These Cortina planters have highly realistic finishes that mimic ceramic pottery, but they’re made of lightweight polypropylene so they’re easier to move. Hidden inside is a 1-gallon reservoir, water-level indicator and an easy-fill funnel to keep plants lush and healthy all summer long.

This is ok, but I repotted and removed the insert. The water goes stagnant very quickly in the heat of Southern New Mexico. I also had to drill drainage holes in the bottom to keep from drowning my plants.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
A little difficult to understand instructions at first, but I figured it out OK.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
My front entry is shady most of the day and the potato vines and shade plants look wonderful against the caramel color! AND I don't have to water it daily!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I am very pleased with the pots I purchased. They look so elegant. A far cry better than the cheapo plastic pots I used to have.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We have one of your hanging containers - it has a wick to draw the water up into the potting medium, and works well. The Cortina planters have no such wick, and the water just stays in the reservoir. When I empty the planters, I will install my own wick, but that should not be necessary.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Appearance is very nice and makes for very easy care of plants. I am using for flower planter on a south facing front porch. The plants are doing very well and I don't have to water daily.

This self-watering pot works well.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I now have 4 of the Cortina pots in both sizes. They are very well-made; in fact they withstood all our snow blizzards with no damage. They are lightweight, and easy to move, even with soil and plants. They will really dress up your patio or porch. The self-watering aspect is great since I don't have to worry about the plants drying out or becoming water-logged. The only thing I was disappointed in with the 2 I purchased this year, is that the matching pot saucer is no longer being sold.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I'm using the container to grow a banana tree. They reguire lots of water and the self watering container makes it easy to keep it watered.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I use this product to grow plants that need frequent watering. In Florida, it is necessary to water every day during the summer (if it doesn't rain). This pot allows me to be gone over the weekend without worrying. I keep the plant in this pot on the patio.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We have nothing but live plants in our home, but we travel a lot, so I'm always worried about whether they'll survive the next trip. I put two ficus trees in these planters and they're doing great. Plus, I don't have to run around the house watering as frequently.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I do many types of container plantings every season. These planters add color and dimension to our other deck planters. They fit nicely along the steps. I travel often so they do not get watered daily. So far (after 2 months) the plants are doing great! The water reservoir seems to work well. I will probably buy them again.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Self watering system is wonderful for those of us that have a sprinkler system for our flower beds and lawns but forget to water our container pots.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have eight of these planters in this size and two in the larger size. Six are on a sunny patio, two on a shady front porch and two are planted with citrus that I bring inside during the winter. The first have held up well now for a number of seasons - some were left out all winter in a protected area next to the house. I hate draging the hose aroung and these planters reduce the number of times that I have to do that. I've bought them again and again in three of the different colors. I recommend them.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We are using the pots on our deck and they look very nice. As our growing season has just started, we've only had plants in them for one week so I cannot comment on how well they water the plants. My only criticism is that the pots come without holes in the bottom. The instructions as to what size holes to drill and where exactly to put them were vague at best. My wife called Gardeners Supply and was told to use "average" size drill bits. And to drill "about" 4 holes on the bottom OR sides. Where exactly to put the holes on the bottom was not mentioned, nor were there any marks on the pots suggesting where to drill the holes. I drilled 4, 1/4" holes on the bottom slightly above where the pot rests on the tray. Whether this will work remains to be seen. I have a lot of tools so there was no problem drilling the holes but if someone without tools bought this item, it might be a pain finding someone to drill the pots for them.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Bought five of these for our back deck. We always put geraniums out there...The NC summers can be tough on plants. I've used the larger version of these on our front stoop. Once you get over the first install, these go together in a snap. Be certain to drill drain holes. I believe they work better if you trim the float another inch or so shorter to truly reflect the depth of the reservoir. They look great and should last a long time.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I just put plants in my pots yesterday so it is too soon to rate. The thing that was really frustrating was there were hardly any instructions with the pots. I don't understand what to do with the straw that is included. I had to go to the catalog and see how it was pictured to do my planting. Either you or the manufacturer should give better instructions.

I have three 16 inch planters and place geraniums in them each year and usually do not need to water at all during the summer. I also have two 20 inch planters that do require a little watering during the summer. I am using your container soil mixes with them.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
In our hot summers it is important to keep our
outdoor container plants watered daily. This
potting system is so simple to use and insures
my plants always have the water they need to
survive the heat. It is a bonus that they are
so light and easy to move and very attractive!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I purchased the blue and the rust colored pots and they are pretty and seem like they should hold up and do nicely on my deck with outdoor plants. Our growing season is just about to start here in NJ. I didn't realize that not only do I have to add the drain holes with a drill, then there is assembly of several parts for the self-watering feature. I bought the 16" and 20" size pots, only plan to use the self-watering assembly maybe for the big size ones. Clear instructions are provided.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We used this planter on our front porch, with a nice arrangement of plants in it. Previously, it was difficult to grow things there because I didn't always remember to water daily or even twice daily in some weather. Consequently, my plants tended to die. This year, the plants flourished on approximately weekly waterings, and we received several nice compliments on how nice the planter looks.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have it on my front porch and it is really visible from the street. It helps draw your eye up to the front door.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I forget to water, having the resevoir is WONDERFUL!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have used several of your self-watering containers, and they have solved my watering needs in the hot Iowa summer months. The pots offer consistent watering during regular growing days and prevent wilt and stress. But I really like them for long weekends away from home, and even use them for up to 3 weeks at our vacation home, depending on hot hot or wet the weather has been.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Daughter in law Magali has expressed her favorable comments of these pots so far. I do not garden any more but thought that she would really like them.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This Cortina planter is beautiful and practical. It looks so good on my small front porch and the color goes well with my home as it matches color I already have on shutters and front door. I am very pleased with this product.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Having purchased other plastic containers from Gardener's Supply that looked surprisingly like pottery, I was disappointed in this one. It's obvious, even from a distance, that it's a fake. As a self-watering container, it works great, but if you're looking for something that passes for ceramic, this one won't do the trick.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I needed planters that self water as we go away a lot! After 2 weeks my plants looked fantastic! The container looks like hand thrown pottery! Durable and attractive! I will only buy self watering containers in the future!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These pots come in great colors. The reservoir system works great. In combination with the Gardener's soil my plants are doing very well. The pots are light weight too so it's not a problem to move them around.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The Cortina planter is beautiful in color and holds more plants than I had thought. Using it on the patio and it looks wonderful. In the summer heat have to replenish the water more often, but all in all it is great!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love the rich color and durable finish. I have had several Cortina planters for over a year, now, and they have endured temperatures in the 'teens as well as in the low 100's. I cannot see any change in the material or finish. These planters are easy to clean inside, and shed most dirt on their outer surfaces. They hold plenty of soil for larger or multiple plantings, and the self-watering feature is a real plus for our Southern heat and dry spells. I now have about a dozen Cortina planters because we have rabbits! I decided to put my plants in pots on 2 landscape pavers in my flower bed so the rabbits can't reach them, thus negating the need for repellants, fences, scare tactics, etc., and making it easier for me to plant my flowers. My husband loves to watch the rabbits and I like to look at my plants, which were stripped by rabbits before I started using big, tall pots! I have seen the Cortina planters in a couple of stores here, but they must not be first quality since the ones from Gardener's Supply look so much better and don't have flaws. Their light weight is also a plus since I am 65+ and have a few ailments.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
My flowers stay looking good all summer, even on the hotest days.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
They look great on my new porch.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
the appearance of this planter is good, but compared to my windowbox and square self watering planters, this doesn't hold a candle!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I travel a lot and my patio plants suffered from lack of watering. Since using these planters, I have had lovely flowering plants all season.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I was inpressed with how light weight this pot was.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These pots seem to work well. You need to drill a drain hole in the bottom. The directions say drill several holes on the lower side. I just put one hole in the center of the bottom and it seems to work fine. We add water about once a week. So far we are very happy with these pots.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Good color for front porch, great size options to hold nice selection of plants and enough water when out of town. I purchased two more, because originals have sun-faded after 3 yrs outside but are still functional. I will purchase new water holding inserts for the old ones, because they cracked when I neglected to fully drain and bring them in before freezing weather.
Lesson learned: good idea to put pebbles in bottom for weight, around the water pan, to prevent blow over in winds.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Three of these planters, one small, and two large are perfect by our front entrance. I love how light weight they are.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Outside on balconies - in moveable plant stands so we can move them when the wind becomes strong. Watering is easy, filling a tube -- there is no spillage.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Easy to assemble, plant, and keeps plantings evenly watered. I purchased two to use on cemetery plots.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Bought this to repot a plant growing in a 12 inch container. At 16 inches, I thought I would have plenty of extra room. NOT SO! The self watering mechanism occupies a good deal of space near the center of the container. It was a struggle just to get the plant in. There is no wick. Container depends on evaporation to keep soil moist. Wound up taking the self watering mechanism out.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I bought several of these planters for use on my deck and front porch and I love them. I think the rust is a beautiful colour and the self-watering function really works. My plants thrived last summer and are off to a great start this this year with very little effort on my part.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have killed every plant I've ever owned -- and now my geraniums are doing OUTSTANDING in these self-watering planters. I love driving up to the house and my plants look healthy and happy outside. I check on them once a week. And, the Dark Garnet is beautiful. You would never know that it's not a heavy pot. I bought them as gifts for my mother on mother's day and she loves them, too.

I want plants on my patio but am often gone for periods of time in the summer . These pots help my plants stay alive while I'm gone. They last 5 days in moderate heat. Shorter if it's hotter.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Looks like a heavy ceramic planter but is light enough to easily move as needed.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love this planter, it looks like the heavy terracotta planters but is easy to move. The water reservoir is a big help for a busy mom who forgets to water. :)
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have 2 different sizes and very disappointed as far as the self watering feature. The cover on the tube won't stay closed on one and the other broke off. I have the window boxes and wish they used that system in these. One expensive plant died and the other is just hanging on. I should have listened to the comments prior to making my purchase.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I needed several pots for our back deck, and the lightweight design is great for moving them around, and less strain on the deck. Once they are filled with plants, it is difficult to tell they are resin.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Love this planter, but when you get days of rain, it changes from self-watering to a pond. One year I had impatiens in there which doesn't mind being submerged, but last year I should have had koi in it instead of plants. If it had a reinforced, screened drainage hole above the inside base over the reservoir, maintaining the water level would be much more manageable. Either that, or sell a planter umbrella that can be secured over it!

I was amazed when these pots arrived! I was hesitant to purchase them because of the cost and I dislike "artifical", "plastic" pots. But these are terrific! They look so real and the colors are as vibrant as any pottery I've seen. I can't wait to get them potted and in the yard!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These pots worked so well the past two years on my front porch beach house in RI that I bought another set. The annuals planted in May looked fabulous all summer long even without watering for 2 weeks in late July! I was really impressed with how well they last -- the 2-year old pots (blue) look as good as the new ones. I just covered them with plastic and stored them in a corner on my porch (zone 6).

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Love all the self-watering products, but this one is especially beautiful. Mine have been outside for almost a year now, including through the Minnesota winter. They still look brand new, and the plants last year in them were great. Many people have commented on the beautiful pots. I have both sizes in the bright blue. The only thing I would add to improve the product is a drainage hole in the side so that it wasn't possible to have too much water in your pot. I drilled a hole for this purpose. I fill the pot until water runs out the hole.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The finish is beautiful (I have the beautiful "Rust" color), hard to believe it is not pottery until you pick it up. Even filled with dirt and plants, very easy to move around. The design is fantastic - here in Texas summers are blistering, sometimes requiring daily watering of containers and hanging baskets. But with this product, I can go days without having to refill. Before, any travel during the summer meant coming home to dead plants. This product has given me freedom!
Design is very easy to understand and setup. I'l be ordering more!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The instructions say to fill the container with 4" of pebbles which means it is not really 3.5 pounds by the time you are done.
There is 4" of unusable space in the container so your established plants may need a larger size than you think.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I did not acutally order the planters for me. They were gifts. The people that have received the planters were very excited and have already planted things in them.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The color of the pot is made to look as if it is ceramic or terra cotta. The color is attractive, but unfortunately, the finish is very shiny and looks fake. A ceramic or terra cotta pot would never have a finish as shiney as this one does.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These planters look great and are good for people who travel and still want to have great looking potted plants.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These beautiful pots are easy to move around the patio and help keep plants going through those hot Texas summers. Paired with lightweight potting soil I can move these where ever I want without a struggle. The jewel tone colors help highlight areas of your yard.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
* Transplanted a 4 ft high fuscia tree into it.
* Lightweight and the self watering feature is
good.
* I had to cut a big groove in the rootball to
accomodate the fill tube, and that worried
me, but the fuscia is thriving.
* The round black cap attached to the fill
tube broke off before I started the
transplanting, it's flimsy plastic. I set
the cap aside and then couldn't find it! Not a
good design. I guess I'll put a 1 quart
bottle cap over it, but it's diasppointing.
Why the flimsy cap attachment of cap to fill
tube?

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I am bad about remembering to water my houseplants every day in the summer. The self-watering planters are exactly what I needed to solve the problem. The Cortina planter, in particular, is not only self-watering but it looks like a serious piece of pottery even though it weighs almost nothing.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We use them in sunny and shady spots and only have to water every week to 10 days even in the most extreme weather - cuts down on water and work
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I wanted a pot large enough and sturdy enough to hold a 3-foot cactus and this pot worked well. I also like that I do not have to worry about having someone water this plant while I am on vacation, since it holds so much water.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
A truly superb product. Even in sustained 85-90 degree weather without rain, I have had to add water no more often than every 5-7 days. Meets my every expectations and then some. As a result, I now have 4 of these planters, and I'll likely obtain more next Spring, given how often I am away from my home and am unable to feed planters every few days.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We travel alot and these pots allow us to have beautiful plants on our deck that survive! Only drawback is the 20" pot really needed an extension for the water tube. We put a small pvc pipe inside & notched it for water intake. Love the system!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Here in the desert southwest these pots are a wonderful way to keep plants healthy and beautiful when drip irrigation is not an option or not desired. My potted geraniums were the best ever, and plants that I take indoors in the winter are so much easier to move.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":

Living in the high desert of Arizona, it's difficult to keep large planters happy in the altitude and 100 degree heat, but these planters make it EASY! I've planted an Indian Hawthorne with Aptenia and a Japanese Boxwood with Alyssum and both look great and are thriving. Thanks for a great product.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I purchased this prodcut as well as the self watering windowboxes. I love the windowboxes - our plants have never looked better! However, this product does not have the same type of water reservoir as the windowboxes and the water does not wick up towards the plants roots. I planted purple wave petunias - which are quite difficult to kill. My petunias looked beautiful for 3 weeks and suddenly there were many dead branches and then poof - my plants were gooners. (We watered the windowboxes and the pots at the same time and monitored them. In addition, these items are all in the same location leading us to believe that this product is not quality.)

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Conceptually a great idea but the reservoir doesn't seem to do any good and takes up root space. I have tried adding a strip of cloth to wick up water. Maybe that will help. GREAT LOOKING THOUGH. We have five of them.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This is my fifth self-watering planter. They really help keep plants healthy in the hot south Texas climate. Little work and lots of happy plants!
And they look nice.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Well made, has a substantial well for water, refilling is easy. Since it is made of lightweight material it won't break my back when moving or carrying it.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We just had a 430 sq ft brick patio installed. All the patio furniture is in a neutral taupe color. My only accent colors are blue and a little olive green. The solar water fountain, area rug and plant containers are blue. I felt lucky to find blue planters. To have them also be self-watering was like icing on a cake! I would recommend the products at Gardener's Supply without hesitation.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I've used other planters and hanging baskets in the past, but when July and August come around my plants usually whither and die. I'm not one to water every day or even every week. These self-watering planters will hold enough water for a few weeks, even without any rain. My plants still look great after a summer of filling the reservoir only twice per month. And now I'm online purchasing a few more for myself and family members. The pot itself is very attractive and lightweight, even filled with soil and overflowing plants. Be sure to place it in at least partial sun to keep the water reservoir evaporating into the soil above. The self-watering feature doesn't work as well in the shade.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I live in the North (5)and have an indoor(winter)/outdoor(summer) hibiscus tree which needs VERY frequent deep watering. I travel a good bit and hate having to have my daughter-in-law drive in to water AT LEAST twice a week. I bought the self watering pot to help alliviate this situation. The first time I was gone for a week, I soaked the plant, filled the reservoir, and mulched with grass clippings. On my return, my hibiscus showed no signs of stress. (Usually when I return it is withering and dropping leaves with only two waterings a week!) So far I am delighted with the product.

Perfect addition to my gazebo platform deck. Great color and very lightweight. Only complaints are that I had to drill drainage holes and cut the float tube to fit. I don't have to water every day and the containers are in full sun.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We use several at home and at the cabin. We are not at the cabin every weekend, but the flowers do well without us, thanks to the self-watering feature - fabulous!!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":

I was a thrown by the price - but is it worth it now! These pots are just what a busy gardener (or one who forgets to water their containers) needs! I like the lightweight pot makes it easy to move. The self watering hasn,t started working yet. Maybe I water to well from the top.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Looks great! Cuts down on watering needs. I wish I could afford a ton more!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
It's tough keeping all my flower pots watered in a summer house when I'm there only on weekends. I've been converting all my flower pots to self-watering so I don't have to worry all week long. This is just one of many Gardener's Supply self-watering pots that work for me!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This is my fifth year out in the mountain desert of Utah and these containers are fabulous for our short, dry summer. I have color that I haven't had before and I plan on purchasing the hanging planters and whiskey barrel next season.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
As a relatively new (and somewhat lazy) porch gardener, I thought these planters would be perfect for use on my patio, and they are, except...did I mention that I was lazy? Drilling holes in the bottom for drainage, adding rocks, etc. was a bit much prep work. However, my plants are doing very well in them and my patio looks lovely! The prep was worth it!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
It took a while, but I thought I had put it together correctly. However, when I returned one week later, the plants were very droopy. This was in spite of filling the water reservoir, leaving the plant in the house with the air conditioning (I live in the desert (currently 110 plus in the day). The concept is great, but the execution wasn't.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The self watering reservoir does not work; this pot does not have the wicking feature that the other product does and the reservoir does not water the plant.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Great size, look and weight. Did not realize I had to drill holes and so lost my plantings in a terrential rain.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I use this planter on my front porch. It is easy to fill with water and I don't need to water as often as I use to. We had winds strong enough to blow down trees and my planter didn't tip over in the wind. It looks like a more expensive pot. I would love to have one for some of my other plants.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I set my planter on a short pedestal to keep it out of the dirt and put it in the vegie garden to add some color with flowers in it. I love the self watering feature and how light weight it is to handle.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I was a little surprised to find one of the two I ordered had a shiny finish and the other had a matte finish. That was not obvious from the description (or photo)in the catalog. The outer surface is a little fragile - be careful in handling it or you will have nicks and dings in the soft finish. Very lightweight, however, and easy to move even when filled with soil. They look impressive on my patio. Hope they make it through the winter without damage.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I like this pot because it is self watering. I'm not good to remember to water pots. This has been a great investment.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Purchased three large pots and three medium. The gold/copper-colored ones were really more dark brown -- thought they'd be ocher-gold as in the photo, but they're okay. Red and blue were true to photo. These pots are really quite attractive and go with everything else on the patio. Some of the thin paint/plastic coating must have come off somewhere, since I found large flakes on the patio, but I can't find the bare spots on the pot. So I worry about the durability of the finish. Also the watering tube could be a bit longer on the big ones -- I had to pull it up to the last notch for it to be even a couple of inches above the soil, and the tube is not stable in that position. Overall, though, I do like these pots and find them fucntional and quite attractive. We'll see how they do over the winter if I leave them outside...

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love the self watering insert, but the cointainer was very dissapointing in comparison to what the picture led to believe it was.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Looks great on my patio. You do have to check the water resivor, but it does cut down on having to water daily and so is good for being gone. You need to drill holes in the bottom sides of the pots for excess drainage. I wish they would come with the holes already drilled.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have planted dwarf apple trees and dwarf figs in the containers. Since figs must be moved to protection, a lightweight container is important.
But what is most important is that these are made in the USA - otherwise I could not have bought them!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Despite the easy breakage of the c. 2.5" black plastic cap that covers the water-holding vestibule, the cap doesn't disturb the most important function of maintaining a water reservior. In addition, a verticle straw-like water-stick rises when water is poured into the funnel providing a gauge as to whether the water-holding container is full or not.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I placed the pot next to my front stairs and plan on putting one on the other side next year.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I had bought these to flank the front door, but have found them very useful for areas where the soil is terrible but I wanted unepected color. We are new to this house and I am still experiemtning with plants and placements. I move these big pots and plants around like I move the furniture in my living room :) These pots make that process a breeze!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I admit I was skeptical when I first saw these advertised, but I purchased six Cortina 16" self-watering planters and I couldn't be happier. They are beautiful and simple to maintain. The Green (Teal) is a perfect color for our home.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I left for 2 weeks and all my plants died.
There was still water in the bottom but the soil was dry and my plants were dead
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Because the pots are so lightweight, they were blown over by the wind. I had to place them in a protected area to prevent this. I think they would work better if I started with smaller plants so they could become more established before getting a larger size which could have also contributed to them blowing over.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love the beauty of the pots, but I had trouble with the water indicator. The instructions could have been more clear or detailed.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I really like not having to worry about watering these plants everyday!

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The water reservoir was much deeper than I expected (about 1/4 to 1/3 of the pot), and there was no wick to connect the water to the dirt, unlike other self-watering pots I have bought. Also, no instructions on how to put them together, so it was a little hard to figure out. Pros: they are very attractive pots, and despite no wick, they seem to keep the plants well-watered, which is always a problem on a rooftop garden with southwestern exposure.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These are so lightweight, even when they are full of plants and soil! Easy to move, but fell over in a windstorm! Overall it looks nice, and works OK.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The cap of the self-watering tube won't stay closed. This allows water to evaporate much too quickly.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
excellent quality and beautiful as well
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
It is on my deck in full hot sunshine and it has been wonderful.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have several on my patio and deck area aruound the spa. They are elegant in appearance yet practical cost wise. Very easy to maintain and store easily. I will be adding to my garden flowering next year and will most s=certainly use these containers!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Due to an elbow injury, I am limited in how much gardening I can do. These pots allow me to water infrequently (1-2 times per week, thus far), limiting my need to carry a watering can. As a bonus, the bottom-up watering results in foliage unblemished by any diseases that overhead watering might cause.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
For those of us who constantly forget to water our plants, this planter is a great innovation.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The water reservoir stayed full, indicating the plants never reached it. Meanwhile the soil dried out regularly and had to be watered from the top. Worked much differently from the tomato planter, which we really found worked very well.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Great price, lightweight, and attractive. We are very happy with our purchase.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I don't feel the plants are getting enough water even though the reservoir if full. I followed the directions and used the potting soil that you recommended. Perhaps a strip of capillary matting extending from the reservoir into the soil would improve the wicking.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love the planters but the water reservoir is too far below the roots of many annuals so I have to water from the top anyway. I would love some suggestions to remedy this.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Love them....just worried about long turn durability. I guess I'll have to wait to know that.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Good product that could be made better.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Seems to work well.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have two of these wonderful planters out front of my house and the look of stone makes them go perfectly with my outdoor "decor" and people compliment me on them. i love them!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I filled one of these beautiful planters with a variety of flowers and let some cascade off the front side. It goes great with the color scheme of my home and my plants must feel as though they are in Heaven, they are so happy!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I own several of the pots in a variety of sizes. I like the slate color, but would like to see a true black version.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
My Sago Palm is thriving in the planter.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
use them for plants on the porch and sun room
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I purchased these containers for flowers but, since there is no hole in the bottom, I am rethinking the possibility of using one as a patio water fountain. The sound of water is so relaxing and a fountain can easily be installed.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These look great on my balcony, and since they are self-watering, my plants have thrived! I always forget to water my plants; before I had these, I would come home from work, and my plants would be looking pretty sad after one day of high heat. Now, they can go days (even a week) without me watering.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Great color and keeps soil moist. Plants thrive!!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
On hot front porch, these make beauty possible. Our daughter now has several.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The bright cobalt blue color looks quite spectacular on even the greyest days and the other colors offered are fine, too. The color hasn't faded in 3 summers; I bought another blue one to match some I already had, and they match each other.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I use several of these on my patio. I especially like the self watering feature and ease of use.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
The level indicator/fill spout is too near the center of the pot. The float is flimsy and hangs up instead of floating. I bought four and only two worked the first time. I am very disappointed.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Very easy to put together and use. It takes awhile for the root systen to grow down into the water reservoir so you have to initally water the surface potting soil as well.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
We purchased two blue planters this spring, filled them with an assortment of annuals, and put them on our front steps--and have received LOTS of compliments about how pretty they are. I love the fact that they are lightweight and easy to move around. The funnel makes it easy to fill them with a watering can.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I like the self-watering reservoir -- very helpful in the hot dry summer! It looks great on the porch! I have the blue one and may purchase another!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I really like how light-weight the pots are-- even full of moist planting mix, they're still easy to move around.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These containers look like they are heavy, high end, expensive pots, when , in fact, they are light, easy to move, and perfect for anywhere you want a planter of color placed. I have them on the front steps of my home, and they are gorgeous! Fill the reservoir and experience no dry plant worries!

was somehwat hard to figure out how to put together, although got help over the phone

[...]These are a big time saver when it comes to watering. I have one on my dock, which is 100% sun coverage, and the water supply lasts a long time (even more with some rain activity).Next year, I will be purchasing more of the same.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I had previously purchased two of these colorful planters. My wife found a corner where we could dress it up with a beautiful planter. And with the built in reservoir, watering is not a chore!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
this is the best thing since sliced bread!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
attractive and works well
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
These attractive containers are attractive and easy to use. They keep your plants watered even if you are away for a few days.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
tops don't stay down
don't have to water as much, save water
use in places that usually forgot before and plants still alive (ie. top of driveway)
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I would not garden with outside containers if I did not have your self-watering pots. I use them and I give them for gifts. I can't say enough good about them.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This product is very lightweight but it looks like a heavy ceramic pot. It was much bigger than I imagined from the description.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I planted my hydrangeas in these self-watering pots. Hydrangeas loves water and these pots saved me a lot of time from watering these plants frequently.
The only thing I am concerned of is the rim of the pot. When I moved the pot, I could feel my fingers sinking into the rim as the rim was hollow.
I hope the pots will weather through the winter. I would love to buy more of these pots.

Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This planter is a good size for my landing area of the steps leading up to my deck. It's an area that in easily skipped in watering, so the water reservoir comes in handy.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I was so disappointed with these planters. I bought two of them, and even purchased the "self watering container mix" hoping to cut down on my daily watering, but they just didn't work. I'm not sure what the problem was, but water wasn't getting to the soil/roots. One of my lovely plants died within a week of being potted. They are fairly attractive, so there's that.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I now have three of these pots. The watering system isn't much good when the plants are small, and when they grow large they cover the watering system so I don't even use it. However the pots are so nice I'll probably buy more.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I have quite a few of these planters. They look wonderful grouped together on the patio and are lightweight and easier to move around than pottery planters, but my friends cannot tell that they are not real pottery!
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I love these planters! The look like pottery planters but are much easier to move around. I am going or order additonal self-watering reservoirs for my other containers that do not have them. I will absolutely buy more Cortina planters.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
This is my first experience with a self-watering container. I can't believe how great it is. I filled it with Wave petunias, Dusty Miller and Dracena 4 weeks ago and haven't had to add any water yet. I wish all my containers were self-watering.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I am using it on my front porch facing west with lots of afternoon sun and it keeps the plants moist and is easy to tell when more water is needed. Friends have found the planter attractive.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I also have the 16" size of the planter and it is much better. The size of the watering tube and water level measuring tube are the same as the 16" and are perfect for that size. Too small for the 20" I recommend buying the smaller 16" pot.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Fantastic for my decorative plants and herbs.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Living in the deep south where everything needs water daily, we went away for a long weekend and came back to our plants looking as good as when we had left.
Prior to this, anything potted was very droopy upon our return(if not dead)
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
I've had a blueberry bush growing in one of these planters for over a year on a balcony. I wintered it over outdoors and had no problems at all. I don't worry about watering even when I'm out of town for a week to 10 days.
Comments about Cortina Planters, 16":
Easy to assemble. You have to buy the soil with this pot. Once planted, you do not have to worry about the plant getting enough water or not enough water. It is perfect for a person who travels a lot who does not want to worry too much about watering.
