These are so cute, the birds hang all over it and eat. I have one on a hanger and one from a tree branch. The only downside is they need to refilled often because they are petite. I knew that when I purchased them, so it's fine. For the price, great buy.

Not only do the birds love these cute little feeder balls, but they look so festive hanging from the pergola on my deck. The birds can cling to the sides while indulging in the sunflower seeds that I put inside them. I've had chickadees, snowbirds, cardinals, finches, blue jays, woodpeckers, and of course sparrows enjoying the seed. A great bird lover gift!

I like round stuff, so I bought these three ball feeders for my backyard, and I hung them under the tree. This is the first time I am buying bird feeder and had no idea what I will see. Now I see it. I was so excited to put the seeds which I particularly picked from [...] and also made sure they are the right seeds for the feeder. The first day, I did see some birds flying around the feeders getting seeds until the squirrels coming and reaching the seeds too. I have quite a few squirrels in my backyard and also from neighborhood. Then no birds coming. What I've seen afterwards are only the squirrels playing with the feeders and eating. While I am so amazed at how good the squirrels are to get the seeds from the feeders(they shaking, taking the lip off and dumping), I decided to give up using these feeders for the birds. I am buying these feeders for birds, not for squirrels. Next time, I am definetely careful to get a squirrel-resistent bird feeder.

I bought two sets to decorate a holly tree for Christmas but I plan to use them year round. Only larger seeds work-such as peanuts and sunflower seed. Safflower seeds are too small.

When I received my mini globe feeders, I put them to use right away. They were easy to fill and hook up. In just a few minutes after hanging, the birds were coming to enjoy a feast of bird seeds (sunflowers).

The product looked like it would be good to prevent moldy seeds. With a rainy year, the seeds got moldy quick and it was hard to clean the other styled birdfeeders I had. I think these will be a lot better.

I have hung them in my little pear tree. The birds love them. The neighbors smile. But the squirrels can still pester them enough to get them to drop off the branch, and then the lids fall off. I'm certainly that shortly I WILL lose a lid.

Mini-globes look great and add color to a dreary winter landscape. Not only the birds but also the squirrels love them. Infact the squirrels figured out in a very short time how to open and steal all the seeds they could eat at one time. This is the only draw back. I think a tighter lid might work better or a top with a clip to lock in place. I would recommend this product with reservations.

The squirrels easily figured out how to remove the tops. They also have figured out how to get them off the hook in the tree and drag them around the yard.

The birds seem to like them.

It is such a joy to watch the finches, nuthatches, chickadees, and titmouses use this feeder. The design lets them can eat in peace without competition from larger birds. I love unique and pretty bird feeders! These are perfect for adding not only food for our feathered friends but to add color to the yard and help make it a play ground for birds of all types.

If you're turned off by the neon colors, consider doing what I did - spray paint them! I bought two sets and re-painted them black, brown and ivory. But you choose whichever colors you like -copper would be nice! These are so versatile that you can re-paint them according to season so that they blend into and complement the landscape, such as pastel colors for spring, burnt orange for fall, etc.

The downy and hairy woodpeckers love these feeders. It is taking a bit of time for some of the titmice and chickadees to get used to the new design (I switched from an old mesh tower feeder). The biggest pro is that the large bully birds such as starlings and crows just cannot comfortably use these, because of the feeders' smallish size. I have not yet seen the larger woodpeckers around to use it, and I wonder if a larger Northern Flicker or Red Bellied Woodpecker would be comfortable on it. Time will tell. I have other feeders available for their use if they do not like the globes.

I fill mine with peanuts, which stay fresh and never mold, because of the design, as well as three small airholes in the bottom of the feeder.

These are not squirrel-proof, so use a baffle or place them in an isolated area where only birds can access the feeders.

Easy to fill, and they hold a good amount of peanuts.

I have 2 bird feeders now in the front of our home, and smaller birds get pushed aside. I also have an old wooden swing set in the back yard. It was great for hanging plants this summer, and now with winter coming, it will be the new chow line for the smaller birds. These will be attractive and offer more space without spending big bucks on huge feeders to accommodate them!

I like these feeders very much. I bought extra when they went on sale to give as inexpensive Christmas gifts for my gardening friends. I like that they are colorful and lightweight and I can hang them on shrub branches near my windows. Paint faded slightly but did not flake off over the winter. I had purchased the same feeders last year in brown, but when the squirrels figured out how to steal and hang them from our trees, it proved a difficult challenge to locate and retrieve them. I'm hoping the colorful ones will be easier, also need to tape the lids shut bec. their little paws can open them with no problem. The local squirrels are quite fond of these balls. They sit on the branch above the ball and pull it up using the hand over hand system. If I knock on the window they look and me and I swear they are laughing. They will also hang from the branch by their back legs and nibble at the balls to get the seeds.

I wanted it for finches. The holes were way to big for almost any bird seed. I had to cover them with netting to keep the food in.

Great for shelled peanuts and sunflower seeds. Small birds and woodpeckers can use, but size/shape deter starlings/grackles. Pest-proof - very difficult for the raccoons to open. The only drawback is drainage - the solid bottom tends to hold moisture. If it were all mesh, it might drain better. Small enough to fit anywhere. It has become my #1 summer feeder! Also great for gifts. I gave them as Christmas presents last year - one feeder per person with bags of sunflower seeds and peanuts.

This is a great bird feeder. The finches love it as well as the woodpecker. It provides entertainment when watching a squirrel trying to get a sunflower seed from it. I love feeding the birds so I have also used these feeders as a wedding gift along with a package of sunflower seeds.

I use these with black oil sunflower seeds to attract goldfinches. They work very well! (Yes, a little bit of the seed falls out, but that is true of ALL wire mesh feeders.) I also like that they are small, because the seed doesn't spoil. They have faded quite a bit in a month, but they are placed in an extremely sunny location. Overall, I'm thrilled with them (sale price included)!

I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. They were smaller than what I expected, but the birds love them! We had bluebirds, cardinals, mockingbirds, etc. eating from them! The tops were lost on two of them after winter was over, but that's not a big deal. They provided great color in our barren tree. I am ordering another set for our trees out front next winter! Tiny seeds do fall through the mesh and dried fruit chunks are hard for the birds to get out.

I fill the feeders with oily black sunflower seeds and hang them in trees or on shepherd's hooks. Birds love them! The neighborhood squirrels are not able to open up the globes but enjoy the few seeds that fall to the ground. Because the well constructed globes are made of metal they will last for years to come.

I bought two sets of these feeders and gave one to my Mom. Hers attracted not only birds, but squirrels, too! They were able to remove the lid, pour the seed and hide the feeder high in her orange tree. My feeders remain full. It must have something to do with the cats wandering my yard that intimidate the birds. I won't give up; I love the look of the feeders, and anticipate they will be in use in the cooler weather when the cats are in side and the birds have free run of my yard. In the meantime,they're pretty and colorful.

Great idea, but mesh is to large, even sunflower seeds fall out. Emptied as it was being filled due to the size of the mesh. Should use smaller mesh, designed for either thistle or sunflower seeds. As it is now, neither seed works.

These little globes are very cute, and even do a good job of holding back hulled sunflower seeds, so mess is reduced. They're small so they get emptied quickly, but are easy and convenient to fill. I hung mine under the eaves of my porch, so the squirrels can't get at them. Make great gifts!

They add color to the yard and hold a decent amount of sunflower seeds. Occasionally the lid is on the ground meaning the squirrels have got to them, but what's new. I have only seen birds on them twice in the past two weeks.

Had some concerns that the wild bird seed mix I use might fall thru as the holes are a little larger than I expected, but there are enough black, sunflower seeds that all stays in OK. I very much like that they are metal and the shape and colors make a nice addition to the trees and shepards hooks that I hang all my feeders on. A heck of a bargain for the clearance price I paid.

I hang these feeders in the cherry trees in the front yard where they attract a lot of cardinals. However, the squirrels like the feeders as well and sometimes knock the lids off to get at the seed. I use the black oil sunflower seed.

These little globes are very attractive but are totally nonfunctional as bird feeders. If a feed is large enough enough to stay put in the feeder, the birds cannot get it pulled through to enjoy. If we are missing the correct way to use them, we would love the information!
Our solution, since we now own them, is to suspend them with tea light candles.

This is a thistle seed bird feeder, although the openings are too large to hold thistle inside. The birds do not even have to come to it in order to feed; they can just land on the ground. I thought these feeders really waste a lot of the expensive thistle seed.

These feeders really lend color to my yard during the winter months. Wish there was a different way to fasten the lids so the squirrels would have more trouble opening the feeders. Really think these feeders are attractive.

These feeders are amazing. I have one and I gave the other two as gifts. I loved the one I kept so much that I ordered another set. I have them in a small tree closed to a window so I can see them easily. A squirrel stole the red one twice! My husband found it hanging in a tree in the woods near our house. Since then I've wrapped the chain around a branch and hung them on flimsier branches. No problems since then. The looks outweigh the challenges.

The cage's are very nice,the only hold back is the wholes are to large and need to find seed that doesn't fall thru the wholes. Will need to pick up black seeds. Was not the seed I wanted to use. I would recommend the cages but would advice the seed size.

The squirrels opened them right from the first day, took the lids off, dropped them to the ground and ate the seeds. Is there nothing they can't figure out? I could recommend them but would caution about squirrels.

I have them hanging under my arbor on vine branches. This way the little birds can get at them and the squirrels are fooled for the moment.

Holds small seed well - chickadees love it! It's only squirrel proof if you place it on a twig that a squirrel can't access. I created a "vase" containing dead limbs (away from anything squirrels can climb). Adds winter color to the yard.

We filled all three of these globes with sunflower seeds, and the birds were interested, but it was like tantalizing them with something they couldn't have. They couldn't get the seeds out. So my husband bought some mixed bird seeds, but unless you hold the feeder VERY carefully, the seeds all fall out on the way to the tree.
I think I'll put yarn in the globes and see if the birds will pull the yarn out of the holes.

I love the look of these feeders and, because they are small, I'll change the seed before it can get stale. My only concern--and it's not that serious--is whether or not they are durable. No matter how "squirrel-proof", the squirrels still try to get to the seed and can damage the feeder.

I bought six sets of these for Christmas presents and for myself. Everyone really loved them. My Grandmother has a hard time reaching up to fill bird feeders so these were much easier for her to use. Mine were too heavy for my tree so I hung them on the fence and they are in constant use. They were much bigger than I expected. Nice not to have to fill so often.

Was a great gift for the parents who already have everything and are impossible to buy for. They never get tired of watching the birds, especially during the snowy Wisconsin winters. They also loved the different colors of the feeders.

I filled the feeders with seed, wrapped them in plastic bags and added a second supply bag of seeds. We gave them to several folks at a dinner party and soon saw them in their yards. Children were given responsibility for checking and filling them and it was easy even for the younger ones to do that. We regularly feed the birds, so this just adds another dimension. So far the squirrels have not bothered them...but they will soon figure out how to do that. Great group gift idea.

The birds found these feeders right away - unfortunately, so did the squirrels. It was a lot of fun to watch the squirrels hang from their back feet to feed from the feeders, but then now they have apparently learned to take off the tops and turn the feeders upside down to empty out. Believe it or not-- I bought 2 different sizes of sunflower seeds to fill the feeders, one is too small and one is too big!!! Who knew there were so many sizes of sunflower seeds!!!! NOT ME!!!

Put four on our deck, used the heavy-duty tomato hanger/stand to hang them from. The birds love the balls and we get to watch all the different little birds (juncos, wrens, titmice, chickadees) fill up, especially before snow storms. Also gave them as Xmas gifts.

You can only use large seeds in it. This attracts large birds such as blue jay or cardinal. The balls spins too much for them to feed enough and it is not squirrel proof. But they are pretty.

The tops came off twice and were lost in the yard for a while. Don't know how:squirrels, wind or birds. I took some fishing line and tied one end on the nob on the top and the other to the basket. Birds love 'em!

To fill you do need a small container to pour the seed into them, I use Black Oil Sunflower seed, it seems to work well.

These are absolutely great. Had a similar one when living in VA and had a lot of birds. Now in FL, I have birds flocking once again to my feeders. They are colorful and attractive and will hold a variety of different bird food.
They are not squirrel proof and therefore a use vaseline on the poles of the shepards hooks and the squirrels cannot get a foothold and therefore cannot eat the birdseed.

These are attractive, easy to use feeders. Our squirrels eat from them and as the feeders get low in seed even manage to remove the lids. I had hoped to use seeds other than sunflowers, but so far safflower is the only other type that stays inside the mesh. Bottom line? they're cheerful hanging together and will be a great addition to December's bird tree.

These little globes are much more sturdy than the plastic ones that are often sold, and so far the squirrels haven't figured them out. I have used elastic bands across the top to keep the lids on firmly. On the other hand, only the chickadees and house finches have managed to perch on them -- that is either a plus or a minus, depending on what your feelings are about different species of birds.

I filled these and hung them in a tree over my deck. They come on hanging chains with hooks that are too small to fit on a branch. Next I tried wrapping the chain around the branch and hooking it with more success, but the chain cut up the bark (and cambium) of my tree. They hold about 1 1/2 cups each, and a local squirrel got the lids off and emptied them. The mesh is too big for millet, so my mixed seed fell out, except for the big seeds.
Don't bother wasting your money, buy a real birdfeeder.

These little globe feeders are the best for hanging in trees. I like to fill them with "bakery hearts" --large shelled sunflower hearts. I'm glad to be ordering another set. I had a raccoon take off with my blue one and I never found it. These are durable, versatile, easy to fill and easy to clean.

These feeders add so much interest to your yard all winter long with their bright colors. They attract a wide variety of birds. The squirrels have figured out that if they tip them upside down the cover comes off and the seeds pour all over the ground. You can squirrel proof them yourself though. I put two of the colorful feeders right outside the window and one in the redbud tree in our yard. Birds of all kinds were quick to discover them and begin their feast. Our winter was very cold and snowy and it was fun to watch our feathered friends on days we could not get out and about. Cardinals were in charge, but every bird had a chance to get their fill. We took several great photographs right from the warmth and comfort of our own living room!

Attractive for humans, but apparently not to the birds. Could not get them to eat from these feeders regardless of the time of year or the seed I placed in them. Possibly the size & the motion was a turn-off if they tried to land to feed. I loved looking at them in the trees & on my porch, but no matter what location they never came to eat. The top is also easy to remove by squirrels who seem to be the only ones interested in them.
