With my Husband's help, I can now EASILY move the very heavy ceramic pots so typical on patios in the Southwest. I use the pot lifter to move several large and very heavy potted plants from the patio to the garden shed (and vice versa) throughout the winter. I live in the south where winters are mild so plants only have to be indoors during really cold snaps. This pot lifter makes it very easy to move all the pots and it really saves your back from bending over too much. The shed is quite a distance from the patio and moving the pots without this pot lifter was always a huge pain, but now it's a piece of cake!

I have wrestled with my large clay pots for years, moving them in and out of storage, usually on plastic sleds - one of us pulling, the other bent at an awkward angle trying to steady the pot over uneven terrain. This is great for moving large potted plants. The label states it is also useful for moving other large heavy objects, but it only works on objects that have a small base relative to the top. Had it worked for other items, I would have given it 5 stars; as it is, it'll only get used in the spring and fall when i transfer my plants in or out.

Something tropical plant lovers in New England deal with (painfully) is seasonal movement of many heavy and sometimes, large pots...that typically require begging the reluctant spouse to help or move for you. This is one gimic that works! Even my husband said, "Wow!" ...after moving my large potted Key Lime tree with no effort at all, when he used to labor over that and dread it. I bought it because other gardeners rated it well, and they were right. Great price too. Sturdy material and a cinch to quickly get it around the item to move and off. Weight training has taught us to lift smarter! The PotLifter has made it possible for my husband and I (in our late 50's/early 60's) to move huge and heavy pots on and off our deck. I fill an average of 20 pots - most of them too big to carry once potted - each spring and overwinter many of them in my 10'x10' portable greenhouse, in my garage, or in the house each winter. It isn't possible to move most of these pots by myself and my family members dread pot-moving time twice a year. I've even hired the local nursery to come and move some of the bigger ones. My husband and I (in our late 60's and 70's) used this product for the first time and saved our backs and arguments. Over the winter, we place our potted palms and Hibiscus' in our basement(which is equipped with timed growing lights). They are quite heavey and bulky to transport upstairs during the spring. However, the pot mover enabled us to carry these large, heavey, plants upstairs and out to the yard with very little strain on our backs and relationship. It does have a learning curve, e.g., the tension on the pulling straps and the placement of the plastic grippers around the pots -- but we got the hang of it by the second pot. We highly recommend this product.

We had to really wrestle with some large pots that contain seasonal trees last year when it was time to bring them inside to protect them from the New England winter (hibiscus, lemon, tropical house plants). This worked beautifully when we brought them back out for the spring/summer. You still have to be strong, but the adjustabiity of the girth and the ease of lifting with it allowed us to move everything back out without any ibuprofen at all!

I have a jade plant, more like a jade tree, that we move outside for the summer. Now weighing about 70 lbs., it was destined to be left outside this year as my husband just cannot lift it anymore to bring it back into the house. I got this potlifter to mover my tender plants and tropical indoor during the fall. I love how easy it is to use. There is a 13 inch discrepancy in height between my husband and I and yet we were able to use the product to lift large pots. We also noticed that we could use it to lift heavy rocks too. The biggest drawback is that you cannot operate it by yourself.

I am an avid container gardener living at Lake of the Ozarks where each fall I move over 30 containers of tropical plants into my greenhouse.
