Within a week, I thought maybe I did something wrong so I set up another trap. Still nothing. The flies may land on it but they never go inside the trap. I've seen these work time and time again (this style of trap if not this brand), so they are the only kind I buy. They eliminate fruit flies within a few days. We have used these off and on for several years. I have a garden and we always get fruit flies in the summer months. They are really hard to destroy. This trap works very well to attract and trap the pesky devils. We used this as part of a multi-pronged approach with a large fruit fly infestation. It is MUCH better looking than the fly paper strip we hung. I know the trap helped. What finally did it was when we wrapped the fruit bowl in fine netting for a week or so until a whole generation of flies was denied access. Now the trap is all we need to keep them at bay.

I keep these fruit fly traps near our counter-top fruit bowl and not far from our counter-top compost bin, both of which occasionally attracts fruit flies. Since installing the traps, I haven't noticed any fruit flies, so I'll give this product the credit. We always have fresh veggies and fruits sitting on the kitchen counter, and they attract small fruit flies. We also purchased attractive holders for these traps, and have one in the kitchen and one in the dining area. We recently ran out of the traps and had to order more, and once they got here, put them in the holders and the next day ALL of the flies were gone. These traps really work.

These refills seem to be working great on controlling fruit flies. I have a garden and lots of produce so fruit flies are always a problem. However, so far this year, I am very pleased with this trap and its effectiveness. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the price is a little high.

i guess fruit flys here in alabama are too smart for these traps. numerous times, there would be 2-3 fruit flies on a trap and they'd just fly away.

It's especially difficult during the summer season not to bring home fruit fly eggs or larva on bananas,peaches,plums,and other soft fruits. Years ago after a particularly bad infestion, I tried GS's traps and have used them since. I keep a supply of these on hand so I can open a fresh one as soon as I spot the first fly given their incredibly short life span. These traps really work.

Since we have a kitchen compost canister, no air conditioning and live in warm climate - fruit flys can be a problem. I got the "stone" container these fit in and use it every year when it starts to warm up. They are small, hide in the corner of a counter and keep the fruit flys to a minimum even with lots of "fruit" scraps in the kitchen compost can!

I had fruit flies. I sprayed and sprayed. I got rid of a plant then seemed to harobor them. I got this trap - a few weeks later - no more flies. No mess, no fuss, no smell, no problems - no flies. What else can be said.

I tend to add a yellow plastic sticky (hard plastic) pest strip that stands up behind this trap so I double the efficacy of getting all the fruit flies in the kitchen. It works without the plastic very well but with the plastic strips, works even better.

I have used this product before and have the soapstone box that I purchase these traps to refill. The traps do a fair job of getting rid of these pests but do not eliminate them completely. The flies are still a nuisance even though the traps do get rid of some of them but these traps are the best that I have found so far as sprays just don't do the job.

This product showed incredible results in just days. I had lots of the little pests and despite storing all fruit in the fridge and cleaning out the sink drains, could not get rid of the things. One word of caution, if they are tipped over the liquid runs out. I found out accidentally when moving one of the traps. Otherwise a fantastic product!!!

We had fruit flies in our kitchen and nothing this seemed to work for getting rid of them until I purchased this product. The only fault I found was that the holes you had to punch through with the attached stick was too difficult to use. I had to use a knife instead.

I had a horrible fruit fly infestation in my kitchen. Within a few days of putting it out on the counter in the ceramic holder, they were gone. Then about 6 weeks later I had a party, then got the flu right after. There was lots of fruit & stuff left out on dirty plates -- which is normally an open invitation for them. We just bought the fruit fly traps and the soapstone box as a gift for a family member. They work better for fruit flies than our homemade version, and there is the added advantage of our not having to view the tiny corpses. We use the fruit fly trap and baits in a group of African Violets in our kitchen. These flowers seem to "breed" fruit flies and the bait attracts and kills them in a week or two.

When we harvested our winter squash, we didn't notice that one of them had a rotten spot. By the time we got around to pressure cooking and freezing the crop, the house was completely infested with fruit flies. Thanksgiving dinner was a disaster, more swatting at fruit flies than eating. The four fruit fly traps arrived shortly thereafter, and I put one in each of the main rooms. Within 24 hours the fruit fly numbers had decreased, within 5 days they were all gone.
