, we've lost the entire crop to birds. I had tried other netting with a finer mesh, but that tended to trap water aginst the fruit and leaves, promoting rot. The Gardener's Supply netting has permitted adequate air circulation, while protecting the crop from birds. A good rendition of a low-tech classic.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use this netting to cover my raised vegetable garden bed. The product works very well as it has kept out rabbits, birds and armadillos. I've seen the birds fly around and unable to land where they want. I've also seen the rabbits approach the garden and then leave disappointed. The only thing I would change about the product is to have some weighting around the perimeter of the net. It works great just placing bricks on the overlap but a little weighted reinforced border would definitely help.

Comments about Bird Netting:
too small, needs to be a lot larger for the average tree, at least 75 x75 or 100x100 feet square
Comments about Bird Netting:
My aunt had lots of trouble with the deer eating her hostas. I covered them with this netting and no more problems! Not very noticable as well.
Comments about Bird Netting:
It is effective in keeping the birds out of our strawberries. At first it is a little tricky to handle but once it is spread out it is easy to uncover and cover.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use this bird netting to protect my blackberry bushes and when I first plant my raised beds I secure the netting over the top of the sides to keep the birds from eating the seeds and seedlings.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use the netting over the four arm stand that holds my Topsy Turvy strawberry and Tomato planters. It keeps the birds at bay!

Comments about Bird Netting:
Product seems durable and should be effective to keep birds from eating my tomatoes before I can. Size was perfect to cover the garden frame we built from PVC pipe. We plan to leave it in place year round. Fairly easy to work with.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Hope this works so the birds don't eat my cherries on the tree. This product is not available at any of our home stores or nurseries. Good price.
Comments about Bird Netting:
It would be nice if there was an edging or order product to use with the netting. The 14'x14' size is great since my raised beds are 10' long. They are 4' wide so I cut the netting. It would be grate to have a border or edge product to define the edge instead of having to use duct tape. This is hard to apply.
Comments about Bird Netting:
acts as an effective barier to animals and twigs and leaves
Comments about Bird Netting:
Spread netting over several containers of plants to keep the plants from being dug up. So far so good.

Comments about Bird Netting:
Product is great to keep birds away.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I used this product to cover strawberries. It is light weight and does not damage the plants.
Comments about Bird Netting:
Birds will not eat your tomatos but they will peck thru the skin to suck the juice of the fruit. This in-turn draws in the ants which destroys the rest of the tomato. Using bird netting to cover your plants is a must in most tomato gardens to keep the birds out. This product is very effective in stopping birds and rodents like rats, rabbits, and squirrels. A bit pricey and the large size can be difficult to work with unless you have some friends to help handle it when you roll it out. Would still recommend.

Comments about Bird Netting:
This netting will be used on plum trees later in the summer to keep magpies from eating all of the fruit but right now we have put down a layer in new flower beds to keep dogs and cats from using the beds as dust bowls and litter boxes. no dangerous chemicals to worry about and it seems to be working well.

well beyond the obvious discouragement to birds - I found that this made a great unobtrusive trellis for string beans to climb on the side of my home and also as a "wall" suspended by poles.

Comments about Bird Netting:
Used to keep birds from destroying our sour cherry tree crop. The net was a little cumbersome to put over the tree, but once in place, no more bird damage to the cherries.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I have an apple tree in my yard that produces excellent apples. However, unless it is covered completely with bird netting swarms of finches attack the tree about the time the apples are ripening. In a day or two all apples are ruined.
The bird netting I purchased allows me to protect the apples from the birds much easier than the patchwork netting I have used previously.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I use it for my veg. garden to keep critters out
Comments about Bird Netting:
I plan to use the product by attaching it along my deck railings so that my clematis can climb. I think the clematis will attach better to the netting than to the deck railings. Will use next spring.
Comments about Bird Netting:
I have two fig trees that are full of figs; however, the birds just really go at them, I don't mind sharing a few, but would like some reward for my efforts. The netting is really protecting them and I have actually gotten to eat some of the figs. I will probably buy some more netting for my grapes and strawberries later, right now Hurricane Gustav is here and I think weather is going to be bad for awhile, but I do need more netting.

This product is not as durable as [@]'s Ultranet.Ultranet worked great for my needs!
Comments about Bird Netting:
Only real downside is that I would have liked a middle size of 21'x 21' in addition to the 28' x 28' and 14' x 14' to fit mid sized trees instead of wasting the larger size.

Gardeners Supply use to carry a green soft netting this size. It worked. I still have one that is ten years old to cover my blueberries. This plastic type one is very inexpensive but lacks the right texture and weight to handle easily and to work with. A shame they don't carry the old one.

We used this netting on our blueberry bushes this year and have been very pleased with it. It is light-weight and easy to install. We have had an excellent harvest with no raids from the birds. As an added benefit, the netting seems to also deter Japanese beetles from the blueberry bushes.

Bird netting allows me a beautiful yummy harvest instead of the birds' leftovers.
