Comments about Portable Mosquito Repeller:

We're tortured in western Massachusetts with lots of mayflies and mosquitoes. I was sceptical if this product would actually work, so I did my own experiment. Yesterday I went outside to garden without the Bug Shield and within minutes I was surrounded by mosquitoes biting me. Then I went indoors and put the Bug Shield on my pants. Well, I laid in my lounge chair outside for about 20 minutes and only 1 mosquito came by me. I thought that was amazing. The only negative thing I've found is that the cartridge easily falls off the Bug Shield, so I have to look down occasionaly to make sure it's connected. A few times it fell off and I had to look all over the yard before I found it. Maybe next time I'll put some tape around it. Still, it's worth every penney to go outside and not be attacked by bugs. I thought about giving it 4 stars because of the cartridge falling off, but the good effects of this bug shield outweigh that problem.

Doesn't work in Florida

Comments about Portable Mosquito Repeller:

I was really hoping to have found a good nontoxic
solution to mosquitos here in Florida. The Asian
Tiger Mosquito here is quite agressive even during afternoon hours. The unit had no effect on the mosquitos when working outside during the day or while out on the deck in the evening.

Mosquitos are terrible in Florida this year. I think this helps, but I've just used it a few times. No mess and easy to use. I'll need to use it through the summer to better evaluate

We use this when eating on the deck. Specifically, we set it up under the table to prevent mosquitoes from feasting on our legs. It seems to work well. However, we gave it some help with citronella to protect our upper bodies.

Comments about Portable Mosquito Repeller:

Have used this product several times now and it seems to deliver on the promise of no mosquitoes. Several of us are bite-prone and we ate dinner in peace! There is a noticeable scent but it is not unpleasant.
The packaging claims it will protect a 15-foot radius; I can say it seemed to cover 2 picnic tables pushed together.
It runs on 2 AA batteries, which are not included. There is also a plug for an AC adapter, also not included.
The package recommends storing the cartridge in a plastic bag to prolong its life; I just tossed the whole unit in a ziploc. There is no "cartridge empty" indicator so I'm not sure how we'll know to change it except it stops being effective.
Overall, I'm happy because we ate in peace!

I have used this on my patio and am going to use it on my boat the first time this weekend when we are at the dock or at anchor. It helps and it smells nice and I like that it is natural.
