We compost and I am not always as timely with the transport of scraps from the kitchen to the composter. This product was purchased to save myself some grief from my wife who was always the first to notice the accumulation of fruit flies around the scrap bin. Thankfully, I have been in good graces since the addition of the fruit fly trap!

Comments about Ceramic Box with Two Fruit Fly Traps:

I love this container. You would never know what it conatins unless you were told. I keep the opening stick right inside the box along with the friut fly trap. Yes maybe the ceramic box may be a little large but seeing the size of the trap itself the box needs to be that big. I plan on getting one for the bathroom since the fruit flies seem to like the sink overflow in the summer. Yuck, I don't understand that one but at least now I have a solution!

I've tried using malathon on my house plants to get rid of fruit flies. That was effective to a degree, but can leave a strong chemical smell. The fruit fly traps are much more effective. I have a soapstone and ceramic box in different locations in my house. They are attractive enough such that no-one would know they are there to get rid of flies.

Next time I just have to buy some traps.

Before I bought this I read the reviews and some said the product didn't work. I tried it anyway and I have to say it does work. It does not catch all the fruit flies but I find that the young ones are very attracted to it. The larger, older flies do not appear to enter it. As long as you don't have a major infestation and remove all other food sources for the flies, you'll have success with this trap.

On big canning/bottling days, we have too many fruit flies for it to handle, but the rest of the time with day-to-day summer use and normal amounts of fruit flies, it works great.

Comments about Ceramic Box with Two Fruit Fly Traps:

I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the fruit fly trap, but after using it for several weeks, I am impressed and quite pleased with results. I have a large garden and bring lots of fruit and vegetables into my home. In the past fruit flies have been a huge problem, especially with tomatoes and fruit. I just placed the trap on the sink next to my produce and no more pesky fruit flies. It works!

Comments about Ceramic Box with Two Fruit Fly Traps:

honestly, it's very easy to use. You just poke holes in it and set it on the counter or by the things that attract fruit flies but does it work? Eeeh not so much. if you have a small problem then perhaps it will, but that can be fixed without buying this product anyway. Our fruit flies just weren't all that attracted to this product.

What is good about it though, if it were working, that it doesnt smell and its not messy.

Its very ugly in my opinion but if it took care of things, because it's efficient and safe I wouldnt care what it looked like.
