This is exactly what I was looking for to replace window boxes that had to sit on a support. They are very attractive and function perfectly. If you had a longer size I would have preferred that but this works too.

These sit perfectly on deck railing and hardware is not required. Planting area is very good as they are wide. I used the aqua mats in them and they hold onto water even during hot weather.

So far, I love it! They are very snug fitting and held up beautifully in a major storm recently. This storm brought down many trees in our neighborhood and even blew off 3 panels of our neighbor's fence! The real test will be how the plastic holds up to the Georgia sun all summer. Since they are a bit pricey, I hope they will last at least a couple of summers. I will be sure to come back and leave an update!

Fills a niche for plants on 4" and 6" wide deck railings that is simple and elegant in design; takes least amount of space for its purpose; just slips firmly over railing and is secure; no need for hooks, hangers or screws; available in a range of blending or bold colors and almost looks like clay ceramic. To increase versatility: make some models that are deeper and/or ones that are self-watering to increase the kinds of spaces they could be used for. To me this is the most simple and novel product Gardener's offers.

You can't believe how great these look on our deck railing. I have a deck that sits atop our connected garage and I bought four of these planters in the bronze color. They fit the standard railing size perfectly and after I filled them this past weekend they are flourishing beautifully. Very sturdy, very modern. I couldn't be happier.

The labels were almost impossible to remove. A few of the drain holes were plugged and we broke a drill bit opening them.

This will be my first year of using the planters. I will know more about how they hold up, look, and drain, after this growing season comes to an end. Right now, they look pretty good on my deck railing, even the squirrels like to sit in them (smile)since it's too early to plant any flowers yet.

Wasn't sure if this would work on a concrete wall topped with bricks that are 2" x 6" -- but it fit on very well and is very stable. Thought the drain holes may be too small; so, drilled larger ones before installation. The Florida Jasmine I planted is growing well; and expect it will hang down over both sides of the wall. P.S. Love the unique Bronze color.

These are great. Our house overlooks a bayou and we frequently have a stiff breeze. Even without dirt these planters stayed on the deck rail and didn't move. I'm using them for herbs but flowers would be beautiful as well. I highly recommend these planters.

Since there is no such thing as 'enough' planting on railings gives me additional space to indulge in more flowers. I also have this product in the 2 x 4 size on my 100 plus year old front porch where it looks lovely.

Railing planters are part of my Gardener's Supply-inspired scheme for having tulips again. Deer made me give up tulips, and I couldn't even grow them in pots on our raised deck -- groundhogs climbed the stairs and helped themselves! This year I will fill railing planters with tulips and bury the planters in 3'x3'grow beds topped with a pop-up net. The grow beds will make it easy to dig, the net will protect the developing bulbs, and when the tulips are about to bloom, I'll dig the planters and install them on the deck railing, out of groundhog reach. I can't wait to see if this plan works, and I thank Gardener's Supply for finding all this wonderful equipment. P.S. I grew lettuce (2 crops) in grow beds under pop-up bird nets this summer with great success.

I filled mine with pink and white vinca plants in one box and burgundy petunias and white vinca in the other. Adds nice color to my deck. So far so good. No inclement weather yet or out there long enough to see how the sun will affect them.

We wanted to put window boxes on our railing of the front deck but didn't want the ones with brackets. Those always look like they are tilted forward and didn't seem sturdy enough. We love these and want to order a couple more.

Initially I needed to drill out the half of the drain holes that were not drilled (3 of 6) on each container. That should NOT be necessary. After that the containers worked to my satisfaction.

Planted two types of herbs that needed drier soil...therefore, the extra holes were needed but we used natural paper coffee filters over the holes so precious soil mix will not drain out.

I purchased four of these 2 x 6 deck planters in white to place on our deck because the pots that I had been using took up entirely too much space. I love these planters. Not only are they conservative on space but they are so showey. My flowers now stand up where even the neighbors can enjoy them. And the wind doesn't bother them which is another plus... Would highly recommend these planters to anyone...

Much better solution than previous boxes I had which sat on hooks that fit over railing. They tended to sag and occasionally got knocked off. These are attractive and fit securely. Plastic is heavy weight so dirt doesn't stretch the sides. Could use a bit more drainage (are a few small holes) and I am noticing a bit of moisure buildup under them. (Likely from rain and sprinklers)

We live on top of a ridge and I had concerns these planters would just blow away but to my amazement they stay put even during the worst wind gusts. Since the planters straddle the deck rail the flowers spill over both sides of the deck creating a beautiful view from both directions.

I bought the smaller version a couple of years ago and they are holding up beautifully. And at the end of the season they are light weight and easy to store until the following year. I am a big fan!

Soon after receiving ours, I saw the SAME planters for nearly half the price at a local garden center. It spoiled the pleasure of ours and will continue to until I can forget how much money was wasted. The planters themselves are beautiful and enhance the railings of our deck, discreetly, allowing the flowers to get all the attention: just the way planters should be.

Unlike some railing planters, yours have good width so plants can be placed next to each other to trail down both sides of the planter. The planter is also nice and deep so they stay moist longer and plants have room to for their root systems.
They also fit very well on the railing and are very stable.
My plants are doing great.

The planters look very good on our modern deck, and fit securely on our six inch wide railings. They're just a little snug and you have to wedge them down, which is perfect. I have no complaints about them.

The 30 in planter clings to the railing, but the 25in planter seems to wobble. I wish they were self-watering, though I am glad the water does not drip on the railing. I have lined the 5 planters all along my front entrance, filled with pansies to stave off winter.

The decks in our townhome development are quite close together, so these planters have provided us with great privacy and I don't have to worry about them blowing over or off in the wind. I also am pleased that they match the containers I previously ordered from you.

I have a mixture of green plants with a flowering plant in the center. It sits very sturdily on the railing around our deck. My only complaint is that one of the drain holes was not punched out, so we had to drill it out. Other than that, I am very satisfied with it, and plan to purchase a second one.

One product I have not been happy with is the biodegradable bags for the compost pail. Many of them come apart before you can even put them in the pail. It's been a while since I purchased these but I just never got around to saying anything about it.

I had already purchased two railing planters a couple of years ago and I liked them so much I ordered two larger ones for the end of my deck. The best thing about them (for me) is that they can take the high winds that blow through our area much of the time. I don't have to worry about the planters blowing off my deck railing. Since our deck overlooks the neighbor, the flowers in these planters are visible from all over. Also, by moving by plants to the railings I have more free space on my deck's surface. I can't think of one negative thing about these planters, they're great!

We are a "Regestered Wildlife Preserve" and use your product for plants and flowers that provide not only natures colors, it allows for food and water for many species of birds and squirels. One is used for fresh water, another for many seeds for birds etc.. the remaing are for flowering plants that provide even more food for butterflies and insects (benificial for most plants). One problem is, it should come with adjustments for a normal 2x6 (5 1/2")

Very simple installation and planting. Out of the box, set up and planted in about 15 minutes! Not to heavy to move later if desired. Adds that nice finishing touch around the decks. I have ordered and planted several of these and can see no negatives so far.

Besides using it for growing flowers it is great for growing a summer herb garden. It stays very sturdy on deck railing even during rainstorms. Loden color tone is very nice - not cheap looking. If it had a self-watering device it would be perfect!

I had wooden deck railing planters that were falling apart so I replaced them with your great railing planters. The size worked out so I can fit more flowers than before and the fit on the railing is incredible. These babies will not budge in a storm! This planter is the perfect solution, in that it's large enough to grow several plants, plus it's saddling design does not damage my deck. I've read that the lighter colors are preferred by most herbs, and my basil, oregano, chives, and parsley are seemingly in agreement so far.
