Comments about French Door Screens:
We had regular sliding screen doors in the past and they broke easily or the dog ran thru it. With this screen, we can be confident that the dog won't break it and the bugs won't come in.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This was so easy to put up. Everything you need is included.
Comments about French Door Screens:
We purchased these screens for the french doors that lead to our deck. Our 2 dogs are able to nose the screen open and go in or out with the screen automatically closing behind their tails. This eliminates 400 trips for me to the door - and it keeps them from damaging a sliding screen door by pushing on it. Also, I harden off the plants on the deck, and its easy to open the screen hands-free when you have trays of seedlings to take in or out. We are extremely happy with our purchase and have recommended it to many friends/family. Well worth the reasonable price.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Great purchase if you are not able to install a screen door. I assembled and hung it up in about 15 min. My doorway is slightly shorter than the screens shortest width so it bows out slightly but it serves it's purpose. Have to make sure the flaps go down in the right sequence in order for the magnets to connect.
Comments about French Door Screens:
For an inswing French door that required a custom screen, this is a fantastic alternative. It installed in minutes, as promised, hangs perfectly, opens and closes easily, and - most importantly - keeps the bugs out and the cats in.
After using it for a few weeks, and facing an infestation of flying ants, I added a few strips of tape to keep the screen tight against the doorframe, but even under those trying conditions, the screen worked *much* better than I could have anticipated. And no mosquitoes or flies have come through!
My most curious cat has tried to figure out how how this screen works, but so far she's accepted this as just another door that she can see out but not get through. With her persistence, I don't expect the illusion to be maintained forever, but this is installed on a door that leads to a deck, so she can't go far!
For the price, this is an excellent solution to what seemed like a very expensive problem!
Comments about French Door Screens:
The idea is really good. Its implementation could use the attention of a creative inventor who could think of a better way to do it.
One problem is that the overlapping panels are designed ONLY for a french door combination with the "active" door on the right (as you're going out). If you have one that opens on the left, you have to turn the curtain around and effectively install it backwards because the velcro tabs are mounted on the screen when it arrives.
The velcro tab feature was not described in ordering information. This is the way in which the screens are held in place inside the frame of your door. The part that is applied to the door frame, you learn in reading the installation instructions, is permanently applied. Two problems with that approach: If you don't use the velcro to anchor the screen to your door frame, the slightest breeze blows the screen like a curtain, thereby defeating the purpose. Not using them also makes moving through the screen more unwieldy: it's a lot more effort to re-align the screen in the doorway. Second, referring to the "backward" installation above due to a left opening door, if you use the velcro tabs "backward", you end up installing the screen "inside out".
One more aspect of this screen that I hadn't thought about and was not described is the sag in the rod at the top. Included with the screen is hardware that you can mount into the frame that holds the middle of the rod up, eliminating the sag. It's an inexpensive metal clip, you drill one screw hole into the frame.
Not taking advantage of the velcro and clip means that the screens don't keep all the bugs out. I doubt they keep ALL the bugs out anyway, we have scorpions where I live, those critters would not be thwarted by a curtain.
Maybe when my beautiful new french doors are not so new anymore I won't have such an aversion to sticking the velcro or mounting the clip to the frame, but right now I don't want to do those things and that makes these screens marginally useful.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Our two dogs love this screen as much as we do. It allows them to come and go to the yard as they wish without asking us to open the door. The screens are effective in keeping the bugs out and allow a clear view of the outdoors through our french doors.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I use the screens on two French doors opening into my living room. It seems as though we are sitting outside! Wonderful.

Comments about French Door Screens:
We don't need screens all year so this works just perfectly -- priced right too. Could use a couple more magnet closures and could be a little wider at the bottom -- love it.

Used this as a doggie door on french doors from outside patio to kitchen. Great to leave doors open on nice days yet keep mosquitos out so the dogs can go in/out.

Comments about French Door Screens:
We love this screen. We are enjoying the spring this year in TN better than last year with this screen. It's easy to install and even my kids and Labrador find it easy to enter and exit the family room.

Our Aussie likes to let himself out. No more distorted screens! Now if I could only get him to close it better.

Comments about French Door Screens:
The screen is just great. We can leave our door open and enjoy the breeze and listen to the birds in our backyard. Our little dog learned to go in and out with just a little coaching...

Comments about French Door Screens:
my only complaint is it should come with 2 braces to be mounted on the sides of the door frame. when it is walked through 30 times or more a day (it is used at our cabin) it will begin to fall down and so EVERY time I walk through the entry I am always looking up to make sure it is still up and stable. otherwise, we are please with it
Comments about French Door Screens:
Good quality screen and tension rod sets up in a second and works really well.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I put this screen on a pair of french doors that could not have "real" screens. While a few bugs can get in, it is extremely easy to install and take down, and the dogs can push their way through without hurting it.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Great solution for a place where I wanted a screen, but not a screen door. Extremely easy to install, and highly effective.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This was a very easy screen to install. We are using it seasonally to keep mosquitos and other bugs out of our home. Easy to enter in and out of the house, our cat can even go back and forth thru it!
Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen is a bargain compared to permanent mounting screens and it does a good job keeping the bugs out and allowing us to improve ventillation with opening our French door. But, the screen doesn't close very well behind you when you go through it. It could use more magnets. It is unattractive from the outside, but doesn't look bad at all when looking through it from the inside out.
Comments about French Door Screens:
My Golden runs through ordinary screen doors. This screen allows her to go in and out without any fuss.
Comments about French Door Screens:
The screen can be used in a variety of ways, including as a way to ventilate a space that would normally be closed, like a small door to a storage shed, where things may have been closed up over the winter. It permits the shed (in our case) to be cool enough to go in and out of, even on a warm summer day.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Really glad I decided to give it a try.
Comments about French Door Screens:
My pets can go in and out to the yard and in the house all day and it keeps bugs and flys out.
Comments about French Door Screens:
No more fixed screens for me. I can juggle a whole tray of food and then some without fear of losing any of it. I just walk through my new screen without any hassles. I can open both sides of the french doors for a panoramic view of the garden.
Comments about French Door Screens:
The screen was easily assembled and hung.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen works just fine, but there is no reason to have the seam with the magnets -- it takes much too much time to try and line them up. I wish it were one screen the full width. I just push it to the side like a curtain. Also, it would be better if there was more weight at the bottom -- BBs or something so it wouldn't move around as much.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I apply a lot of composted horse and chicken manure to my gardens. Great for the soil but it does increase the fly problem. We're now using these screens on all of the doors in the house so we can keep the doors open, but the flies out.

Comments about French Door Screens:
WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL....THE DOGS WAIT FOR ME TO GO OUT RATHER THAN USING THEIR DOGGIE DOOR! THEY DON'T EVEN ALWAYS WAIT FOR ME TO "OPEN" THE SCREEN, AND THEY CAN COME BACK INSIDE WITHOUT HELP. ON NICE MORNINGS AND EVENINGS, THEY ARE JUST GREAT!!!

Comments about French Door Screens:
I recently added a screned porch to my house and was constantly annoyed at having to get up to open the door to let my dogs in & out. Now I can simply leave the screen doors open and relax while they do so without worrying about mosquitoes.

Comments about French Door Screens:
72 inch screen will not stay in place without drilling a hole in the door frame and attaching a bracket.
Screen is not long enough to cover a standard height patio door, which allows bugs into the house.
Will return product.

Comments about French Door Screens:
I had to buy seperate rod and mount on outside of the inside door trim. Attached velcro to trim and now the items seems to work well. But for an expense of over $100.00 [screen, [...], new rod, hdw]I have reservations about suggesting this item. Advertized as easy installation but the reverse was true in our case.

Comments about French Door Screens:
We love the screen and had it up in less than 10 minutes. We are able to keep the French doors open and enjoy the breeze without the bugs. We had estimates for a permanent screen that ran into the $600 range so this is a real bargain that works. My neighbors are all considering the screen as well.

Comments about French Door Screens:
We live in a rural community and love spring and await being able to open windows and doors. Our den/sunroom has double French doors which open to a deck and when they are open, its wonderful to bring in the outside, fresh air and light. We also have several dogs and regular screening options were less than desirable. Add the bug quotient and we were forced to keep the doors shut. I am so glad I found this solution...no bugs, lots of fresh air and the dogs go in and out of the deck area at will without noise or problems. We LOVE it! I am going to get a single one for another side door and a second large one for doors upstairs in our offices.

Comments about French Door Screens:
Great product but our door is in between sizes so this is a bit long but definitely better than nothing.

Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen allows us to enjoy the patio and backyard while inside the home. The dog loves it to come and go as she pleases too!
Comments about French Door Screens:
It's a great idea but lacks on the design. The magnets are only one way so it gets hung-up and OPEN so all the flies come in. The two pieces do not overlap enough and if you have a 20 something child the tension rod is not strong enough.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Without going into lenghty detail I found the French door screen lacking in ease of opening and closing and when you have metal French doors the magnets will stick to them making closing the doors difficult. There were other problems but needless to say the French Door model was poor construction.
Additionally, the rod to hang the screen on was very flimsy.
Comments about French Door Screens:
It's great to be able to let the breezes in without having to struggle with the sticking, flimsy aluminum track screen door which I had to replace twice before getting the French Door Screens. The dogs like them too, they can just push on through - freely coming and going.
Due to the location of my doors it is more convenient to pass through between the edge of the screen and the edge of the doorway. It would be nice to have those magnets on the lower outside edges instead of the velcro.
Comments about French Door Screens:
When I first saw this product it was the perfect answer for my problem. I have 6 birds that fly freely during the day with one very brave cocatiel that would fly by the french doors that were opened all the time by 2 of my labs and scare the beejebers out of me. I am happy and my dogs are happy as they can come and go as they please without having to lock the door! The added bonus of keeping the flys out is awesome also.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen was easy to apply but the length came up about 4 inches short. I had ordered the standard door screen also and was able to add to the patio screen to make it work. It looks good and was a snap to set up. I would recommend it but just be sure of your measurements. It's sturdy and my dogs learned how to go in and out very easily. It does keep the bugs out!

Comments about French Door Screens:
It is marvelous for our little Terrier to come and go. We used to leave door open a little bit for her and bugs found the opening. Now we are bug free inside.
Comments about French Door Screens:
The screen does keep most bugs out and is a lot less expensive than buying a screen door for our french door. The magnets do not always connect so we have to make sure they do after we walk through. The top of the screen does not keep out mosquitoes. This could be eliminated by tacking the screen; however, we did not want to make it that permanent.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Installed the screen door to avoid one more costly replacement of screen torn by visiting kids and dog. NOW my dog and cat love it as do all my guests who can slide through, arms full of trays for breakfast on deck (or whatever)...
Thanks for such great quality!
Comments about French Door Screens:
on the package it said you could use for right or left door opening. recommend using for left opening only. the velcro holding it shut is only for the left side. had to redesign to make it work for the right side. the pole did not stay intact when the dog flew out... it went with the dog. ended up having to attach brackets for the pole and screwing it into the door frame to keep it intact. after modifying it... its just wonderful
Comments about French Door Screens:
Installs in a snap. Works great on allowing us to keep our French Doors open on those warm days. Dog loves to be able to go in and out as she pleases. Only complaint is that the bottom magnet doesn't always "seal". But overall a great product.
Comments about French Door Screens:
No more swatting at "no see ums" while in the art studio! I can have the barn doors wide open all summer long! The french door screen allows fresh air and sunshine in -- sans bugs! Yet, I still have an unobstructed view of the hills, and easy access to the garden for my morning latte. Birds are singing, c'est la vie!
Comments about French Door Screens:
Can't screen the front porch yet, but want the doors open in summer. Perfect solution.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I bougth this product four years ago and lost it in a garage fire. Had to replace as soon as spring arrived.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen works well. We have it on French doors between family room and covered porch. Easy to put up and take down. Have to be careful that magnets line up so there isn't a gap for bugs. Definitely prefer it to a permanent screen door and much less expensive.
Comments about French Door Screens:
We practically live on our deck all summer but with toddlers, we were concerned about a sliding screen door being easily damaged. This is a great option that both us and our young kids can easily open without risk of tearing it down and it almost closes automatically (sometimes you have to pull the magnets together to get a really good seal). Very easy to install and seems durable thus far. Great product.
Comments about French Door Screens:
It is easy to install and it works beautifully except the tension rod comes down too easily if someone pulls accidentally on the screen. Too much tension and the rod bends in the middle. I solved the problem by installing two small bent screws at either end of the screen rod to keep it from dislodging so easily.
Comments about French Door Screens:
The screens work perfectly for us. We had a large garden party and instead of people trying to open and close a normal french door and also a large sliding "french" door to go in and out of the house, they easily were able to flow between the house and the garden, carrying plates and drinks without having to juggle them to open doors. Installation and removal for winter storage were easy too. We only received them at the end of summer, but I am sure next spring we will use them again and be able to keep our doors open for some fresh air, but be assured that the bugs will stay outside. The magenetic closures work well and the screens fit nicely to the sides of the doorway.
Comments about French Door Screens:
We live down in Texas. In the fall and spring its nice to have our patio doors open but we don't have screen doors. This product was a good idea and exactly what we were looking for to keep bugs out. Easy to install. We needed three more but they are very expense for an expandable curtain rod and mosquito netting.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I only open up one door of the french doors, so I bought a tension rod the width of both doors but only hang one screen the width of only one door (32"). Works perfect! Thanks for such a wonderful product.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Works as specified.
Comments about French Door Screens:
I saw this product at a friend's house and loved it. Couldn't wait to order my own. Perfect for double french doors when you can't hang permanent screens.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This is a very effective product for those of us that have French Doors. I am very happy with my purchase, great price too!
Comments about French Door Screens:
We had investigated putting in a doggie door, but the expense and "what if" factors convinced us to look for some other solution. My husband is now disabled and can't get up to let the dog out often and the dog was tearing up the screen door. This curtain screen has been the perfect solution - we can now leave the patio door open and the dog can get to the back yard on his own. Even if the dog scratches or pulls down on the screen, he doesn't do a lot of damage and the expansion rod is very easy to push back up into place.
Comments about French Door Screens:
We have three sets of french doors with access to our garden. Using your french door screens allows us to keep them open most of the summer without allowing annoying insect pests in the house. Now the beauty and wonderful fresh air surrounds us indoors and out. An economical way to solve our insect problem.
Comments about French Door Screens:
keeps most insects out, find I need to pin closed ,when pets go threw it does"t close all the way.
Comments about French Door Screens:
An inexpensive solution for french doors. Easy to install, stays in place and keeps the bugs out.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This was an inexpensive and effective solution to wanting to use the French doors for ventilation. The dogs love it as well, as they can go in and out at will.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This is an excellent product for any area where the entry to a "bug-free" living area is problematic. It's ability to be put up and removed quickly is far superior to the "built in" screens we have on our patio doors. They have warped with age, and are very costly to replace. This screen does the job fantastically--we can cool the house naturally now by having the patio door open again, especially at night.

Comments about French Door Screens:
This screen has been wonderful. I have french doors and this screen is a great alternative to the very expensive customer screen door option I was looking at. The only drawback is the screen is about 2" too short. I am very happy with it and it went up in minutes.

Comments about French Door Screens:
Works well but does not stay completely closed so some bugs do get in. Needs more than a couple of pieces of Velcro to stay closed after existing your door.

Comments about French Door Screens:
IT IS A GREAT IDEA BUT DOES NOT WORK AS STATED IN THE CATALOGUE. IT CAN NOT BE REVERSED TO EXIT ON THE RIGHT--IT IS DIFFICULT AND DOES NOT CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY. THE LENGTH IS ALSO A PROBLEM.
I HAVE ANDERSON HIGH END FRENCH DOORS INSTALLED THREE YEARS AGO.
THANK YOU
Comments about French Door Screens:
I have been looking for a screen for my french doors for a long time. These seem to fit the bill, but am having troble keeping it closed due to the strong breezes that we get here in the desert. Have added a few more closurer of my own which helps. The dogs love it as it took them no time to figure out how to get in and out on their own.
Comments about French Door Screens:
This product was a Godsend we have what we call a summer house in our gardens in back of the house and it has french doors and with the mosquito problem that has arisen this year we wouldn't be able to have my handycapped grandaughter in there because she would be ate alive since she can't combat the bugs this way we can all enjoy the gardens and the house without a bite thank you so much.
Comments about French Door Screens:
The screen really works well. You put it up as easy as a shower curtain. It's much cheaper than permanent screens for sliding/french doors and I can do it myself.
Comments about French Door Screens:
Before we were constantly getting up to let the dogs in & out of the screened porch to be sure the door was closed to keep insects out, but now they can come & go as they please without our help and the bugs stay out. Its a perfect solution for us!
