Even up close, these pots resemble substantial pieces of pottery — until you pick them up and realize they're made from lightweight polypropylene with a high gloss finish. Unlike pottery, these pots won't crack or chip. Inside, a hidden 1-gallon water reservoir reduces maintenance and helps keep plants lush all season long.

  • Lightweight pot looks just like clay
  • Perfect for bold flower displays
  • Hand-painted; colors may vary slightly
  • Choice of Brick, Black, Mocha or Blue
  • Our is the perfect planting mix!

yes, you will have to drill holes, but it's really easy to do if you have the right tool (and handy husband).

Oh, you'll need to continue watering until the root system reaches deep enough.

I had been looking for pots for my indoor plants without the leaks or pot plates top protect the floor. These fit the bill perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Comments about Rim Planters, 19":

These pots are great! We have them on a second story deck where they have to withstand much wind and heat and they really keep the plants moist. The pots themselves are really pretty and nice and light to move around as well.

Comments about Rim Planters, 19":

These pots look good but that's about it. They don't keep the soil moist. I can't tell that any water has wicked up into the soil. I keep having to water it. I bought two different sizes and neither of them work as described.

Comments about Rim Planters, 19":

I got two of the 19 inch pots in brick as outside container gardens for an elderly person who cannot water every day. I have purchased other types of self watering planters in the past and I feel that they can be categorically difficult to assemble, if like me you are not super mechanical -- but these were no more or less hard to use than others. The hardest part was drilling a drainage hole on the bottom, which I had not expected to need to do (had not brought a drill with me) -- it is probably good to leave that an option, it was just unexpected in an outdoor planter that could get waterlogged. We are warned that the colors vary, and mine did not exactly match the photo, but it was nonetheless very lovely and in the brick palate. I am extremely happy with the color. Sometimes planters of similar material from misc. vendors come with little chips and irregularities but these were in perfect condition and looked like quality. Another surprise was the height -- they are taller than I expected. I wanted to use them initially for early Spring pansies at the top of the steps near the front door, but it is hard to see the pansies over the top at that height so I changed the placement to a lower area. I expected them to be shorter and wider. So all in all a few surprises with getting the pansies out, but my elderly person and I are nonetheless very pleased with the end result. I would order these again. [...]

Comments about Rim Planters, 19":

I have used these pots outside but my Christmas cacti have grown so huge these large pots are perfect. In terra cotta pots I had a real problem with water containment and drainage = mostly over my floors! With these pots I can water and if I on a trip I know the plants are getting sufficient water from the holding area.
