Don't hang your plants out to dry! These Self-Watering Hanging Baskets dramatically reduce watering chores while keeping flowers bright and foliage lush. A patented dual-action wick system (capillary mat plus evaporation grill) distributes water from a 1-quart reservoir so your plants are never dry, never overwatered. Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I purchased the Self-Watering Window Boxes last year and was very pleased with them. This year, I noticed the hanging baskets and decided to give them a try. So far, I love them. They look great and are very easy to water, as there is a hole near the bottom of the basket for filling. Unlike the regular baskets I used in the past, I don't need to water them every day, which was pain and a problem when vacationing. Now, with both the boxes and the baskets, I have a beautiful, colorful, floral display with minium upkeep, which is just great with me!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I very much like the design, however, there are a number of things I would and have changed.
1. The adhesive attaching the self watering insert to the pot fails very quickly. I Used silicon adhesive to fix this.
2. The hanging ring is only plated and it begins to rust fairly quickly. I replaced the ring with a solid brass ring.
3. The support ropes discolor fairly quickly [although they are plenty strong]. I replaced the ropes with solid brass #16 jack chain - they will now last indefinitely.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We travel and still like to have annuals around our home during the summer. We purchased these hanging baskets to put in topiaries and on shepherd's hooks. They hold enough water to keep petunias and impatients fresh for about two weeks.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We replaced a pot that broke and were happy to find pots that closely matched the previous one. We especially appreciate the water reservoir that keeps our plants watered in our dry, hot summers.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Easy to fill and does keep the plant watered!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these pots outdoors in a sunny but high place so watering regularly is impossible and the self waterering feature is perfect. One possible problem, the pot seems sturdy but it hangs from cords so it remains to be seen if they will stand up to sun and weather.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This product really cuts down on watering and the flowers are growing like weeds !!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The hanging planters are a common size but apparently the water reservoir isn't large enough accordingly. I have to fill it every day which means I'm not benefiting from the cost of purchasing self watering planters. I was hoping they'd work so went ahead and ordered 3 for my daughter and 4 for myself. They appear to be a waste of money. I should have paid attention to the negative reviews.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Planted with recommended soil, hung planter and found it is quite a trick to get water into the "self-watering" container hole. You need to have a very light weight watering can with a very small spout tip to get the water into the container. Otherwise it is very attractive and I hope it works.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great design, but the reservoir is pretty small - when the weather is really hot I have to fill the reservoir every day, which kind of defeats the purpose of having the reservoir in the first place. However, the soil seems to stay moist even when the reservoir is empty for a couple of days, so clearly the product works!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The pots are nice, but the ropes that are used to hang them are very unattractive. I changed them to chains I had from other pots.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This product really works well. Normally in hot weather a hanging basket of flowers has to be watered daily. The design of this basket has cut my watering down to once or twice a week. Just fill the reservoir and the water wicks up to keep the soil damp.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
THESE HANGING PLANTERS ARE ON MY DOUBLE SHEPHERDS HOOK. THEY ARE STURDY AND ATTRACTIVE AND MAKE MY FLOWERS LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Really nice red color, good for perennials, requires less watering for locations far away from a water source.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have ordered these pots in the past. They hold up well, are out in the sun all summer they hold extra water so they almost never dry out. I leave plants in them and put them under grow lights all winter then summer put them back outside.
Wish they came in a yellow. I have bought the green and the red.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I can't say enough about the self watering planters.. They make all the difference for thriving plants. See the results yourself with my attached photo.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This well system for pots is the perfect answer to drought conditions we are having in the South. I had just about given up on my deck garden but now plan to have all my pots with wells so that we can go on vacation and not have everything die on us.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The water resevoir is a little small for the size of the pot. I still have to water every 3rd day or the flowers wilt. Better than every day but the resevoir does not hold enough water at all.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The basket is perfect for us because we go in and out of our garage door and seldom use the front door. Our hanging basket is on the front porch so many times I forget to water it. That is no problem since we received this self-watering basket. Our hanging basket is "alive" and "well" now. We will be ordering more self-watering baskets. Thanks.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Bought annuals and planted them in the self-watering hanging basket. The flowers never looked stressed and are doing very well. I find it very easy to check the water level in the bottom of the basket. This hanging basket takes the guess work out of watering.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have a lot of house plants, as well as outdoor plants, and the low maintenance of this self-watering hanging basket is marvelous. Not only does it look pretty, it is a time and energy saver, in that you don't have to keep ahead of it to keep the plant(s) in it from getting too dry. It is just delightful - not only to look at and enjoy but the time and energy it saves you by having to check it for water all the time.

[...] my pots were not red but rust, and the strings were bright orange. I could not return them because my gardner had them completly full of plantsnand hanging when I got home. [...]
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I live in Florida. Therefore, my hanging plants require daily watering. I use the self watering hanging baskets on my lanai and have reduced my watering chores in half. As a landscaper, people always look at my plants for a refernce of my knowledge and expertise. I'm happy to say that these planters assist me in keeping my own plants looking their best.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The flowers in these baskets are growing quickly and look so healthy. I would definitely recommend these baskets to anyone.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Comes assembled with a wicking system to guide water from the bottom reservoir to the soil above. You fill it from below so you don't have to water from above. This would be great for those plants that don't like soggy feet. I planted it with a fern and hung it where I knew a bird would build a nest. This way I can still keep the plant alive by watering from below but don't have to disturb the nest!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We have not hit the heat of summer yet, so I can't say how the watering system will work over the long hot summer (if it get here), but, so far- so good. Every thing is happy, healthy and blooming. Plenty of room for good soil to help with the growth.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots are a great help with watering. I just put them out and have not yet had any real hot days but so far they are working great at keeping the soil moist. It says that they can go a whole week without adding water but I have found that they only make about 3 days. I will have to see how it goes in the hotter weather. Before using these pots I was watering twice a day so even if the water only last for 3 days, that is a big help.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Just ordered another 2 planters for my houseplants. It gets very hot in my mudroom and these planters do the trick!thanks!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I like this design and have had a similar hanging pot before. My one concern is the eyelets for the hanging rope. I worry that they won't hold up for the years I'd like it to last. I love things to get aged looking.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love these hanging baskets and can't believe I strugged with other types for years.
I bought these to replace several wire baskets with coco liners that I had used for several years. Using the coco liners had always been a problem for me. During the hot DC-area summers (or even on sunny spring days), I would water the wire planters in the morning, causing water to leak through the coco everywhere, but by the time I'd get home from work they would have dried out and my plants would be wilted or even half dead. This year, the last straw was when birds started stealing bits of the coco liners to use in nests, creating holes that spilled dirt. I knew I had to find a better solution.
I had long been skeptical of self-watering pots because I've often had trouble with waterlogging and drainage in the past. But the positive reviews and information about how the design prevented overwatering made me give these a try. I'm so glad that I did! My plants are all big, happy, and bursting with blooms, and watering into the input hole is much easier than watering the old coco baskets was.
My only wish is that the holding capacity were slightly more; on sunny days it isn't unusual for me to fill the reservoir at night and for it to be dry or virtually dry again by the next evening. However, that might partly be due to picking the black color (absorbing more heat from the sun), and honestly my plants could probably last another day or even two without refilling the reservoir. I'm just playing it safe and keeping them well watered because I'm so thrilled with how much better they are looking in these planters.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Looks great on my front porch.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
They seem to hold the moisture very well.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I used 2 of these for Tumbling Tom tomato plants. Here in Florida they need constant watering. Maybe elsewhere would be different. Have ivy in another that is doing well. Tad pricey. Like the Loden color but not the red.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Don't need to water the plant as often!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I purchased three of the red hanging baskets for my front porch. They look terrific and match well with the red trim on my house. I love the ease of adding water to the bottom of the basket (no more stepstool)and my plants must love the self-watering environment b/c they're all doing well.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We bought these planters in hopes of not having to water every other day or day. So far it has worked well, but during the heat of the summer here in North Carolina will see how well it really works. They look really nice and are well made. I expected it to be made of cheap flimsy plastic, but that is not the case at all. They are sturdy and well made.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
love it
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love the way these baskets look, and they're a nice size for hanging from my trellis. I can't let them go for a week without replenishing the water like others seem to be able to do, but then I live in a very dry climate. Maybe they could come with plugs that fit the reservoir opening to avoid evaporation (I've thought about putting tape over the openings). My flowers are doing marvelously, which is unusual for me (I definitely do NOT have a green thumb).
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
A great hanging basket. Holds a lot of flowers and all in all makes a beautiful basket.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Planters look really nice and love the watering hold near the bottom. So easy to water without having to take down or balance a water can over the top. Using the container mix works really well too. Wish all of my baskets were this kind.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Don't need water everyday- yeah
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Seems solidly built. I'm expecting it to stand up better than most hanging baskets.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
One of my favorite products
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I hava been buying these hanging baskets since they first appeared in your catalog. In the hot area in which I live, you need all the help you can get to keep your plants alive and healthy. I have at least ten and maybe more. My daughter and granddaughter both like them as much as I do so I have shared with them. Don't ever stop selling them.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I really love everything aboout it, except I noticed I still seem to have to fill it every other day.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Attractive alternative to typical hanging basket with liner. Plants don't dry out nearly as fast. Looks great. Time will tell how it holds up. I am ordering similar planters for my railings since these are so great! I had almost given up on hanging baskets because I get tired of watering them all the time--this is a great idea.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This planter is ideal for hot climates. It is difficult to keep hanging plants well hydrated in summer months. This planter is a wonderful solution.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Okay, not really lazy, but maybe "overextended" since there are so many beautiful things I want to plant. Last year I used moss-lined baskets beside my front door and had terrible trouble with water just running off the top of them and not soaking in, since they had no edge. I ended up having to set them into a giant tub of water every couple of days. I have reservoir pots hanging inside that only need weekly watering, so I got some for outside to make life easier. There is no downside to these pots, except that they may tempt you to plant even more . .
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Got 2 of these a couple of years ago and have just added 2 more. I am delighted with them. They have held up well and hold enough water so that my hanging plants flourish. One of the ones just ordered is for a girt. I'm trying a hanging cherry tomatoe in the other--first two will again hold flowers.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Using this planter, I can water my plants and leave them for at least a week unattended if I am not there to water them. This is a big plus for me. I use them at my vacation home and just ordered more for my primary home.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought these to plant hanging baskets in the high desert of AZ. It's still too cold here to have tested them out but hope that plants won't need to be watered twice a day with the self watering capability.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I needed indoor hanging planters that wouldn't spill water. So far they are working well for the purpose. These are fairly attractive and light weight.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I placed them up high in a south facing window - no direct sun in the summer but plenty in the winter. Because of the water well I only have to take the ladder out once a week to reach them - looks great.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I live in a hot dry desert climate and keeping plants watered is always a challenge. These self watering pots are great. I have had them for 3 years and they seem to be holding up very well in the sun. I've just received 2 more and plan to replace all my basket types. The only thing I would change would be the hanger which is rope rather than chain and will need to be replaced soon.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These self-watering hanging baskets are great. We live in Florida where hanging plants need daily watering. This is a great help in keeping the soil evenly moist.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The ropes get tangled and are difficult to get right. Of the three hanging baskets I bought, I couldn't ever fix the ropes on one of them. I think it was a manufacturing defect. Not a big deal and nobody will notice, but I'm surprised they aren't designed someway to avoid this. Also, be aware that the ropes are connected by a ring without it's own hook. If you are planning to hang this basket from an existing chain, you will need an additional coupler.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've used these planters for flowers outdoors
in the summer for years now and I think they're
the best. Its so much easier to keep the flowers
watered than with all the other hanging baskets I've tried. I'm buying more of these, they're the
only ones I'll use from now on.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Love the look of hanging baskets but did not have the easy watering feature until purchasing your hanging baskets. Was able to get the same color as my recently purchased rail planters for a uniform look. Looking forward to filling these hanging baskets with beautiful flowers.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We decided to decorate with plants and improve the air quality in our home. We bought two white hanging baskets, one for each bedroom. They are attractive, well made, look lovely. The water capacity could be a bit larger - the water barely lasts a week - a week would make it very vacation compatible.
The boston fern and spider plant love their new homes.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great product, saves time and often saves the plant itself. It cuts down on how often I have to water my big hanging plants. In winter, it's between 1 and 2 times a week, depending on the room temperature. In summer, depending on weather, 2-3 times a week.
Only suggestion is to put the watering spout outside the planter to make seeing the water level easier.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I rated this planter a '3' because the color was so different than what I would call 'bronze' and actually, I was told that the manufacturer calls it 'mocha'. I wouldn't have ordered a planter described as 'mocha' [...].
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love the pots and they look so nice, I wish I had ordered six more!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These self-watering pots are a life saver for my plants! They do not, as mentioned in their description, water for anything close to 2 weeks where I use them. However, I can now go away for a long weekend in the heat of the summer without fear my plants will die of thirst (which happened over and over again before I got these).
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Light and functional.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My house plants have never been healthier. I'm retired and travel a lot, but the water reservior holds enough for two weeks or longer, and avoids the brown leaves I used to get.
They do need a cover for the water hole though, to keep bugs from breeding in there, and the frog that wanted to hibernate in there out.
I have already purchased additional pots to give to my gardening friends and they love them also!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I needed a hanging pot for some indoor plants, and was very satisfied with this product. I was unable to find a hanging pot at other stores, since it was out of season, but as usual, Gardeners had just what I needed, year round! Though it cost more than I was hoping to pay, it is a very sturdy plastic, with a good drainage design and large reservoir to prevent neglected plants from drying out. I gave several to friends and family, particularly to those who profess an inability to remember to water - they seem to be serving them well. It is very good quality and available in several attractive colors. Not sure how well the rope hanger would hold up outdoors, but if I decide to use it there, I could easily replace the hanger (if it weathers) with another rope or chain.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Sturdy just not big enought
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these indoors and out. They look great and the soil stays really moist.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Like the idea of a self-watering container butfind this pot heavy even though I have the container mix you recommend. I'm afraid to hang planter in the house and I hope I'll be able to hang it outside. Disappointed in Wisconsin. Wishfor a smaller size.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This self-watering hanging basket is just a perfect addition to our front porch. We are slowly converting most all our outdoor planters to "self-watering" from Gardener's Supply. We are in 60% full sun and will monitor how often we need to fill 'er up in the heat of summer. We are just so tickled how easy it is to fill. Many Thanks for your selection of Quality Products!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great for hanging baskets that are too high to easily reach...can fill from the side near the bottom of pot.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have a Golden Pothos in a white hanging basket and it looks spectacular. Easy to fill the water container.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I tried one and am planning to buy more. I spend less time watering the plant potted in the self-waterer.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Recommend using a 50/50 mix of regular planting soil with the special self watering soil.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This planter is a must for anywhere you want to hang a plant. Hanging plants dry out quickly in hot weather, and I am happy to have the added protection from losing the plants I paid for.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Love the design and the extra water reservoir/capacity but the watering port is awkward angle for watering using a watering can. I have 3 of these for indoor plants and 2 of the 3 leak badly around the watering port when I water from the top of the pot. I have to put a towel underneath as the water pours through the crack where the inside liner meets the outside near the watering port. Probably beat for outdoor use where leaking wouldn't matter as much.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I really like this basket -- plants do too!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great for this hot and dry summer...a bit tricky to fill while in a decorative holder but well worth the effort.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I planted some impatiens in this pot this year to hang on my deck. It does get a good bit of sun, so it dries out more quickly than I thought it would. On the hottest days, I still must add water to this twice, sometimes three times, a day. However, it is easy to use; the plants seem happy and are growing well and never have gotten yellow leaves like my other impatiens do.
I've purchased 2 more for next season, but will try locating them more in the shade.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots saved my flowering plants. I had all but tortured my prior flowering plants by not watering them enough or overwatering them. These pots are wonderful in that I can water them once a week and they keep the plants happy and the flowers smiling.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am a very forgetful gardener and these planters help my plants survive my forgetfulnes.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Excellent product, well made, cuts down on watering. Also bottom spout makes it easier to water. Best part-can go away for a week and come home to happy plants!! I bought 3 last summer and now added 3 more this year. The only suggestion I have is to add more sizes in the pots-I would like an even larger pots.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
It is hard to believe that this item has received such rave reviews - obviously many folks are wowed by mediocrity. The opening on the side is too low to provide easy filling so water tends to spill everywhere. If the designer of this product actually used it he/she would discover that putting the opening for water higher up on the side would significantly improve the capacity and watering ease. After one year of frustrated use I plan to dump it in the recycle bin. Hopefully Gardeners will come out with an improved version someday.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have a sunny spot near my front door where I love to grow flowers in a hanging pot. Unfortunately, it's also very hot and dry during the summer. So far, this self-watering planter seems to be the answer.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have 6 hanging plants on our new deck. The summer has been unusually hot and we have been gone on vacation several times. I would have lost my investment in the plants without these wonderful baskets. My plants stay healthy, the pots are attractive and I will purchase more (for more plants) for next year. Thanks for the great product!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This planter has a large capacity and a very attractive appearance. It's a great and easy choice for your hanging plants. The self-watering feature is perfect for lazy gardeners like me!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Large enough, yet small enough for house plants to thrive inside. Easy to keep the plants watered over long periods of time.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Very nice hanging pot
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Works well for established root systems
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I travel a lot and my poor plants suffer from lack of water while I'm away. I was nearly ready to give up on hanging baskets when I discovered these self-waterers. The package says plants can go up to two weeks and, while that's an exaggeration in the heat of a mid-Michigan summer, it has allowed me to come home to live flowers if I'm gone for a long weekend. Next year I'm going to convert all of my pots to self-waterers. I'd say these pots are certainly a "bloomin' success"!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am a serial plant killer. This product is saving lives.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have six of these planters and I am back to order two more. They do a terrific job of keeping my plants watered in my very dry summer weather. I used to come home from work to dry, wilted plants, but not now!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Nice pots we bought several from Gardeners Supply until I found them locally for 2/3 the cost. ([$] vs [$] from GS).
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This hanging planter surpasses all others because of the water reservoir. It keeps the plants much healthier.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The basket is quite attractive, but it has not reduced how often I need to water. The basket is outdoors in full sun and I have to water it every day. I ended up putting it inside during a 3 day vacation so that the plants wouldn't die. It might be better suited to indoor plants or hanging in part-shade. It does appear to hold plenty of water but in full sun that water is used up quickly.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We travel back and forth to our camp so plant most of our annuals in containers. We have had great success with your self-watering planters and a problem with large hanging plants that we thought were well insulted with deep soil and moss covering. We purchased them already planted at a nursery and they were expensive. We decided to try the somewhat smaller diameter (not by much), self-watering hangers. To our amazement they came through beautifully with the awful hot spell we just had while we were away. It was 95 degree heat with no rain for 5 days. The reservoirs were dry when we returned, but the plants were just fine and top watering showed the soil there hadn't dried out. We are really very pleased and are telling everyone how great these hangers are. So far no complaints at all. We have green ones.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have bought this product several times. My only problem with the pot is that either squirrels or mice chewed thru the cord from which the pot hangs.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The side fill is good for baskets placed high but I would prefer to have a top fill model like the window boxes with more capacity ... have an opening allows the water to evaporate quickly ... these are better than an ordinary basket but could be better.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Love this product. Makes it possible for people like me to enjoy plants. No hassel with plants dying from forgetting to water frequently.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Don't need to water the plants everyday with this basket...Plants love it too. They are looking so good even through a heatwave. I'll be buying more.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This is a great hanging flower pot. Large and has a large water resevoir.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought 2 and then bought 2 more when I saw how great these were. I put in annual seedlings and also some morning glories that are climbing up the string. All plants are thriving. I just wouldn't put in nasturtiums again in these....the reservoir gets sucked dry by those guys in about an hour...the rest of the plants can usually go a few days, unless heat is extreme.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have been very happy about the baskets. We have had 4 days in a row over a 100 degrees. The flowers are doing great. Actually growing more and more
with the extra capacity of the hanging basket. Well worth the money.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My hanging baskets always look good, even if I'm not here to water often. Perfect for plants that get a lot of sun.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am very pleased with my purchase of two of these self-watering hanging baskets. I have them hanging from my front porch and they look beautiful.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great growing herbs in the hanging baskets. Only need to water plants 1 1/2 weeks outside.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great design and quality for price charged. Wish larger/deeper pot was available with chain hangers vs. cord hanger system. Cords will come to end of life much sooner than cords.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These are a great idea, but they do not work so well in desert climates. The water evaporates too quickly. I would recommend them to friends in other climates.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I repotted hanging plants in my sunroom. These hanging pots solved the problem with forgotten plants when we are away.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am growing flowers. The pot becomes heavy/bulky and hard to lift by yourself to a hanger. The water capacity is small, tend to need to water more often. The flowers look great and are doing extremely well. Great drainage.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We left for five days during a 95 degree heat wave...no rain in sight. When we returned, all three plants in the pots were still looking fine; even in the one in the all-day sunlight.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've ordered these baskets twice and would do it again. They've kept my ferns alive hanging from trees in my huge back yard. I don't have to water so often and the ferns are flourishing. Love it!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I planted wave petunias and hung them (I bought 3) from the deck above my patio. Since I don't get much sun on the patio, it's important that these hang in the sun from a hook on the deck floor above.
I have tried to grow colorful flower pots from these hooks before, but I can't seem to keep them alive and thriving because I can't seem to be consistent with watering daily. This fits the bill perfectly! Finally, I can have success!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots look great, love the ability to water from the bottom, flowers hanging on my porch look great. With extra capacity, it's not necessary to water every day even w/ high temps.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought my first couple pots and put Tumbling Tom Tomatoes in them. The plants are doing great and I picked my first couple tomatoes yesterday! I ordered more to replace my coir lined baskets that were always drying out. When my Mother saw them she was sold and I ordered a half dozen for her garden. Everything we have growing in them is growing great.
The only things I don't like about them is the fact that arn't as deep as they look because of the reservoir. I wish they were just a bit deeper for transplanting existing hanging baskets. The other thing I don't like is the hanging cords. They are just a polyester cord that I can tell will give out sooner than later. These cords are attached to the pot with plastic clips, these to I foresee breaking and no longer being able to use the pot.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The bronze color is attractive and neutral in a natural country-type environment. Wish these planters were 25% larger, however, for sheer visual impact.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought 2 of these last year, and another 2 this year. The colors and material are attractive and they seem sturdy.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have these baskets in my front yard, they look great.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have 2 in my kitchen and 1 outside. I wish the cord was a little more decorative (perhaps braided) I'm looking forward to watering once a month.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This was just what I was looking for. Helps keep plant watered even during driest of days.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I really love these hanging planters. I purchased 3 and will buy more next year. I live in Baltimore, MD and we have very hot, humid summers. I love hanging plants but they always die because I can't keep them watered properly in regular planters.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Use for decorating patio w/annuals. Left on vacation for a week to return to healthy, watered plants. Reservoir works great!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These baskets make watering my plants so easy. The location of the fill hole is so convenient and I love the mocha color I purchased. Buy these with the self watering container mix and you don't have to worry about watering your plants as oftern. If you do purchase one, I suggest that you have a heavy bracket or or shepherds hook as the pots do get heavy when the reservoir is filled with water.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought two of these in 2008 so I'm on my third season with them. The only way in which they have weathered is the ring at the top has gotten rusty (the ropes have also gotten dirty but not moldy I don't think). I expect I will have to replace the rope and ring next year or the year following.
These baskets do a good job of wicking water from the reservoir to the potting mix in my experience. I think you can get away with using something other than their potting mix (unlike with the self-watering window boxes, IMO). I grow nasturtiums in these with great success.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The Self Watering Hanging Baskets are perfect. We have 4 of them and not only are they very attractive they are equally functional.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These do cut down watering where you might have hot dry windy conditions like I do here but you still have to fill water area and water daily. A waste of money! Go with pot planters, they work much better.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am replacing a pair of Self-watering hanging pots that I have had for a long time and are cracking. I was concerned that I would not find anything to replace them. I am pleased with my new hanging baskets and I have to say they are better than my original ones!
This is a great product and would recommend to give them a try.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Works well in our dry summers
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These are very nice looking, and have kept my plants happy and moist on our hot summer days. Really like them!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
They look great hanging on our front porch and the self watering feature takes the guess work out of watering.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We've used the self-watering hanging pots for several years. While they help somewhat, they don't wick that well so they don't save us that much watering. They don't work well enough to leave plants without watering during vacation.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have an old wooden bicyle rack that I assigned a new task last year. I placed it on my deck to hang plants and used cheap plastic baskets. Looked great but baskets broke half way through the summer and watering all of them was a bother and hard to remember to do.
These self watering baskets are durable and incredibly efficient to keep the plants going strong. They are attractive enough i have one inside at my kitchen window. Great color choices and big enough to do a great transplant from the original containers used in the stores.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
In hot weather I sometimes forget to water my fuscias daily. This hanging pot has saved them.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I enjoy not having to water my hanging pots every day. In Wyoming it is essential that pots be watered daily or they will dry out. This is very nice.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My backyard is on the South side of the house - gets continuous sun all day long - great for the pool, not so for hanging planters These planters are the only ones I can use to hang from my deck and around the pool and my flowers thrive.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Nice product, seems to be a quality planter. Colors run true to pictures. Extremely pleased.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love the idea of this basket, and I am glad I got four to hang on my porch. So far, it's working well. However, whoever designed the opening for the water resevoir didn't take into account that people have different shapes of watering jugs. It is clearly designed for a jug with a long, skinny spout. Since I don't own such a jug - I use an old milk jug - I had a very hard time filling the resevoir. Maybe if it came with a removable funnel?
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Nice pot, does what it's designed to do. It is a little large for the hanging wall bracket, so if you intend to use this with that bracket, I'd suggest a plant that doesn't extend much beyond the diameter of the pot (2 inches is ok) otherwise it will look crowded against the wall.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
It's good as a hanging pot that you don't need to re-water every day. It holds water sufficient for about 3 days, depending on outdoor temperature.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Even after following the instructions as how to plant, etc. I am still filling the reservoirs every day. These baskets hang from a porch that gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Since I am still filling the baskets once a day, I don't feel they live up to their billing of "dramatically reducing watering chores."
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Each year I add more baskets of fuchsias and begonias. I also have a huge Boston Fern and spider plant in these baskets and they are wonderful. I am adding more indoor plants this year. I like the additional colors; but wish there was some variation to the design and size.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Basket is actually designed nicely and is very attractive. But I needed something to hold water for several days as an outside hanging basket while I travel often. This basket dries every day. I come home after 2 days to dry plants. I have 4, they all work just like every other basket out there. Worth the value of a nice looking basket, not worth more. I imagine it would be very much more effective for indoor plants.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This is a great product and has helped alot. Since my hanging pots get direct sun all day I could never keep the plants alive, the soil would dry out to quick. These have been great and do an amazing job.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Love these planters, very basic design. These do not rate high in being attractive though, so I have them in the back of my yard hanging off of the stockade fence, not out front. The style is very ordinary.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My plants grow thick and beautiful
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The pot is attractive, however the hanger cord is VERY flimsy. I have to water about every 1.5 days. I lost two plants, they just dried and died.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots definitely cut down on watering; however, they don't last as long as advertised. If I fill the reservoir, it will be empty 48 hrs later. My plants are in the shade, so the sun isn't drying them out. It's definitely better than the pots the hanging plants are purchased in.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
just load with dirt, plant and fill with water. it's that easy.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I just got things planted but so far I am very impressed at the quality of the self-watering hanging basket. This allows me to grow more in a very confined space without worry of them drying out so quickly. I now have space below them to plant other items and they look great as well.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
works great, waiting to see how long the rope holds up against the elements
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
In the past I have used wire hanging basket with a liner. I was frustrated because they liners don't hold up over time and you are constantly watering your plants. Heaven forbid you miss a day or two of watering and your plants will die. I decided to order these self-Watering Hanging Baskets and I am overjoyed at how well they work and how beautiful they look! The baskets are made of sturdy material that looks far more expensive then they actually are. It's very easy to water your plants and fill the resevior with water. Now if you have to go away for a day or two, the flowers will survive. My flowers have never looked better!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These are large enough to make dramatic floral arrangements for my deck. The terra cotta color matches well with my other pots. I'm looking forward to going away for a few days and not worrying about my plants drying up if there is no rain.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
THE POTS ARE ATTRACTIVE AND EASY TO USE BUT EACH YEAR I HAVE HAD THE NYLON CORD BREAK AWAY FROM THE RING. THE POT GET HEAVY FROM THE RAINFALL OR WATERING AND AS THE WIND SWAYS THE POT, IT RUBS THE CORD AGAINST THE METAL RING AND BREAKS IT. THE POT DROPS TO THE GROUND AND ALTHOUGH THE POT DOESN'T BREAK THE ARRANGEMENT IN IT IS RUINED. PLEASE CONSIDER USING STRONGER (UNBREAKABLE)CORDING IN THE FUTURE. ANY FUTURE PURCHASE WILL DEPEND UPON A CHANGE, HOPEFULLY ONE WHICH YOU WILL POINT OUT IN YOUR ADVERTISEMENT FOR IT.
THANKS.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Really like these pots.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love these pots!! I wish all of mine were like it!! will try the inserts that are offered!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've used these baskets for years, and they're great! I hate tacky-looking hanging baskets, so I started buying these primarily for their simple classic design. I found the self-watering feature is helpful too.
The only minor annoyance is that, because I use the white baskets, the matte finish makes them difficult to clean. But that's something that I'll put up with because in all other respects these baskets are darned near perfect.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This is the perfect planter for your hanging plants that seem to always need water because they are in the sun. For the first time ever, I come home from work, and my plants look healthy, not droopy and dried out.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Form and function at its best. However, I followed the advice of other reviewers and got the Swivel Chains to replace the rope - so glad I did. I got the Mocha color planters and they look great with the black swivel chains.
We put one on each side of the garage door: very attractive. I can water them and forget about them for a week or maybe a little longer - no more droopy, sad plants like previous years. Love it!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This product is great! It was easy to use / set up. The reservoir holds a good amount of water. I like the look of this basket much better than the disposable pre-filled baskets I have bought in the past at my greenhouse. So far, I really think the plants are thriving better because of the self-watering feature than they would be in normal baskets.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This planter really meets my needs as I travel frequently and want to be sure that my plants have enough moisture to survive. Now hanging outside, the attractiveness of this planter will make an easy transition inside when the cooler weather hits.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I paid[$] each for 6 per planters plus [...] Low and behold didn't I find them in unnamed store for$6.97. Quite a markup.Makes me think about future purchases
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
am i the only dumb person that didn't know that the insides needed to be purchased separately? nowhere does it say that. we planned on planting this weekend. no SELF WATERING SYSTEM INCLUDED
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The pot is great but you do need a strong
shepards hook to hang the pot once filled.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
With my first purchase I ordered two hanging baskets. We liked them so much that we ordered two more with our next purchase. I hope to do the same with each additional purchase I make.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I wanted hanging baskets that would bloom all summer. The prepackaged ones look nice for a while but then bloom out. I hoped that the self-watering baskets with flowers I planted myself would look nice longer, and so far they have met my expectation.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Finally a hanging pot that's built to last and well designed
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots have been wonderful in Arkansas where a hanging pot can dry out in a day. I don't have to rush home from work everyday worrying that my plants will have wilted or died. And vacations not longer require a times sprinkler or a neighbor for watering daily. I hope to see more sizes and shapes in coming catalogs.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have been unable to find these baskets in local garden stores.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I especially love the color.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The porch of our weekend home is on a lake and the plants get a lot of wind and dry out. These hanging pots manage to keep the soil moist for more than a week -amazing!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have always been the kiss of death for plants- I underwater, overwater, etc. My grandchildren and I bought plants Easter weekend- the 3 year old stepped on them, the 5 year overwatered the flats resulting in me ripping them out. Not only did they survive- they look fantastic a month later. And these hanging baskets are the key. Hanging on the porch, they make it look like I am a real gardener.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Started with one planter last year. Bought 3 more this year. They are such a time saver and my ferns are thriving in them as well as my flowering plants.I live in the south and my plant's soil is still moist after two weeks. Love it!!!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great design. I wish you had a larger size and longer ropes. But I used these with my smaller displays.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The baskets are the best I have ever seen. Love them. My plants now thank me, because they stay watered and never dry out.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Summers are hot and dry in San Diego. This will help out during Santa Ana weather AND when we are traveling and not able to water daily.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Very attractive hanging basket. I can't wait to plant it - once it stops snowing!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I'm using it for hanging grape and cherry tomatoes. Worked great last year,so I'm doing 2 this year!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
In our current drought condition, this helps to keep plants looking their best
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We bought these because we travel often on weekends in the summer, and I am tired of losing hanging baskets to the heat and wind! I am so hoping these will keep our plants happy over a long weekend. I have planted two of them so far and they hold a good amount for a decorative hanger, and are very attractive! It is slightly awkward trying to fill them with my watering can, but if I use the hose it will work fine.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Our soil is so sandy that I am having trouble finding something to support these baskets(my trees are not mature enough to hold them). I am still searching because they are so beautiful.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The water evaporates in the self-watering containers overnight, even in 70 degree weather. Useless for any long-term (ie. vacation as advertised).
The cords that hang the baskets are flimsy and will rot in one season in the sunlight.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These are great plants that do hold the water and don't require as much watering as most containers.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I purchased this to hang outside . I like the color and design but the orangish rope looks really cheap. I wish it had been a simple chain one like my other planters. i finally bought a chain hanger, I would recommend this if it had a different hanger.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
It's great to have a pot that you don't have to water all the time - but I just wish they had chains instead of rope to hang it. I know I'll have to replace the rope next year - but then I'll like it better. And, Gardener's Supply carries the chain in packs of 2 for less than [$]!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these self watering planters for my spider plants and newly rooted cuttings.
They look great in any indoor room and you do not have to worry about the plants if you travel alot.
I typically refill the planters every 2 or even 2.5 weeks.
I love them!!
great new colors too.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I just hung this up today, so don't have long term info. The directions say it will keep plants watered for 2-3 weeks! Wow I hope so!
It is very attractive, altho I hope the white cords will stay white through out the summer!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I like being able to water from the bottom since I usually have a Carolina Wren take up residence in one of my hanging baskets. This way I can keep the roots watered and the nest dry!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Don't expect to go away for a weekend and have water. I have had to put water in everyday since I have had the plants in the pots.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Fits my working schedule which can be hectic!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
At last a hanging plant pot that isn't ugly; that it's self watering is the frosting on the cake.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Very attractive matte finish. The reservoir will help keep my baskets alive. I would love to see a deeper pot with more root space.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I'm undecided on these baskets as of yet. It's just April in Texas and there is no water in the reservoir just a couple hours after filling it. While the soil does stay moist, I'm concerned about how these baskets will do when it's 100+ here in the summer. They were quite costly so I'm expecting to be able to go 24 hours before refilling the reservoir. But it's not looking good if the water doesn't even make it 4 hours in the spring!

I haven't totally used this so far but am looking forward to hanging it. Hope to have some lovely hanging flowers to add to my roof-top garden.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
works well at our lake cabin, doesn't need continuous watering
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought these to tie in with the front porch ferns. They are a great size and weight, and easy to lift. Easy to fill.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
With these self-watering pots, I don't have to water as often and that saves me a lot of time. I also like it because when I go away for a week or two, I don't have to worry about my indoor plants drying out. Wonderful product for indoors and out.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I looked to buy something like this locally. They aren't available in any gardening stores near me. All they have are the standard plastic pots with plastic hangers. Lets face it , they are ugly! These look good and are available in colors that look good.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I chose this planter as it hangs close to a brick wall, and last year if I didn't water first thing in the morning, my plants got very stressed. With the water resevoir I shouldn't have to worry as much.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I live in Florida and am thrill with the self watering pots. They are very attractive and plan on ordering more and replacing all of my other hanging pots.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Finally my hanging baskets won't be dead from lack of water after my vacation! I just wish they were bigger pots & deeper for more plants - like the Victorian style hanging flower baskets. The current size would be excellent for indoor houseplants. The colors are great too. needs a chain for hanging, not too keen on the ropes it comes with.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use for both indoor and outside. Watering is time consuming, this is a help.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought 4 self-watering hanging planters to decorate my pool-side veranda. I left on vacation for a week and my flowers were healthy and blooming when I arrived home again. I didn't have to recruit a friend or neighbor to care for them in my absence...one less worry!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
With a full time job I don't always have time to "stop and smell the roses". These baskets keep the annuals on my porch thriving all Summer, even when I forget to water.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've had 6 of these planters for 3 or 4 years now and I love them. They're a great size, have never faded and the reservoir works well, especially in the summer. I would like to say that the pot can break. My husband bumped his head on one and a chunk fell out of the pot, making it useless. [...]

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Bought two and hung them right next to normal pots.
Planted tomato's in all. Growth in the hanging pots was stunted. Water drains down onto the plants causing problems. They never produced a single tomato while the pots right next to them were covered with them.
Don't waste your money on them.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these hanging pots at home and in the office. They really help inside plant health during the winter when it's very dry inside.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I got one of these when my hanging fern kept drying out and liiked sad and straggly. At first, I was worried because there wasn't as much space for dirt/roots as the fern had in the old pot. That turned out not to be a problem-within 4-6 months, the fern had tripled in size, and is as green and lush. I only water it every couple of weeks. SO I'm here to order lots more of these!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This planter was very attractive and I was impressed by the nice size.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've been looking for this type of basket since I've used self-watering ground units. It's so much better for the flowers to have a steady moisture supply. Easier on the gardener, too
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I am using the baskets for strawberries so the are up above rabbits etc. I also used them last year for cat nip - again to keep it above the cats.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This pot is great for plants on the west side. It gets over 100 degrees on that side of the house and the plant that I had in it held up so well even up to the end of the summer. The wind is a bit hard on it, making it twirl around a lot, but I am planning on buying more!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These pots are great hanging with cascading plants (the hummingbirds love the fushchias!) and make the heat of summer much more tolerable for the plants and the gardener with their water retention features. A strong base for the hanger is needed to accomodate the weight of the plants and the water - we found out when our first set came crashing down in a thunderstorm! It gave us a chance to get another set though, in even nicer colors and with the improved wicking feature.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought this hanging basket to replace a model that I had bought from Gardeners Supply 15 years ago, and which had finally kicked the bucket. I like most everything about this newer model such as the size, color, and ease of use.
However, there are three cons worth noting. The older model had a clear bottom. This enabled you to see how much water you had added and to see if the reservoir had run dry. I really miss that in this new model.
Second, the new model uses polyester cords for hanging. Because they are stretchy, it has taken some time to get my basket to hang evenly. The old model had chains, which I much prefer.
Third, I use a typical plastic indoor watering can to fill the reservoir (the kind with a slightly curved spout). The angle of the reservoir opening in this basket is such that it will not allow for a lot of tilt on the part of the can. The can must therefore be more-or-less full when pouring water into the opening in this basket.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We have 7 of them on out Lanai. With our beautiful plants, they add such beauty. We are always receiving compliments on them.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I will use this product next year, but it looks like a well made product. I am excited to try the self-watering device.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I purchased these this spring. Very impressed with how moist the soil stayed and didn't need to water every other day.
Hot Utah summers did not dry them out.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I had planted basil seeds and transferred store-bought pansies. The pansies became infected with white bugs, so I had to throw them out, but when I needed to thin some sage and parsley that I had started from seeds, they took to the pot beautifully. The only thing I'm a little nervous about is that I think the seedlings might be getting a little overwatered because I always keep the spout full. But time will tell! (FYI - I live in Brooklyn and grow everything in windowsills. This seems like a great solution for indoor gardening).
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This pot appears to be just what I required.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This is the first time I have ordered a self watering container. I love that the guess work is over on when to water. I would like to mention that nursery hanging baskets usually have a hook for hanging. Don't forget to buy some "s" hooks from the hardware store. The top of this item has a ring not a hook.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
If this works as well in the future as it does now, I'll be looking forward to buying more.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This pot has a large water reservoir that wicks water to the plants. It is pretty enough for inside or outside. I am glad I bought it.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I love these pots!!! Now I can go on vacation and not bother anyone to water my plants!! My award=winning tuberous begonias say thank you so very much!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Less watering
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The very best planters. Very attractive and easy to use. Eliminates frequent watering and a great time saver.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
It is the perfect size to hang to hang under the eaves of the garage. Not too big.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have bought these hanging baskets many times over the years. Recently I bought them in the dark green color. I love the way the plants look in them. They also are self watering so I don't have to pay much attention to watering, especially in the summer.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This pot is so nice for my plants and is the best hanging pot I've found online or locally. Very well made, heavy duty, but not heavy. My plants and roots are happy because I always seem to 'over-love' them with too much water. Also we are going on a 10 day vacation, and I won't have to even think about my plants suffering for water while I'm gone!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I purchased two self-watering pots to plant mandevillas after seeing them at a nursery. They look great in the pot, were easy to transplant, but wish the pots could be a little deeper. You can water and almost forget it for 2 weeks and just enjoy your flowers.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've had these hanging planters for three or four seasons. At least one winter, they were stored outside. They only give you a couple of days of watering at a time, but with the bottom hole they are easy to water. And they are very attractive. Some reviewers have expressed concern about the ropes. My ropes have held up fine for several years! In fact, when I first got the planters, I accidently snipped one of the ropes, so I repaired it with a section of twine. The twine deteriorated after two seasons, but the ropes are still holding strong!

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have been eyeing these self-watering hanging-baskets for a long time. I am often away for several days at a time and, seeing my ferns hang under my porch-line, they don't even get rain to help them out. I bought one pot last month and I'm about to order three more. It did everything I hoped--kept the plant watered while I was away, took the pressure off watering when I'm home, looked attractive, made watering much easier. Two things I hadn't expected: I transplanted the rattiest fern into the new pot and now it's by far the most thriving one! Also, my hanging ferns tend to dry-out so that water, when they finally get it, just rushes through them. Not any more!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The self-watering hanging containers are nice to have on our porch. I don't worry anymore about the plants drying out, or the water just flowing through the edges and not getting to the roots. The plants look healthy. The water level is easy to check with a finger in the "fill hole" --- if it's dry or low, add water! I did find it a bit tricky to put the water in the holes, but one of the lower-force settings on our hose seems to aim it about right.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
a lot of soil got washed ionito the resevoir
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I planted nasturtiums in it & they hung down in a lovely cascade. Very decorative & easy to pick the flowers & leaves for salads. Easy to water too!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The self-watering hanging pot is a wonderful product. I bought 2 last year and 2 additional ones this year. They are attractive, easy to add water, no messy drips on the floor, and plants stay healthy. It would be great if you offered similar pots for indoor houseplants that require floor pots.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These planters don't dry out as quickly. Easier to water with the reservois in the bottom. great.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have an area where I always keep hanging baskets. These are so easy to water and keep plants moist in the hot summer. I love this product and so do my plants.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
hAVE USED YOUR OTHER SELF-WATERING ITEMS AND THEY HAVE WORKED JUST FINE
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Holds lots of water as advertised but really needs to be kept filled through the bottom hole instead of watering thru the top. Didn't care for the hanging cord on this item as it is not easily adjustable like a linked chain is.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have two baskets! The flower in one is doing great! The flower in the other has died! I'm thinking it has more to do with how much sun each one it getting! One basket gets more sun than the other.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The pots are beautiful hanging outside my front door. Watering is now so easy and the flowers are growing beautifully.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these planters indoors, and my hanging plants have never looked healthier! The self-watering feature is so reliable, I can leave them unattended for up to two weeks. They are very well-made, sturdy, and retain their good looks even in direct sunlight. This is now the ONLY hanging planter I will ever use in my home!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These planters work well in that I can skip a day or two of watering, but I was disappointed in the cord from which the planter is suspended. It feels cheap, and it was badly snagged on both of the planters I purchased. Also, the planters do not hang level, though I tried stretching and reconfiguring the cords. Still, I didn't consider returning them worth the effort. Would I order again? Well, I would look around for better ones at local stores first.

Nothing but rave reviews on this product from Gardener's Supply! Excellent construction, happy plants - plain and simple. Instead of watering twice a day with regular hanging pots - I have cut that down a lot and the plants are thriving and very healthy. Thanks for all the amazing products!!

Great Item, I have 5 Baskets!!!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My new hanging basket is beautiful. It fits two impatiens plants, with plenty of room for them to fill out as they grow, so I don't have to transplant them, as I usually have to at this time of the season. I'm glad I purchased it, and look forward to many seasons of use from it.

The water reservoir in this pot is keeping my Portulaca alive and thriving in the Texas heat. We've had 52 days of 100+ degree temperatures and it still blooms each day!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've now ordered two of these -- one last year and one this year. I use one for hanging plants and one to sit in a raised pot stand in my garden (removed the cords temporarily.) This way I can move color around the garden as needed. Don't have to water very often.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I bought several of the self-watering containers last year. By mid-summer, they were all lush and full, while my ordinary containers were struggling, so I had to get more. Great results and less work--can't beat that combo.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I live in a dry climate and this makes keeping outdoor baskets much easier to keep alive.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These planters were used for hanging plants that are hanging in the front of the house. Makes both my life and the plants lives better!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Great indoors. I have also been using it outdoors. Major drawback is the design of an open hole for drainage and filling. Since we have a mosquito problem in the northeast this is a big concern. I wish there was a covering over it to prevent mosquitos from entering the water supply. I plugged the hole with a paper towel for the moment. I own the self watering planters and windowboxes. Their design doesn't allow the mosquito to enter.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Love this product! I have had 4 over the years. The 1st set are still usable, even though they have some wear & tear from the years. We have a very harsh climate for plants, but these have stood the test of time. We even had a tree frog "hibernating" in the water reserve for 1 winter. It was our new pet.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Not quite as good as described. We have had temps of 90-100 that required me to fill it daily. Before heat wave it needed filling 1x per week. I was never able to go the 2-4 weeks as indicated.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I haven't had to water my plants in the pots all summer and they're looking great.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Well we liked them so much, we are thinking of ordering 2 more.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I ordered these after losing two pre-planted nursery baskets to the wind on my condo deck. I chose them for the sturdy hanger. Big bonuse are that they are attractive and the water well cuts watering frequency at least in half. They are exactly what I was looking for.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These self- watering hanging planters are fantastic! Living at the beach with the constant wind and salt everything dries out or rots.I have replaced my hanging plants 3 times this summer until I received these pots. Now I only water every 4-5 days and my plant are beautiful!!! I am ordering more.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I potted several annuals for my 87 year old mother so she wouldn't have to attend to watering them daily. She simply uses her small watering can to fill the cavity, and the flowers so far (three weeks) are thriving. Next I plan to grow some English ivy for my daughter's indoor garden. I do wish the rope was a different color. black would be preferable because it would be less noticeable. KC
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
In central Minnesota and living out in the country, I have found it almost impossible to have nice hanging baskets on my porch. The weather/wind combination make it very difficult ot water the correct amount. It seems as though your very expense annuals either rot from too much water or die from the wind drying them out! This has been the perfect solution for my problem
I have only had the planters for one summer. I do not have the concerns about the string that others are having yet. Suggestion: I have purchased key rings for the end of my rope hangers. I can securely clip them to any looped hook and know that they are secure.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
My impatients were nearly dead - replanted them and they look wonderful - I can't believe that I didn't have to toss another dead plant!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Still new so I can't comment on how it will hold up but feels like good quality in general. Feels solid.

Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Used over an upstairs balcony indoors where I cannot have water dripping.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
It works well as far as the water reservoir goes. I needed the extra moisture source but it DOES make it heavy and I need a column or something to sit it on. A regular rod will not support the weight of the basket.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
vERY GOOD SIZE. tHE PLANTS LOOK SO GOOD IN THE CONTAINER
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have these Self Watering Hanging Baskets hung from brackets around the exterior of my home! They look great and go for several days before needing watered.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
THIS KEEPS PLANTS WATERED BUT IF FILLED IT IS TOOO HEAVY FOR MY HANGERS AND THEY ARE WROUGHT IRON HAD TOO USE 3IN. SCREWS AND THEY ARE NOW COMING LOOSE
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We have three of these pots hanging along our entry walkway. Occasionally the plastic will break probably due to weather and kids bumping into them from time to time. They look nice, hold water well, and obviously we really like them, because we replace them as needed.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
We used ours for herbs by the kitchen door, so we can just open the door and clip off some herbs for cooking! We can check the water level and make sure they are happy.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Used outdoors with a variety of plants. Have 4 located in partial sun. I only need to water once a week which is great when you work 'more than full time' a good distance from home. I like the small drainage opening in the bottom of the pot. This drains easy and allows an index finger to make sure the pots have not completely dried. I am very pleased and will probably buy more once a new hanging area is completed.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I live in Virginia where the temp is 80-90 much of the summer. I still have to water the hanging baskets everyday. So the amount of watering has not changed. Expected this basket to decrease watering time but it has not.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I do a lot of traveling and frequently come home to droopy hanging plants. With the self watering capacity of this hanging basket my plants are taken care of while I am away.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
So far these baskets have been great. I have many hanging plants on my front porch and get sick of watering them by climbing on a chair every two days. These pots let you put your finger in a port below and check if the water level is low. They stay full in hot weather for about a week. They look fairly nice, despite being plastic, but hey, they work. The plants inside them are thriving nicely. Would recommend.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
looks attractive on hook outside my patio.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I really like the large pots, but with alot of rain this year the pots holds too much water, with me gone several days as result the plants rotted. But still like the idea
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Use on my apartment porch "garden". Love the color (bronze). This was my second purchase of the same product.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Works well and looks good. I have 5 and they all look pretty good and simplify watering.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have three of these. The planters themselves are very sturdy and work well. However, after a couple years, the plastic clips holding the hanging ropes have broken, and/or the rope has broken. Sturdier hangers should be used.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I use these at my summer home and love them. I can leave and know when I get back my flowers will not be wilted or dead.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I used the hanging baskets for my petunias on the porch and deck. The baskets look pretty decent for plastic basket but don't do the promising job of watering "automatically". I still have to water my plants almost every day. The water is evaporating and not transferred like promised to the roots of the plants. I would not buy this product again and would rather spend more on a professional water tank used for hanging baskets in cities and parks.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
They are great for ferns!!! I have eight of them!!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Just put these into use hanging from an oak tree that has shallow rooting and does not allow the soil to grow anything. Plant seem to be doing fine.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
This is a really nice product. I transferred a plant from another pot and watered, went to lift it up to hang and wow was it heavy. I would recommend hanging it before adding water, and make sure you have a strong hook. I also found that in the hot dry Texas summer I still have to water this everyday.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Now you don't have to water your hanging plants every day to avoid the dreadlock look.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have used moss baskets in the past which are messy and don't retain the water as well. These baskets are sturdy and the water doesn't leak out. However, I do find that I still need to water them every day even though our weather has been in the 70's most days. I expected to be able to water less often which is not the case. The self watering containers are a big improvement over what I was using.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Outdoor usage and this is another wonderful product that Oklahoma should be selling. It has helped me with watering issues. I would love more but the products are expensive.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The only thing about it that I don't like is that I can't tell how full it is when I fill it & it can squirt water back out at me. I also can't tell when the resivoir (sp) is getting low.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The hanging basket has a unique watering scheme. It can be watered
from the top (using a sprinkling can). It can be watered from the bottom
hole (reservoir). Or it can be watered partially from the top, and finished off
from the bottom hole. It depends on the weather, and how dry the top surface is.
This is my third self-watering hanging basket, and the other two have been in use for several years.
They are real easy to maintain, as well as, easy to transplant new flowers as the seasons change.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
When base is filled with water it gets a little too heavy for an iron shepards crook, but looks very nice.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I've had four of these for 4 years and just got 3 more. they all still look and work great. I wish they had a little more water capacity but then maybe they wouldn't look so well balanced. they save me a lot of watering time and my plants would definitely die during the hot summer days if I didn't have them. I am a busy professional and don't have time for a lot of watering every day. my deck looks luscious and beautiful because of these containers.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I have always been pleased with the quality of the self-watering planters sold by Gardner's Supply and this one is up to the high standards. The plastic is not as attractive as ceramic, but neccessary for weight, and the color choices were nice and unobtrusive for plastic. I'm hoping my hanging fuschia will now grow big enough for camoflage! The only change I would have made would be to change the cord color from white to a dark color. Nice product.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
These hanging pots are great. I purchased 5 pots in the early spring - along with the recommended amount of Self-Watering Container Mix. I hung the pots in the same area that I used to hang clay and regular plastic pots (to compare outcomes). I saw such a tremendous difference in the growth of my plants, that I ordered 4 more pots and Mix. Thanks!
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
The basket hangs on a tree limb that is not accessible to a regular water line, so I can hand-water this plant every 2 weeks and keep it happy.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
used on an outdoor table after removing the strings as the back deck faces west and plants take a beating in the heat.
love the ease of keeping the petunias alive and blooming while I water at my convenience every few days.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
They seem sturdy enough to last as well as attractive.
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
Living in Arrid Colorado, these pots are a gread product to keep my flowers watered; handy to have when we go camping or are away as we don't have to worry about the flowers drying out in the heat of the summer. Other planters need to be watered every day during hot spells
Comments about Self-Watering Hanging Basket:
I was tired of buying flimsy planters without much root space. These are better quality and retain moisture longer than a day and a half like the regular store bought ones.
