Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

We started using this a few summers ago when we saw annoying little flies around the fruit bowl. You just put the trap inside the nice-looking soapstone holder and the flies gradually go inside, never to return. You have to be patient--this may take several days, but there's barely a smell, no mess, and no scary chemicals around your food.

Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

I was so excited to find something to get rid of those pesky fruit flies. I bought (2) packages and set one up right away. Within a week, I thought maybe I did something wrong so I set up another trap. Still nothing. The flies may land on it but they never go inside the trap. I seem to have more fruit flies than before, if that is possible. If I could return for a full refund I would. Very very disappointed. Will not recommend.

Last year these traps worked well on keeping down my persistent fruit fly infestation that arrives each spring in my kitchen. I found that the effectiveness on my traps dropped dramatically after 3 1/2 weeks. So I ordered enough to get me through the fruit fly season this year. I also ordered and used the ceramic holder- attractive and hides the trap.

Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

I've seen these work time and time again (this style of trap if not this brand), so they are the only kind I buy. They eliminate fruit flies within a few days. Even if you see the flies sitting on the traps and just hanging around, eventually they'll go in and not come out. The traps do stop working after a week, but when I've eliminated the initial source of the flies I've never needed the traps to last any longer (I don't have long term sources like compost or a garden). I need the traps just once a summer.

We have used these off and on for several years. I have a garden and we always get fruit flies in the summer months. They are really hard to destroy. This trap works very well to attract and trap the pesky devils. I just brought in some strawberries from my garden and in one day had about a dozen, probably coming out of the strawberries. removing the berries, the flies were gone from view by next am.

I had fruit flies invade 4 plants and the sink drains in my bathroom. I tried a few home remedies but nothing seemed to work so I gave this product a try. I had to buy 4 of the traps which was a little pricey but worth it because almost all of the fruit flies are gone. I put a few of the traps right in the plants and one on the counter in the bathroom. There are a few still hanging around but I am hopeful that over the next few days they will give up.

Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

Perhaps I have missed the boat on how to operate these things, but not one fruit fly found these traps appealing. Of course, the soapstone holder is nice, but since the traps do not work, it has become a pricey container to put scrubbies in. I guess the flies in Colorado are hard to fool!

This is the 2nd time I have ordered these. They really work well to control fruit flies that are attracted to our kitchen compost crock. My best advice is to order a new set as soon as you open the 2nd trap so that you don't have a major infestation waiting for a new shipment!

I really love this product for getting rid of those little fruit flies/gnats that seem to be impossible not to attract in your kitchen if you keep fresh fruit and vegetables out. Plus, it's so attractive in it's sandsoap/stone container, no one knows what it is! I even get compliments on it from guests thinking it's some sort of scent holder. No smell, no muss, but it still does the job. Now I can enjoy tomatos, pitted fruits, etc. that just taste better when they can be left at room temperature without being bothered by small flies.

They last for months and causes no mess and I don't have to worry about the cat or the kids getting into it. Its great

We used this as part of a multi-pronged approach with a large fruit fly infestation. It is MUCH better looking than the fly paper strip we hung. I know the trap helped. What finally did it was when we wrapped the fruit bowl in fine netting for a week or so until a whole generation of flies was denied access. Now the trap is all we need to keep them at bay.

It's especially difficult during the summer season not to bring home fruit fly eggs or larva on bananas, peaches, plums, and other soft fruits. Years ago after a particularly bad infestion, I tried GS's traps and have used them since. I keep a supply of these on hand so I can open a fresh one as soon as I spot the first fly given their incredibly short life span. These traps really work.

Since we have a kitchen compost canister, no air conditioning and live in warm climate - fruit flys can be a problem. I got the "stone" container these fit in and use it every year when it starts to warm up. They are small, hide in the corner of a counter and keep the fruit flys to a minimum even with lots of "fruit" scraps in the kitchen compost can!

Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

When we harvested our winter squash, we didn't notice that one of them had a rotten spot. By the time we got around to pressure cooking and freezing the crop, the house was completely infested with fruit flies. Thanksgiving dinner was a disaster, more swatting at fruit flies than eating. The four fruit fly traps arrived shortly thereafter, and I put one in each of the main rooms. Within 24 hours the fruit fly numbers had decreased, within 5 days they were all gone.

I keep one on my kitchen counter next to the fruit bowl. It is especially useful in the spring and fall when the fruit flies are particularly pesty. Comments about Fruit Fly Traps, Set of 2:

I used to have trouble with fruit flies in the soil of plants in my garden window that spread to anything left on the kitchen counters (or maybe visa versa). They are gone now. The accompanying soapstone holder blends in nicely with my decor. These are fantastic products!
