For years now, gardeners in England have made the most of very limited garden space by growing vegetables, greens and herbs in plastic bags placed on steps, patios and landings. We’ve made improvements and achieved terrific results — and you will, too! First, our Herb Grow Bags are made of patented, double-layer polypropylene instead of sheet plastic. This felt-like fabric breathes better, so your plants won’t suffer from heat build-up, overwatering, or poor aeration. Plus, our fabric air prunes plant roots, resulting in a strong, healthy root system. We’ve developed a Grow Bag for many popular crops — shallow for salads, deep for tomatoes, peppers and potatoes. That means less planting mix to buy and better results.

  • Plant a garden anywhere you want!
  • Grow fresh culinary herbs in any sunny spot
  • We also offer an optional for Grow Bags, sold separately

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

So far, so good. I'm using the tray under it with the pad. It works great as long as the tray is full of water. We've had so much rain this spring that I'm not getting a realistic read if this whole set up really works. Will add more later in the fall after a summer's worth of heat and sun.

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

I am using this product to grow peas, and then will switch to salad greens. I like that I can move the Grow Bag from one location to anther, depending on where the sun is. For those people who live in areas with poor soil, this bag allows you to garden without needing to worry about having the soil tested. It is also good for growing veges in small spaces.

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

These bags are perfect for growing herbs or any small vegetable that doesn't have a large root system. They are great for growing radishes and lettuce. I wll definitely use these small bags for my smaller vegetables. Using them doesn't take up space in the garden, and they are easier to tend.

I was excited about getting this bag but was disappointed when it came. The concept was good. However when I filled it with dirt it was lopsided. I ended up planting my herbs in a window box. Will think of another use for it.

I would have liked more support to the sides of the container but on the whole I like the concept on a self contained herb planter.

Herb Grow Bag
By KielsmomVerified Purchaser from Sparks, NV on 5/3/2010
Pros:
Drains Well, Holding Capacity
Cons:
Almost drains too well, Doesn't hold plants tight, The sides flop out
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

This bag does not feel sturdy. My plants are having a hard time staying in the soil because all four sides bend out. Maybe I am not using it correctly. I have to water it every day and sometimes twice if we have had a lot of wind because the bag dries out very quickly. I didn't love this like I thought I would.

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

Grow more than just herbs in these great bags! Remember the rule of roots - most plants will only grow as large around as their root ball. Keeping that in mind, using these bags allow a much wider spread of shallow rooting plants and encourage wider bushier growth. Judicious pruning means a huge ball of dense planting! You will have to water more often, as the shallower root area means faster uptake of water and nutrients but the result is worth it ten-fold. I could not be happier and will be getting more!

Comments about Herb Grow Bag, Black:

I have several of these and they are great for many different plants. Fill with soil and you don't have to weed. Since I am one of the "golden" generation, I cannot stoop or bend as well as years past. These containers allow me to grow everything I want without worrying about the pain!
