Works great. Keeps the small birds happy and the big birds and squirrels frustrated. Would like to see more bird feeders to select.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was spending a fortune filling my birdfeeder every other day (feeding squirrels, not birds). This new feeder seems to be squirrel-proof, and my yard is now the new hangout for many different species of birds. I am very pleased with this product.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is so interesting to watch the birds go in and out. It's one of the first things people comment on when they visit our home.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This bird feeder is the perfect choice for keeping big bully birds out! I've tried a lot of feeders for song birds, but the big birds always seemed to know how to get to the seed and scare the little birds away. I love to see a variety of song birds sharing the same space - I've counted up to 8 birds eating in this feeder at the same time!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I loved this bird feeder until the entire bottom rusted out of it and the feeding tube fell out. The squirrels were deterred but figured a way to hang onto the side of this feeder and shake the seeds to the edge of the feeder so they could get them.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The feeder is for small birds that like thistle seed, but the thistle seed is too small and falls right OUT of the feeder. Can someone recommend the type of seed to put into this feeder....maybe a small sunflower seed?
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Finally, a feeder that keeps out the squirrels and large birds. The wrens and finches are thrilled. I think they're laughing at the starlings!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Perfect! A product that does what it advertises!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We bought this feeder because the grackles were going through the food in our existing feeder in about 2 days. This new feeder is great for small birds, and so far it has kept out the gray squirrels, too.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is the perfect feeder. I am no longer feeding the big birds that I don't want hanging around my yard. The finches and chickadees can now eat undisturbed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Our blackbirds are very determined to eat from this feeder. I ended up weaving metal screen in the bottom two rows because the birds hung upside down and put their head thru the openings and ate off the bottom. Also, they could eat thru the top row so filled up to that point. Otherwise, it is the best I have found.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The songbirds love this feeder and it keeps the squirrels away pretty well, especially if you hang it from a long chain. The lip did not fix tight and would come off when birds would use it, often causing them to fly away. I fixed this problem simply by bending the taps inside the lid to an angle until the matched up with the top to the globe feeder. Now the birds can fly in and out and eat until their heart is content!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The feeder is a good size and my Yellow finches
like this feeder.
I drilled a hole through the top of the feeder to
accept a set-screw to secure from squirrels before
hanging. Squirrels can hang on the side of the feeder and get seeds from the bottom section of the feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love the bird feeder. I have been trying to attract chickadees but they have never stayed around because of the more aggressive bigger birds. This feeder allows small birds to feed and keeps big birds out. The yellow finches love it too. I looked everywhere for something like this, they were all too expensive. Yours is perfect.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It took to birds awhile to figure it out but they love the feeder and it's fun to watch them

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This product arrives fully assembled. The top is very easy to open and close...no fumbling with screwing or unscrewing lids or trying to hold it between your knees while you pour sunflower seeds in. This is a great bird feeder and is a favorite of the yellow finches already, as well as nuthatches and chickadees. A+
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I like the look of the feeder, very nice. It took a while for the smaller birds to figure out the shape and does keep out the squirrels. The larger birds were not happy but did get the seeds that dropped. Perhaps a larger bottom pan to catch the spilled seed.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
After the birds figured out how to get in and out of it, they flock to it. I needed to add a baffle under it, as the chipmunks were able to crawl up the pole and leap across to it. Now it's just the birds who enjoy it and we love seeing them duck in and out.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Only problem is the way the lid id made. My squirrels have figured out how to open it!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I've always had problems with squirrels and starlings, etc. at my feeders. This feeder accommodates all the small birds and ,so far, not one problem. I love it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Its works great and the larger birds who tend to dig all the seeds out in other feeders cannot get into this one. Squirrels also cannot get into it. Only the smaller birds such as finches can get into it

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder actually makes it EASIER for squirrels to get in. Instead of hanging upside down on a traditional feeder, our squirrels just jump inside and have a nice cozy place to sit while eating.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Seems to keep the squirrels out and lets the small birds feed in peace. Attractive and easy to use.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
At first, the birds were afraid of it, but once some of them tried it, the others followed. The squirrels are able to get to the seed on the bottom "pan", but after that is gone, they seem to leave it alone.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Woould be better if top were to screw on like a jar top as we have had squirrels turn the top to get into the sunflower seed. Other wise we love it as the above hasn't happened often.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The feeder is easy to fill open and close.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
My cats and I can now enjoy watching the variety of small birds that come and feed and that aren't chased away by the blue jays, cardinals and squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I've been looking for an item like this for a while. I had a similar feeder which I used to hold woodpecker mix; however, the squirrels kept eating all the nuts and seeds. This feeder keeps the squirrels out but allows downy woodpeckers, chickadees, wrens and nuthatches in. I've also seen red-bellied woodpeckers at the feeder. They can't fit their entire body through the cage, but they can fit their heads in far enough to grab the food in their bills. The only thing that could be improved is to make the holes in the feeder cylinder a little larger. The birds have to break up a lot of the nuts before they can get them through the small holes.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Easy to fill. Squirrel-proof and durable
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The globe feeder does keep out the large birds like grackles and blue jays. the down side is that when filling it a lot of seed spills out. If the mesh in the column was a little smaller I think it would be a 5 star product. Mike V. Erie Pa.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
good
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have put it up but the small birds are not using it much. The big birds can not get in.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Since they aren't the brightest bulbs, the squirrels still check out the feeder, in case the old one returns, but quickly give up.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The holes are too large to add finch food to the bird cage. Picture in magazine is showing Finches feeding from the full container, that is impossible. Very misleading. I am very disappointed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This product is perfect for the Painted Buntings that winter here. The design does discourage squirrels from feeding on it. They try and soon move on.
Backyard bird bullies seem quite annoyed that they can't get to the seed, but soon go to the other feeder. It is sturdy and very easy to maintain. I plan to have another one available to the PBs for the next winter migration season.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Easy to fill, attractive to look at, birds just seem to love it
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Small birds loved it right away. No Squirrels or black birds could get at the food and they
decided to leave my yard. I rarely see any at all.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds are very comfortable flying in and out of the grids. It saves seed by not feeding unwanted black birds. Smaller birds have a chance to eat without a lot of competition from larger birds. I bought this feeder for my parents who enjoy it so much, I bought one for myself!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This awesome feeder is near our patio where we sit morning and evening watching little birds feed. What a joy to have something that the little species can get into so they have their share of the feed!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
A great feeder.... have to be careful of the snow collecting in it, otherwise it works just fine, and keeps the larger scavengers out so that the smaller birdies have a chance. I love it so much that I purchased a second one for a friend. It also frustrates the hell out of the squirrels!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Great feeder for the birds but I did have to anchor the lid of my last one which is the same. The squirrels figured out the lid but after securing, no problems and the birds love it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This seems to be safe from squirrels, Western Scrub Jays, starlings, and crows, but a raccoon can get into them if they are not hung on a slim branchlet that is too lightweight to hold a raccoon's weight.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Because we have so many Red Winded Black birds I had to add 2 wraps of wire at the bottom and 1 at the top to keep the large birds from sticking their heads thru the openings. A hot glue gun was used to attach the additional wire wraps. Now the smalls birds enjoy it with out interference.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is just what I expected. Sure keeps the blackbirds out.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
There is a design problem. Squirrels can reach the seeds in the tray without much difficulty. Maybe if the tray were higher up in the cylinder, the sunflower seeds would be less accessible.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's perfect!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Not only is this a functional feeder, it is so cool to have hanging in a tree. We put ours in a weeping cherry tree and now that it is in full bloom, it is like the finches have their own private dining room!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Having the bale attach to the feeder means that if the lid fails, the feeder doesn't fail and can still be hung. I am not concerned about it not holding thistle seed. My finches sees very happy to eat sunflower seeds. My free range chickens also like the seed that is tossed out by the birds! I don't have to mow under any of these feeders. I have 4 of them and love them.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The look is attractive and the outer globe does allow small birds in while keeping larger birds & rodents out. HOWEVER, the holes in the screen which contains the food are too large to hold thistle seed (food for yellow finches). So the product is useless...
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I got this feeder to give to my dad for Christmas. This has gotten him interested in watching birds. He has enjoyed them very much. This is a very low maintenance feeder that is easy to fill and easy to clean. It is very pretty too and matches my dad's house perfectly! Thanks!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought this for my father and he absolutely is enjoying watching the birds eat and laughing at the way the squirrels try to get into the seed without any success. He says he has spent hours watching and laughing! Worth every penny! :-)
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Great for the small birds. Keeps the bluejays out.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I received my Globe Feeder recently and discovered that a very clever squirrel, who obviously loved a challenge, proved that it was nt as resistant as I had hoped. It opened the top and was having a good feast until it heard me. You should have seen how fast it acked out of there!
I had hung it underneath a dome and the squirrel had to leap sideways off a tree branch to reach the Globe. So it was really clever,It was probably desperate as well due to an unusually deep snow here in Virginia.
Enclosed are photos of squirrel inside globe and of my modification. As you can see, it chewed the black coating off the wire down to the copper after the modification.
This was a amusing experince and I wonder if anyone else has reported a similar incident.
Yours Sincerely
Claude A. Broughton
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's so interesting compared to ordinary feeders. Watching the birds figure out how to use (and they do) it is so entertaining.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
OUR OTHER FEEDERS FREQUENTLY GET TAKEN OVER BY THE BLUE JAYS SO ITS NICE TO HAVE SOMETHING THAT EXCLUDES THEM
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love this Globe cage feeder. I'll continue to give this as a gift for special occasions.
Anyone who enjoys observing small, colorful birds will be elated. This is for the birds..the best feeder!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was disappointed to see that it was made in China.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Birds love it, but it did not take long for the squirrels to figure out how to open it. I have to use a flexible piece of clothesline wire to wire the top on. I suggest that the top be redesigned to screw in. Otherwise, it is attractive and attracts a lot of small birds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought this as a christmas present for my boyfriends parents who have tons of birds with the problem of squirrels. Turns out the squirrels fit perfectly in the globe and actually have problems getting out after feasting on the bird seed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was looking for something where the birds would have a chance at the seed before the squirrels got it all and this works wonderfully. The squirrels completely ignore it and the little birds at least get a chance at something to eat. The lid is a little difficult to get off but I eventually get it and the squirrels could never get at it like that so it doesn't bother me.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Delighted with the product. Definitely keeps the greedy jays out. Small birds figured it out right away. Only drawback is that the seed container is an open basket, rather than a plastic cylinder. I will use it less in rainy weather because the seed can get soggy. The open basket also makes filling it a bit messy, but I will figure that one out. It would be good if the "basket" word was used in the catalog description.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Absolutely stopped squirrels and blue jays
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Bought this as a gift for my parents in upstate NY who have other feeders and were constantly chasing off jays and crows to give the little birds a chance. It took a couple of days for them to get used to it, but now the nuthatches, finches, and titmice get their fair share while the big birds use the other feeders.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Works well since I fastened top with a chain to stop my squirrels from taking the top off. I also added a baffle to my pole to keep out the chip-munks. One plus is that I have an entertaining video of a squirrel removing the top before I secured it. My rating would go up if the top is made more secure. I would recommend it to a friend but include a warning about the top.
Top with chain

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Really works; allows the yellow finches, small birds to feed, and keeps the blackbirds out.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Among the best feeder I have used over the years.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We used safflower seeds in ours. We normally have a problem with squirrels, and so far they have left it alone. The birds seem to love it. Too soon to say if it is durable, but looks to be. Looks very attractive hanging on a large hook in the yard. Would buy again.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This seems to do just what I was looking for. It gives the smaller birds a chance to get some food ahead of the squirrels. Though the lid did not look to me like it would be squirrel proof, so far they have not bothered this feeder, or hung around it. That in my book means squirrel proof. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 is that while I have no proof it won't be durable, it is fairly light weight, and I worry it won't be. I would definitely still recommend this to a friend.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We bought this for my in-laws and they have loved watching the birds feed off it. It has attracted nuthatches, sparrows, and other small birds
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We have been bombarded with huge flocks of black birds. They storm the feeders, devour the seeds and drive the sparrows and goldfinches away. But NO MORE! They can't get to the seeds with this feeder. The small birds can feed in peace and it seems to me they're thumbing their beaks at the big birds. We love this feeder and plan to buy more of them. Thanks!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Not really pretty like the Victorian Feeder with Pole stand, but that stand is flimsy. Effective, and the birds don't care about the lack of "cuteness".
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The cage is hanging on a swing arm from the deck railing. It was a bit difficult for birds to retrieve the black oil sunflowers from the size hardware cloth. I've substituted sunflower nibs and pieces. While some leak out, the birds seem to be happy, both in the feeder and below.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
So excited to find such a good lucking bird feeder that keeps away the squirrels!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
So far, so good -- the squirrels have tried to get into it but, so far, no luck. However, my neighbor says they've figured out hers -- we hope for the best.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is a great small bird feeder. Small birds love it. Looks good too. And their antics cause some seed to spill to the ground to the delight of ground-feeding cardinals.
However, the opening cap at the top of the cylinder does _not_ prevent squirrels from removing the cap and feeding upon the entire contents of birdseed in the cylinder! It doesn't take much for an "inventive" squirrel to remove that cap.
To prevent further squirrel feasts, I tied-down the cap w/ a piece of small flexible wire; thus, no more squirrel problem. I believe, though, that the faulty cap situation should be taken care of by the manufacturer not the buyer.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds like this feeder, it's easy to fill even in bad weather. I haven't seen any squirels around. Drain holes in the bottom are not large enough.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is almost perfect: the squirrels were very frustrated until they learned how to open the top and then they sat there and dined! I secured it with a large paper clip and some needle-nose pliers but they were able to twist it loose and open it again. I now wire it shut so tightly it takes me ten minutes, and the pliers, to open it to re-fill - still, it's better than anything else I've found.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This does keep the larger birds out and lets the smaller birds get some seeds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Excellent choice to keep the larger birds out and cater to the smaller birds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Keeps the big birds out.. which is what I was looking for.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I like the looks of it and the squirrels haven't yet gotten into it but neither have many birds. Time will tell,I bought 2,1 for myself and 1 as a gift.I should ask the gift recipient how it is working out for her.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's a pretty feeder without the birds. Add the birds, & it's a delight! I have it suspended under a balcony and it's extremely popular. My indoor cats are entertained as well! A bear snagged it once, and the inner mesh was bent a bit, but the outer globe was undamaged. A great feeder all around.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I gave this as a gift and received positive feedback. It took the little birds a while to catch onto it, but once a chickadee tried it, others, including a downy woodpecker, followed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Our pesky resident squirrel has finally been frustrated! And even when the feeder is empty (the birds love this thing),it is an attractive addition to our yard. We love it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's too small for the birds in Miami. They try to get to the seeds, but it's impossible. I thought it would work to keep out the squirrels, which it does, but it doesn't let birds in. Maybe up north the birds are smaller. It is attractive though.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love that it keeps the big birds out.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We haven't had any problems with squirrels getting to the seed. Took a while forthe birds to figure out; they'd land on outside globe and flutter around until they figured out to go "inside" for the seed. Now we're enjoying all the activity outside the window.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This product was purchased as a gift for an avid bird lover. It turned out to be a little larger than I expected, but she loves it. I would definitely purchase another one.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I gave this to my husband for Christmas and it was a hit. It's unique and attractive in the window, and our birds--finches, chickadees, and red-breasted nuthatches took to it right away. Every once in a while I will spot a little downy woodpecker inside, too. The blue jays and the seed-throwing hairy woodpeckers and red squirrels have left it alone so far! I think I will get two more for other family members. Great item!
The globe feeder is a popular dining spot.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I really like this feeder, at first the squirrels were not successful in getting the seed. But the top is too easily removed-it should have a better closure. I've had to wrap metal wire around it to keep them from taking the top off.
[1 of 1 customers found this review helpful]
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder has a great design for selectively feeding small birds. However, small seeds pour through the wire mesh. Larger seeds, such as safflower and sunflower, are retained better. Even so, expect most of the seed to end up on the ground
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Gave this as a Christmas gift to a friend. She seems delighted with it and it works well for her.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Attractive birdfeeder for the yard. The birds love it & the squirrels are kept away.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Great - but latch needs to be more foolproof for our very smart squirrels!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
the shape is pleasing to the eye out my breakfast nook windows.......the small birds of all colors are safely enjoying the feast daily
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
in just a few days we've gotten some great birds using the feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder attracts all the right birds - I have seen five or six of them in the globe at the same time. The fun part is watching the squirrels try to get in - this is something I will buy more of in the future for other parts of my yard!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
squirrel proof almost
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I just love this bird feeder and so do the birds. The pesky squirrels are not happy so that makes it perfect!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Pumpkin seeds and other medium sized seeds will fit nicely in the mesh. Sturdy metal. I'm going to hang a clear squirrel baffle a few inches above it to keep the seeds dry. It's very good price for the product.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Combined this with other feeder on double shepherd's hook outside window. Many kinds of small birds can access but squirrels, so far, have not succeeded. Have seen nine small birds feeding at once. Other feeder cares for robins, cardinals and medium birds. Easy to clean & refill, normally, but latch must be struck to free in winter ice. Good buy for our climate.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is an awesome feeder. It's fun to watch the squirrels try to get into it. They can only get food off the bottom tray. The little birds go right inside. We love it!!! I bought one for Grandpa and one for Dad for Christmas and we love em!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
the one change i'd make is that the central tube feeder's grids are kind of large to hold the types of seeds that the finches/chickadees like best. this feeder would NOT work for nyjer and is touch-and-go with sunflower pieces - many fall out on to the ground during feeder filling and while birds feed, attracting squirrels to the area underneath.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Design is both durable and attractive. Birds love it and squirrels haven't figured it out, in more than a year. Only flaw is that the inner screen tube that holds the seed has large openings, so some smaller seed spills, particularly during filling. Best with sunflower seeds and other larger seeds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
While we love this product, the raccoons can remove the lid to access the food, so we take it in each evening. But this is our second purchase (after the raccoons destroyed the first!)of this product so we must love it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is good for the smaller birds, but the Cardinals are too big, which is too bad b/c we have a lot of them in our yard.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I tried to explain about the locking tabs that hold the lid on. When it is snowing or raining, the tabs just are too much trouble to lock in place and then get out of the weather. Otherwise, this is a great feeder and it does keep out the big birds and the squirrels. So I would still rate this product
great!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We just bought one of these for a gift for my dad because we love our own so much. There's no other feeder on the market like it that we've found. We did add a wire to secure the lid since some persistent squirrels can open the top. But aside from that, except for their hanging upside down and slowly getting one seed at a time with their paw from the bottom plate you'll find that squirrels won't plow through this feeder like other supposedly squirrel-proof feeders. Its shape is also so attractive we leave it hanging in the summer even though we don't put seed in it during those months. Trust me, you won't find another feeder like this one - if you get this feeder you will love it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The little birds love the feeder. The squirrels try very hard to get to the food, but wind up providing me with entertainment watching them hang up-side-down.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Got it for a friend who was very pleased & looking to keep the squirrels out. They quickly found out how to open the top and dump the contents on the ground. That's one for urban squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We have grey squirrels and it did not take long for them to figure out how to get the top off and then their paws into the feeding tube. They have prevented any birds from wanting to come and feed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is a visually striking bird feeder, very nice addition to my parent's garden. Unfortunately, as the enclosed picture shows, it is also a great Squirrel feeder.
Awwww, Breakfast!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have many feeders for the birds....but I like the ones nearer my windows to look nice but still useful. This fits the bill. Thanks
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I live in the woods and have a lot of squirrels and hawks. This feeder does keep the larger birds out, though not your small, wily squirrel. It's easy to fill and fairly easy to clean. The lid did not close firmly after a while and the squirrels figured that out. I rigged it with spring and now it's fine. My only complaint is that after a year or two, the bottom starts to rust and the bottom of the cage that holds the seed disintegrates letting the seed poor out, which the squirrels have also noticed and now they hang on it to tip the seed out. This is my second one and I bought my mom one for Christmas. For the price, you can afford to replace it when it gets too bad.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Squirrels are a real nuisance where we live, so any feeder that keeps them out is appreciated. This feeder was larger than I expected it to be, sturdy, and easy to fill and and hang. We have other globe/cage style feeders that are more attractive, but this feeder is not unattractive, and it serves its purpose very well. We have it hung in the dining room window where we can watch the finches, nuthatches, and chickadees all day.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Seed falls everywhere. Birds just shake the seed onto the ground / deck / everywhere. No squirls but very messy.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The chickadees quickly figured this out while the finches were stymied for several days, they also learned how to use this one. The jays and flickers are shut out and finding other places to terrorize. The feeder seems to work well with sunflower seed. It should be hung higher than deer height, however, to prevent them from tipping it over.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love this feeder! It took one full day of my little birds looking at this feeder to decide it was worth trying and now I have many many little birds waiting to take a turn at emptying the feeder! We love to watch them! I am so happy with it that I purchased 3 more and gave 2 as Christmas gifts!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
can't wait to see if it inhibits the crows from chasing away the little ones in feeding.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The [*] magpies can't get in it !
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
fairly effective against squirels
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Looks good - though I haven't used it yet (it's a Christmas gift), I'm confident that it will work well, too.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
1 month later and my little birds are still a little wary of the new birdfeeder....i think they think they might get stuck in it.....but at least the white wing cannot get in there and empty the seed....i am quite sure by spring i will be filling it daily!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is an exclusive feeder. Chicadees and Red Squirrels wil benifit from this one!Titmouse not able to get in....
ejoyable to watch feeders anyway!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Nice feeder, no problem with squirrels. I bought this over 1 year ago, most feeders fall apart, this one is still in great shape. I paid [$], would like another but will not pay the higher price of [$]
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It keeps the big birds (especially those pesty blue jays!) away from the little guys so they can eat in peace! Plus, no snacks for the squirrels either!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder is quite successful at selecting for smaller birds, and a few adroit cardinals even manage to use it.
Life expectancy under continuous use is 2-3 years: not stellar, but not too bad considering the relatively modest price.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Little birds love this feeder. Squirrels haven't gotten into it yet.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It took the birds about a week to find the feeder, but now they're all over it. I have it hanging outside our home office window, and they are great fun to watch. I've even had small woodpeckers, but mostly sparrows.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The metal holes will allow a finch to get through, however thistle seed will run right out of the feeder. Any larger bird cannot get in. Don't waste your money.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Our song birds love this feeder. For a few days the squirrels were completely flummoxed and a joy to watch as they tried to decode the apparatus. They have now succeeded. They simply lift the lid and insert their hands. A better mechanism to lock the lid would help.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Easy to fill. My Goldfinches love it! They can eat and not be bothered by the blue jays and starlings.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Small birds love this feeder and it's squirrel-proof
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought this for a gift. I was so surprised to see how nice it was. It was much bigger than I had imagined. Very attractive!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought a globe feeder four or so years ago...a racoon tried it's best to destroy it. I trapped the racoon, "relocated" it, my husband repaired the mesh seed holder and it's still being used! I recently ordered two more to use at my "feeder watch location" for an up-east university research project. SQUIRREL PROOF...great product for the money!!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The squirrels figured out if they hang upside down on one side, then the seed falls out onto the tray and they can get to it. I put a baffle over it and problem solved! The small birds go nuts in it. I have seen 4 and 5 eating at the same time.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's hanging on a Shepherd's hook, the birds are feeding, and so far the squirrels have not attacked it. I first saw it at my cousin's and fell in love with it. She has it hanging from a lovely looking tree branch. Of course, the squirrels crawl along the tree branch and get the top off to reach down and enjoy the birds' food. Even though the squirrels were attacking it, I fell in love with it and wanted one immediately. I had planned at that moment not to hang it where the squirrels could get at it. The birds fly in and out of it enjoying their food.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is a great bird feeder to keep the unwanted animals out of the birdseed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Feed birds. Works well. It is squirrel resistant, but certainly not squirrel proof...Heck, nothing is.!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have problems with larger birds raiding the feeders, this is just great for small birds. I put it up and within minutes ,the birds were feeding. This is great.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have it connected to my deck - the window looks out on the deck and is in front of the living room chair my cat and I spend a lot of time in ... fun to watch the different birds come by and try to get in ... the squirrels get on it and twirl but can't steal any seeds
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was looking for an attractive, reasonably priced feeder that might deter squirrels...and I am hopeful this will meet those expectations. So far I have not seen squirrels attempting access...will keep you posted!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This birdfeeder works great on the swing arm attached to my wood deck.

The holes in the seed holder are too big for the little seed that the smaller birds eat.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The bird feeder worked well until the gray squirrels figured they could unscrew the top as well as a human. Then we had to take it down. The squirrels were in the feeder constantly and no matter what we did we could not keep the top on tight enough to deter the squirrels. If a new latch were made to secure the top, the feeder would be perfect!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds love it, but I lose a lot of seed trying to fill it. It hangs well.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I like the appearance of the globes very much. I am hanging them on my tomato tree arms after removing the hanging tomato baskets. I would like the feeder to hold more. Also, much of the standard Wild Bird Seed falls through the holes. Could be it is designed only for birds which eat the black sunflower seed because that doesn't fall out.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Iplaced the feeder in an area where tree limbs offer extra protection from hawks for the birds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Able to use right out of the box and came as advertized
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder attracts the right birds and repels the squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Love it(have 3) but so do my smart squirrels...they turn the "latching top". My son drilled a hole in the top(lined up c/one in the rim) & attached a dog collar hook which keeps them from opening the lid.
However, they still shimmy down the shephard's hook, wrap themselves around it & pick out the sunflower seed c/their claws...must try that belt idea from Sunshine's Mom.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds are just starting to use this feeder. I think the design sorta scares them right now, but I expect it to be a big hit with them this winter.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I purchased this for my mother-in-law for her birthday. She absolutely loves it. It's easy to set up. The squirrels don't get into it and she enjoys watching the birds feed. I would recommend this to anyone! I plan on getting one myself too!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was glad to see this sturdy feeder on sale! It appears to be very well-made, although it has not been up long enough to have been subjected to much weather. A family of blue jays moved nearby this past summer and "traffic" from others has been greatly reduced. I wanted a feeder smaller birds could call their own to try to restore the variety I'm used to.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This fun globe looks wonderful tucked into the branches of a nice bird habitat tree in my yard. The finches have found it and many other colorful feathered freinds.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is funny to see the squirrels TRY to get in. We just laugh. The pesky blackbirds do not get to engorge on your expensive bird food. I also think this item is very attractive next to my other bird feeders.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I hang this feeder over a limb of one of my trees. It attrscts the smaller birds and it is easy for them to feed. They nest close to the feeder which keeps them close to their nest and one is able to watch them take care of their young and it allows our grand kids a chance to see how birds live and provide for their young.
I have made some changes to make this feeder squirrel proof. My squirrels in SanAntonio are smarter then your noethern squirrels.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The only bird seeds that do not fall through the screen are too big for the birds that can fit through the globe. The squirrels at our house immediately learned to open the top (we installed a baffle that did not work). They cleaned out the entire feeder in a matter of hours. We are considering turning it into a squirrel feeder!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Greatest bird feeder ever! I finally found something that lets the little guys in, and keeps the bullies out. My squirrels try to hold onto the pole with one hand and tilt the feeder toward them, but usually give up and head back to their own feeder. I love watching a half dozen or more feed at a time.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
i really enjoy the small birds at this feeder. They must like it too because all of the varieties of small birds in our area come to it. It was also fun to watch a cardinal managing to get just a little food by clinging to the bottom.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was so pleased with the first one that I decided to buy a second one. They do what is advertised, they keep the larger birds out and allow me to attract a variety of smaller birds. Also it is an attractive looking feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder does keep the big birds out and the little birds are loving it! The gold finches have been able to come in to feed. The feeder holds seed well and it will be easy to clean.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We tried everything we could think of to keep squirrels off the feeder. "Floating" a large circle of plastic on top of it, covered by a sheet of clear plastic -- many other things. Issue: the squirrels hang by their back feet from the handle or the chain, lower themselves, still upside down, until they can poke their snouts inside the lowest openings. They can then eat whatever seed is on the pan at the bottom of feeder. Finally, after a week of watching their methods, I took a 1" black leather belt (from [...], no less), and wove it in around that last row of openings on the bottom. Now they hang down, crawl all the way around the feeder, shrug, and leave. Victory!!! I would suggest mfgr. do this with a metal strip during the construction process. The chickadees, house finches, sparrows, and goldfinches are thoroughly enjoying it; the cardinals eye it longingly, as they are eating at their sunflower seed feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We are totally pleased with this feeder. We have had problems with squirrels and raccoons opening and emptying our feeders. So far, this one has been pest-proof. The smaller birds use it constantly and they were feeding 5 minutes after we put it up.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This bird feeder is great for small birds but not totally squirrel proof. If a squirrel can get its head trhough one of the openings, he can get the rest of his body in. We have had ours for about 4 years but now it is rusting out at the bottom and we will have to replace it soon. The small birds love it as long as the larger ones leave them alone.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The only feeder I could find with a properly sized mesh inner container and an outer grid to keep big birds and squirrels out. But the holes in the bottom still retain water, so the fallen seeds sprout!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Our squirrels had no problem opening the top and hanging up side down in the seed cylinder to eat ALL of the seed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder is great-it keeps out the jays, the cardinals, the gray squirrels and the black squirrels but I do have problems with chipmunks and red squirrells. Crisco on the pole stopped the chipmunks but the red squirrel keeps trying and wipes off the pole and still gets in. I'm working on it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We had one Globe Cage Feeder and some other feeders. We concluded our best approach to enjoying the birds in our area was to get a second Globe Cage Feeder because it works the best. The little birds have easy access and the big birds get the scraps.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We really like this feeder. We did have to add a screw to the lid as the squirrels soon learned to unscrew it - once we did that it worked perfectly. Today, we lost it after about a year - a raccoon dragged the whole thing into the woods - but we will definitely buy another.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love this feeder. And while many said it was squirrel proof, the squirrels in my yard quickly learned how to open the top for the goodies. I quickly learned as well and moved the feeder farther away from the tree and put seeds in it that the squirrels were not too fond of. Perfect! I would recommend this feeder to my friends!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder is great. The small birds do have attitudes I found out! No squirrel problems but I did wire the top on as some people suggested. I did have a chipmunk problem because he would climb up the pole, get into the feeder and just sit there eating but I solved that problem-I rubbed canola oil on the pole and now I have a very fustrated chipmunk!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
good quality product -fun to watch the small birds in it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is beautiful to look at and I'm so glad to get rid of the black birds!!! I'm very happy with the purchase.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is the second one of these I bought for my mother. She loves them! (She just wanted two because she feeds so many birds). It totally foils the squirrel she swears has a PhD in getting into feeders. It's the only thing that has worked. The only downside is that the grate is a bit small for the cardinals and bigger songbirds around the top and the bottom. They can get in and out but its hard and sometimes they aren't very persistent. It's perfect for the smaller birds and has saved me listening to the daily rant about what that squirrel can do!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
keeps those pesky squirrels out!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Both my son in Columbia, SC and I (Towson, MD) have one and squirrels have been able to open it. I devised a spring set up that goes across the top and it worked. I did the same thing on my son's in SC and the squirrels opened it up right away. Are SC squirrels smarter or stronger than MD squirrels??? Also, it does not stop birds like starlings with their long beaks. Other than that we like the birds that it attracts. We also bought this one for our daughter (MD). I would recommend with the above comments.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
great feeder, just wish it held more seed!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
the seeds sit at the bottom of the feeder and squirrels and big birds have no trouble hanging on and taking feed from the bottom ring of the feeder
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Just remeber to twist lid. Squirrels got into the top but it was because I didn't twist top. Since then no squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I loved this feeder so much that I bought another! The best thing about it is that it keeps out the big bully birds that chase off the smaller birds!

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was excited to receive the product, however disappointed when I opened it up and it was so lightweight and flimsy. The seeds spills everywhere and the squirrells swing on it like an amusement ride to spill the seed out. I've filled it once and will more than likely not fill it again.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We have a large squirrel population that empties all our bird feeders in record time. I recently purchased your Globe Feeder and I am completely satisfied. Painted Buntings, Goldfinches, Chickadees and other small birds are enjoying the feeder without the competition of the pesky squirrels!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We did add some wire to the lid but as long as the lid is intact, the squirrels cannot get to the seeds.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
What seeds are the best to put into the cage feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It's true that the squirrels can't fit though the openings in the globe, but they easily get the lid off and go head-first into the feeder. The design would be good if only the lid had a better locking feature.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
First time something works correctly !!! No more squirrels or big birds stealing all of the food for the little guys.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This was a Christmas gift,to my husband Rob. The squirrel ran up the pole and immediately started checking out the feeder, and in less than 24 hours, he had the top off, went head first into the seed container, he ate all of the seeds and ran off all of the birds and other squirrels.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds enjoy eating from this feeder. The squirrels and their antics are interesting and actually fun to watch as they can't get to the food. One of the best feeders I have purchased.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought this feeder for my backyard, where squirrels abound. I first filled it and slipped it over a low-hanging branch. Next thing I knew, the clever squirrel had slipped it off again. Once I hung it using a flexible wire, it did indeed prove squirrel proof.

Hung this birdfeeder on a freestanding pole in the yard and the squirrels haven't gotten near the food.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have had one that is always full of birds. My neighbor admired it as he was watching my house while I was away and I purchased another one for him as a thank you gift.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
GREAT PRODUCT BUT ALWAYS CAN BE IMPROVED
SUGGEST LARGER DISH(WITH DRAINAGE) FOR SPILLS JAYS AND GRACKLES HANG ON IT AND SPILL SEED DON'T MIND BUT I FILL WITH HULLED SUNFLOWER FOR THE LITTLE ONES
AND SQUIRRELS HAVE A FIELD DAY WHICH IS EXPENSIVE
FILL OTHER FEEDERS WITH UNHULLED SUNFLOWER FOR THEM NO PERCHES WHICH IS GREAT PREVENTS DISEASE VERY GOOD PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This keeps the big birds out and the song birds
enjoy not having to wait to get in to feed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have several bird feeders and this one works best for smaller birds. They love it.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have used every "squirrel-proof" feeder:
large plastic domes over the feeder, feeding tray that lets out a little but if pressure is put on it is suppose to stop etc. The last one isthe biggest dissapointment as the squirrels hang on to the sides. So far this is the best. We also have deer that try to eat our bird food. The new feeder has not been bothered yet.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Birds love it. They feel secure enough to allow you to put it within easy viewing area. Good drainage to minimize seeds spoiling. Minimal spillage. Easy to fill.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Although this feeder is not totally squirrel-proof, they don't have an easy time of it. That's always fun to watch! The small birds seem to enjoy being inside the cage, and there is still room for the larger birds to poke their heads in. Altogether, the feeder is attractive and easy to fill and clean.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
My mother was obsessed with a particular squirrel who seemed able to defeat all efforts to protect her feeder for the birds. This caged feeder has so far done the trick. It is quite sturdy and the cage is big enough for the small birds to fly in and out. She has been ecstatic that her nemesis has been foiled!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds love this feeder and so do I because I'm not feeding the squirels. It's attractive and very accessible for the birds whom I love to see hop in and out of the cage area. This seems to attract more birds maybe because of the webbed center. But I have been seeing lots of different birds since I got this feeder. I haven't seen a squirel, though, which makes me happy and I also love the dish at the bottom. I wish Gardners had a cage feeder with feeding stations on the center feeder for little seed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Only problem was that the squirrels figured it out quickly. They got the top open very quickly and were also able to knock it to the ground which surprised me because it's quite heavy. But the small birds seem to love it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Keeps those pesky squirrels out
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I really like this feeder, and am ordering a second one for another part of the yard. It's perfect for holding black sunflower seeds. I'd call this feeder as sold "squirrel-resistant", not "squirrel-proof". We have lots of squirrels, and they learned how to unhook the cap. But by wrapping some wire around the top and making a loop onto the cage, they no longer can get in and don't bother trying. Birds love it year-round.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
After construting my own squirrel proof feeder which looked rather shabby, I was delighted to find this attractive, easy to fill, and definately squirrel and blue jay "proof" feeder. I even bought another one to use as a gift for my bird loving friends.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I've tried a huge variety of feeders, and this one really is terrific! It does keep the squirrels and larger birds out, allowing the smaller birds a chance to feed. I've tried lots of other so-called "squirrel-proof" feeders, and they were all a waste of money. I already have two of these, and look forward to putting up more around the property. The smaller birds really love this feeder!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Titmouse, finches, chicadees & nuthatches have enjoyed without too much harrassment this winter.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I am going to order 2 more for spring for my mom and grandmother.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We use this along with several other feeders on the "Bird Feeding Station". Such fun watching all of the different birds feeding at one time.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
NO INSTRUCTIONS AS TO WHAT TYPE OF BIRD SEED TO USE - I ASSUMER NIGER SEED
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Feeding all the different birds in our yard has been a challenge because of squirrels and using only one type of feeder. I purchased the globe, platform, and hopper feeders along with the stake and baffle (feeding station accessories) for the birds. It has worked beautifully. Both small and large birds have their fill without having to share with the squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
birds love it
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
filling takes one minute in icy weather it is great to get done in seconds. Birds love to sit in it and eat.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is great for the little birds. Only improvements I would recommend is making the notches in the underside of the lid that are supposed to lock it a little longer. The first time I set it up I did not turn it completely and one of the street smart squirrels figured how to get the lid off and was digging down into the tube of seed. Also a larger dish in the bottom would hold more seed that drops through during filling and not on the ground. Use it with sunflower hearts for minimal waste.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
makes great appearance but entrance not big enough for anything bigger than a finch
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Got a nice video of a woodpecker hanging from the bottom sticking his tongue all the way in to get the seed. The small birds love it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I bought this for my mother for Christmas. She is delighted with it. It works perfectly -- keeps the big birds away and the smaller ones are there all day. It is near a tree but so far has not been challenged by squirrels. She has filled and closed it without problems, which is good since she has arthritis.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Bought it as a Christmas gift for my mom. She really loves it. Not only does it keep squirrels away it keeps the larger birds (Blue Jays) from raiding her feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I should have bought this feeder years ago. It is very attractive and draws many birds all day long for us to watch from our window. It's nice to see the finches enjoy their meal without the anoying jays chasing them away. Many of my friends were so excited about this feeder that they asked me for your catalog so that they could order their own.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We wanted to attract smaller birds to our yard but the pigeons and crows scare them away when we put feed out in our other feeders. This feeder lets the little birds feed and keeps the bigger birds away.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I liked my so much gave two to my father for Christmas
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love that this hangs over the bushes next to the deck, so the mess is minimal. I have feeders in the back of the yard, but can't always see 'who's visiting'. This feeder hangs right where we can see it and the birds found it the first day. Have had sparrows, finches, chickadee. Saw a junco nosing around, not sure if he is the right size. I put in black oil sunflower seeds and they are working out fine. Not sure yet about 'squirrel-proof' - they always seem to find a way. I am very happy with this purchase.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The globe allows many small seed-eating birds easy entrance to the feeding cylinder. It's quite a sight to see ten or more goldfinches, pine siskins, house and purple finches, and chickadees perched on the outside cage wires and on the mesh feeder. Its only drawbacks I discovered recently during a sleet storm when ice froze on the globe wires denying entrance to the feeder and when water froze on the bottom curved plate and was difficult to remove.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder does everything it's supposed to do. It's a pleasure to watch our favorite birds enter the globe and share a meal. This product, combined with the Swing Arm Bird Feeder Pole, made a great holiday gift for an avid bird watcher. My only complaint is price. The two purchased together cost considerably more than what I would have spent at my local garden center. I am curious to see how these hold up over time.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This product keeps the squerrils out and lets the smaller birds in. It is ideal as a feeder.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder has proven itself stable in high winds. It keeps the squirrels and big birds at bay, allowing the beautiful little sparrows(my husband's favorite), house wrens, and cardinals (my favorite)to eat their fill. We have found that the birdseed last longer as the squirrels and larger birds cannot kick out seeds and waste them. Good value for a good price!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The center seed holder wire is too large of a mesh so even sunflower seeds spill out easily. Squirrels cling to the outter cage and just reach in with their front leg and take seeds easily.
I've only just started using this feeder but it seems robust so hopefully it will have a long life. The birds love it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder is ideal for those who are trying not to feed the squirrels. The squirrel stretches to reach the feeder, then realizes he cannot get into it, and finally gives up and feeds off the ground. It is GREAT ENTERTAINMENT TO WATCH HIM TRY AND TRY AGAIN!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is such fun watching the fat sparrows trying to get in to the feeder.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Squirrels have gnawed open our plastic and wood feeders - this has kept them out. The broad array of birds coming to feed has kept us entertained!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Sure helps in the amount of seed that is wasted
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Our clever squirrels have figured out how to remove the top and climb into the seed tube. They also get it to tilt so that any seeds that have fallen to the bottom tip out. It does keep out the blackbirds and the jays but also the cardinals.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It brings in the little birds such as the chickedde, tuffed mouse, fintches, nuthatchers and keeps them safe from the redtailed hawk.I'm so glad it has kept out the squarles & pigeons. It also is eye candy.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It was so surprising to see those smaller birds actually getting in.....the woodpecker hangs underneath and tries to catch anything that might fall out !
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It met my expectations for the product I was looking for.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I enjoy seeing several varieties of song birds come to the feeder throughout the day, without being chased by aggressive squirrels.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
NH squirrels must be smarter than most. They take the top off and shimmy down the wired tube to reach the seed.Any suggestions about how to prevent this? I think I have used the "latching top", as its design suggests but they invariably get it off.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Squirrels were able to unscrew top but a simple twist tie fixed the problem. Small birds use it frequently. Just wish the cardinals could use it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is great that the squirrels, grackels and blue jays can't get in it. It gives the small birds a little santuary for themselves. When it rains or snows it gets in the mix because there is no rain cover over the top. I will have to purchase a separate one.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is a wonderful product. It's easy to fill and really protects small birds. The only issue is the squirrels can reach the food which falls on the bottom portion of the feeder. Overall, I love this feeder and have considered buying another one.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This replaced an existing feeder that was damaged by squirrels. Squirrels leave it alone but so do the birds. They won't go through the cage to get to the seed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I took a drill and made enlarged holes in different places in the wire mesh. The description says it's for sunflower seeds. Most are too large to go through the small wire mesh. The mesh is too large for smaller seed.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is the best bird feeder I've ever purchased. My main reason for buying it was the claim that squirrels can't get to the seed and they can't. The smaller birds can get in the cage but squirrels and larger birds can't fit. I haven't had it long enough to know if it's durable but it seems very sturdy and probably easy to clean.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have a couple of these in my yard. One is right outside my office window from which I enjoy watching the birds - small ones, cardinals, etc. - flock to this feeder. Once, I counted 13 birds feeding from it at the same time. And, its fun to see that the squirrels cannot get into it and steal the food. I so love this feeder that I bought several more to give as gifts.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have a many bird feeders, but they have to be squirrel proof. The cage keeps the squirrels out and lets the small birds in.
It was easy to mount from the base on a pole/platform. Cleaning should be easy.
I have no complaints.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
You need to offer this same type of feed with a smaller screen for filling with smaller seed varities. I had to fill the mesh sock that came with the bird seed I purchased and place it inside the feeder tube, since the screen is too large to hold the Thistle seed. This feeder gives a lot of space for birds to perrch while they wait for a spot to feed.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is squirrel proof for full grown but not baby squirrels, although they can be fun to watch! I would use this all year but have to wait for the bears to hibernate or bring in every night.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I have never seen as many chicadees, nuthatches all at the same time sharing the Globe Feeder. They are EXTREMELY happy with your product!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
For such a nice feeder, you would have thought its lid would be better designed. It easily opens up at the slightest touch. Squirrels can open and eat out of it like a candy jar. Our Jack Russell and the current feeder location temporarily deters their use, but winter weather may make naughty squirrels brave again. In the meantime, the little birds love this feeder. I love watching them use it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Was disappointed that red squirrels could get through the wire grid.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We have found not only blue jays and squirrels trying to eat out of our old feeder, but cats hanging on it (maybe trying to catch the blue jays and squirrels?). This globe feeder is an addition to our collection of feeders, mainly servicing the finches.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is supposed to be for small birds (only they can fit in tofeed, yet the screening that holds the seed is too large for the small seed the finch type birds eat
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The squirrels cannot get in it. That to us is a big plus.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This is the perfect solution to my problem of hundreds of red wing blackbirds as well as grackles and others who could empty my feeders in 5 minutes flat. Now the little birds are happy and gather in good numbers to enjoy this feeder.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love watching all the little birds gather at this birdfeeder. I have given several as gifts. I use oiled sunflower seeds in mine. It is very well made and so reasonably priced.
It is fairly squirrel proof, which is why I purchased this particular style of feeder. But some clever squirrels still try to scoop the "overflow" of seeds off the floor of the feeder.
I would recommend this product to birdlovers everywhere.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I was dubious that birds would be able to squeeze themselves through the outer cage, but the little ones have had no trouble getting in. I see them sitting inside the cage as larger birds try -- and fail -- to get at them. I like it that I can make their lives a little easier.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
HAD TO MAKE A SPECIAL SLEEVE TO FILL FEEDER SO SEED DOESNT SPILL ALL OVER. ATTRACTIVE FEEDER THO.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The black birds and cow bird can't get in or reach through the cage, so my litte birds can eat in peace. I am not filling them up twice a day with the big birds cleaning me out and the little birds get nothing. I have them right out side my great room window and we watch all year round.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This great looking feeder effectively keeps out the larger birds that used to monopolize our feeders. Unfortunately, it doesn't keep out our small red squirrels, which easily slip through the globe. Still, it's a stylish, simple to use feeder and the smaller birds love it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Love the fact that it's frustrating the squirrel population! It's pleasing
to the eye, also.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We are delighted to finally have a bird feeder that keeps the small birds safe while feeding and it's absolutely squirrel proof!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Looking forward to the birds next spring ... looks like they're gone now.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Within days of receiving mine, I ordered three more for gifts. White wing doves intimidated the little birds until we put out the caged feeder. Now, we have regular small birds flitting in and out to eat.

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It does keep the larger birds away and it gives the small fellas a chance... but the squirrels get the top open in about 10 minutes. They then climb inside the cylinder and chow down. I've tried taping it shut, but they tear right through it.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
large birds can't get in!!!Or the squirrel!!!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
THE BEARS CAN'T CRUSH THIS BIRD CAGE. THAT'S A PLUS FOR THE BIRDS EVEN THOUGH THE BEARS SHAKE THE SEED OUT OF THE FEEDER. I CAN STILL REFILL THE FEEDER FOR THE LUCKY BIRDS THAT COME IN BETWEEN THE OCCASIONAL BEAR THAT PASSES THRU OUR PROPERTY EVERY NOW AND THEN. ALL OTHER BIRD FEEDERS ARE CRUSHED BEYOND DISTINCTION AND CANNOT BE RESTORED. THANK YOU.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
When I saw this feeder online I knew this was what I wanted. It allows all the small birds to feed with protection, I have other feeders for the larger birds.
So I bought 2 to keep a spare.
Thanks

Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
My yard is now a haven for birds. They go to this feeder before the others. The little birds are safe from the crows and bluejays that constantly disrupt their feeding elsewhere.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I put my "Globe Bird Feeder" on a shepherd hook two weeks ago (now going on three weeks), and I have not seen one bird. I purchased sunflowers seeds and was so excited about feeding the birds, but so far it has been so disappointing!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The birds in my yard love this feeder. Protects the feed from squirrels and the birds from our farm cats.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I like the generous capacity so I'm not re-filling it so frequently. Birds, especially the finches, titmice, sparrows, flock to it as they're protected from the bully birds. Squirrels may snag a seed from the bottom, but they have to work so hard that they rarely bother. I also like the attractive sphere shape. I have two and they are well-used.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I wanted to attract the gold finches. I've only seen them once. But the sparrows love it.....not exactly what I had in mind, but will keep it. It's a good idea, don't know if you made the openings a little smaller if it would help keep out the undesirable sparrows and still let the finches in????
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This feeder is beautiful and functions as it is intended. It is so simple to setup and we have attracted many different types of small/medium size birds and the bigger feeding bullies didn't even bother trying. Now what I need is to get more bird seeds:-)
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The best birdfeeder I ever bought.
Keeps squirrels out.
Looks cool!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
It is a great product as the birds love it. The only problem is our resident squirrel can squeeze himself into the cage and take the sunflower seeds. I guess the birds have to learn to share.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
A wonderful product - filled with sunflower hearts, attracts colorful and small birds. Has made our grandchildren more aware and appreciative of birds in our gardens. They now have one in their yard and enjoy breakfast on the deck while birdwatching!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Nice appearance, attractive to the birds, squirrels have given up raiding it. Seems fully satisfactory.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I am not happy with the global cage feeder at all. As a matter of fact, I can not even use it. When you pour the finch food into the feeder it falls thru the holes and onto the ground. The interior tube where you put the food needs to be smaller so the the food will stay.[...]
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
OMG, you just have to get one of these. Not only does it keep out the larger pesky birds, but keeps out the neighborhood squirrel population.
My other feeder feeds the larger birds and of course they chase out the smaller ones. I'm GLAD that I purchased this one - many hours of watching.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Very well made and easy to fill. Attracts the small birds and they are fun to watch fly in and out. The larger birds can not fit inside. Happy with the feeder in all aspects.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
This birdfeeder keeps out the squirrels and big birds. Just bought one for a friends birthday gift! It is like a runway to the feeder, one little one is done and the next arrives. Great for watching them feed. A great product.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
We may have purchased too late in the season to draw as many birds as we expected, but the feeder has attracted many different small ones. We really enjoy watching them "roll around" inside the cage.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Enjoy seeing the small birds using it!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
I love watching the smaller birds feed in safety. Unfortunately, cardinals are unable to access the feeder. But it does keep our squirrels. try as they might. Have ordered several for family and friends.
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
The Globe Cage Feeder does keep the larger birds out, so the finches can enjoy a great snack for a change. I guess we have really smart squirrels, the first time I filled it, a squirrel immediately jimmied the top open. No worries, I secured the top on with a piece of wire. Now they can't get into the seed... although they sure do try!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Attracts and protects so many small birds--I love it. The other day we had 5 enjoying it at once!
Comments about Globe Cage Feeder:
Keeps out large birds.
Attractive; large capacity
