As I said before, it should have a perch for the bird to stand on (it comes with a very short one). Birds didn't use it until I drilled a hole and stuck a branch in it to make a longer perch.

I bought this birdhouse for its beauty as a decorative element in my garden. Imagine my surprise when a pair of chickadees chose it to nest in and raise their young! This birdhouse gave me a memorable spring of many happy hours watching the birds come and go. It has the Chickadee Seal of Approval....and mine too.
