I gave this to my daughter as a gift, for the second year in a row, she said she was happy to receive it because now she would put it out for the birds. She hadn't put out the one I have her last year because she thought it was too cute to use.

First we hung it near the porch hoping to attract the birds closer. That didn't work. So we moved it to the boughs of a Cedar tree and attracted a few small birds. Then we filled our nearby feeders and birds totally abandoned the cottage for the seed and still rarely return to the cottage. I would not purchase this item again.

I ordered this as a gift, then got one for myself, but so far I've only seen one bird light on it briefly. The seeds are falling off after some rain. Maybe it will work better with peanut butter and seeds, but haven't tried that yet.

I purchased one to send as a Christmas gift, then decided to get one for my own pleasure. The same day it went outside, it got a new white roof from our first snowfall. I haven't noticed any visitors yet, but am having fun keeping an eye out to see which birds will discover it.

Birds did not seem very interested, a couple came but did not come back. I added peanut butter on top of seeds and added black oil seeds
then the birds came and I have re-seeded since and they seem very interested again.
