Fits together easily and works well for graduated curves.
Gives a distinct sharp line between plant beds and lawn or between walkways and lawn. Helps to keep grass and weeds from encroaching on pathways and flower beds. Goes together very quickly...I am about to buy more for some new beds I have just put in.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Easy to Install even around corners. Looks great. Will be edging more gardens with it soon.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Our screened courtyard has planted areas that spill dirt onto the walkway pavers. This edging was easy to install and made a huge difference in keeping the dirt in the garden areas and making the courtyard look so much neater. Will let me use some mulch on the bed w/o it getting all over. A great product.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Absolutely the best edging product I have used. Once it is pounded into the ground the edging doesn't shift or move. Stays secure indefinitely. This is the only edging I would consider buying.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I needed a deep edging to keep out a beautiful but invasive plant from encroaching another planting area. Very tough… held up well to pounding down. It was much easier to install and adjust than a continuous roll in my situation… so far has done the job required.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We purchased some of these pieces years ago and they are still doing their job. I'm so glad you are still offering them so we can use them in another part of our garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The lawn service kept blowing my mulch away from the beds. I bought rubber mulch thinking it would be more difficult to blow away, but they still blew it away.
Now the mulch stays in the beds and I only replace very little of the mulch. Great savings on time and money.
The only caution is because this is so flexible you must be careful when installing it so it does not bend in the wrong direction.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use this product as the surround for my garden beds which are 3' to 4' wide and various lengths. It works wonderfully for that purpose and is very affordable compared to stone. The only problem I sometimes have is having to pound them back into the ground in the spring after they have lifted somewhat from the ground freezing over the winter, but this is pretty minor. For the cost, it's a great product.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Installed quickly by my son and makes the garden edge look very neat. Approved by the ones who mow, too!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought this to off set the 8" edging as the slope of my front yards beds warranted a little higher edging. I alternated the 8 and 12" and it gave a nice staggered edging!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used this to make a border for a flower bed running next to property line fence. The neighbors yard spills water in our yard. This bed and border has kept the water out.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have hard clay soil so I wasn't sure if I could pound it in but I waited until there was a hard rain and it was easy to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
These are so easy to install and maintain. I bought them to keep Zoysia grass out of the mulch beds. I've also used them to keep mulch off the sidewalk. They have worked great in both uses.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Easy to use, looks good. Takes a little practice to get a perfectly straight edge and gradual curves, but very easy correct mistakes.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I wanted to separate a rock path from flower gradens and grass. It allowed enough depth to hold the rocks, 3" layer of mulch in the flower beds and a great edge for the grass. I am very satisfied.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Makes a great edging between my lawn path and the garden bed. Was quite easy to install. No, it doesn't go through big roots or rocks but seems like that would be too much to expect from any edging. It didn't go through my irrigation system either, which was a plus! I'm planning to get some more to contain some aggressive ground covers.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging pounds-in skirting trees, flower beds.
It stops grass and weed roots getting where you don`t want them. Once installed, grass and weeds can only go over the top to get in.
Product is sturdy and lasting. Have use these for over 20 years.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use this edging on beds that slope down hill, to prevent the loss of good top soil and mulch in heavy rains. There's just enough exposure to do the job, and it's easy to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
worked well
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Edgeing of rain garden to control mulch
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used this edging to border my garden areas. Its rigidity enables it to be easily pounded into place and the linkages between pieces really work. The edging keeps grass from spreading into the gardens and limits the weeds that enter the garden. I would definitely recommend this to a friend - in fact, I am doing just that!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I wanted to use the dividers to separate lawn from rock path and path from round tree holes. Our soil is hard, summers are hot and the dividers didn't work. I needed metal. Wasn't the fault of the dividers.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We have a narrow strip of dirt with plants growing along the driveway. The dirt always spilled onto the driveway and looked ragged. This product made the edging look neat. I had trouble pounding them all in at the exact height but I love the way it came out nonetheless.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used them around small pine trees and boxwoods.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This pound-in edging is everything that it is said to be. It is very easy to install and holds up well to "pounding" with a rubber mallet, even in less-than-soft soil. The pieces fit together easily. They can be assembled, then pounded in...or they can be pounded in one at a time. (Read instructions, as there is a specific way to do this.)
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used this edging along a fence line to create a visual barrier between our dogs and the neighbor's dog from digging under the fence. Worked great and because it's black you don't even notice that it's there under the white vinyl fence. Very sturdy and easy to assemble.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
AFTER LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT EDGING THAT I PUT IN 8 YEARS AGO, I FOUND YOUR EDGING. AFTER BUYING IT, I WENT TO ANOTHER RETAILER AND FOUND IT FOR HALF THE PRICE, IT IS A DIFFERENT BRAND, BUT FRANKLY I PREFER THE EDGING I BOUGHT THERE. NOT YOUR FAULT, MINE
I ALSO WOULD NOT BUY THE WIDER UNITS, BUT PREFER A MEDIUM TO NARROW UNIT. I SOULD HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS MORE CLOSELY.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This was the perfect answer to our efforts to create an easy-maintenance yard when we built our home. We used it everywhere we wanted to contain rocks, barkdust, tree-surround, etc.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We are reconditioning beds. These make it very easy to contain and control adding potting soil and mulches. Be sure to buy the rubber mallet. It makes installation a snap!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the 4-inch pound-in edging to edge two flower beds in my front yard. I was a little doubtful that the edging would install as quickly as the description in the catalog claimed. I have heard horror stories from fellow gardeners about installing edging and was prepared for it to take a couple days for me finish edging both beds. Therefore, I was shocked when it took only a couple of hours total to install the edging for both beds. One bed took up a large portion of one half of the front yard. I used approximately 60 feet of edging. The other bed only took about 25 feet of edging. Both beds are randomly shaped with gentle curves. I found it very easy to gently bend the edging for the curves. The only thing that added extra time to the installation process was using the spade to mark the edge before installation. You probably won't have to do that if your soil isn't compacted and if you don't have tree roots to content with. I had both, so using the spade helped speed up the process when I started pounding in the edging. My mom and I installed the edging together so she started working the spade around the edge and then I followed with the edging pieces. I was very pleased with the look of the edging, which can be sort of covered up with pine straw or other mulch if you don't want to see the edging. I will definitely be purchasing this product again as I edge out the rest of my flower beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have a small garden in the front yard; I installed the edging to prevent dirt from spilling over the adjacent rock wall. A quick and easy fix!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We have had rabbits living under our shed ever since it was built, dining on our landscaping every winter. We tried several types of barriers to keep them out but nothing worked until we surrounded the whole thing with pound-in edging. This winter, no resident rabbits. This spring,a good chance of forsythia flowers finally.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This 12" tall edger was purchased to seperate a monkeygrass boarder from a flower bed. I am counting on it stopping their agressive monkey roots I have sunk it about 8" deep. Good points: the pieces fit together tightly, and it takes a gracefull curve. Looks great installed. Weak points: Requires soft soil, and it will not cut through existing roots.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Stiff plastic is easy to pound into soil and makes a good weed barrier. Six inch wide sections mean most curves are no problem.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We use these to help with terracing our hillside garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Works great for me. Keeps the soil from washing back onto my small patio. Not the most attractive product but I will plant flowers to soften the look in the spring. All in all, it's exactly what I had hoped for.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have not had the product long enough to give it a 5 star rating. I purchased the 12" edging in hopes of keeping burrowing animals from eating on the roots of my roses, only time will tell. If it works at deterring the vermin, I may need to put it on my Christmas list, it will be quite expensive to ring all my gardens with it.
Since we have pockets of clay, I chose to dig trenches to place the edging in, then I only had to pound it in about 1 inch. This worked well for me. The product was sturdy enough to withstand the pounding, but still easy enough to bend in order to make a corner. I am also hoping it will slow down the rate at which burmuda grass creeps into my beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is an excellent product. I have a channel, dug alongside the driveway, to let rain water get out. It continually fills up with leaves and debris and dirt. This pound-in edging prevents all of this from happening. Is kind of like the barriers they erect along the Mississipi River embankments.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is the best edging I've ever used. Sturdy and super easy to install, relocate, and adjust for size. In the past I've bought the rolled up edging at home improvement stores (you know - the cheap stuff that comes in one long piece, rolled up and won't unroll when you're trying to install it - very frustrating). This pound in edging is by far superior in quality and doesn't require cutting! I'll never buy any other kind again!! I also strongly recommend the rubber mallet for installation.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I needed these to go around an area beside my shed, where I had placed rocks and they were perfect for the job!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Haven't had long enough to "judge" weather resistent or rot resistent... so far so good... really easy to install and "shape" garden

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use the edging to keep unwanted plants from getting into my flower beds. The 12" edging goes in deeply enough to prevent underground grass and weed roots from getting under them. They are very effective.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Keeps the grass at bay.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We needed extra-deep edging to prevent raspberries from sending runners into the lawn. The test of that will come next year. It's great that it is made from recycled products. It wasn't so easy to pound in. Our soil is heavier in this area and we had to dig a trench first. This was the only product of its kind that i could find that was 12" deep.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used these to do our Lillies and they are busting up already. Gave a positive review when we first used them; but after the summer is over; I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Am looking for other pound-in edgers.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
After ten years some of ours bow out a little, but over all easy to install and gives a good look to your garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have used this product around the garden and around flower beds. I love this product it is easy to install and it looks great. I have had some edging over a year it has stayed put and it still looks fantastic. Love it and will likely buy more. Even though I wish it was a little less expensive...
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am totally in love with these! I am new to gardening and I can't tell you how much time these have saved me. These are very durable, easy to use and best of all they can be removed and reused over and over. I have used them for so many projects in my garden and because they are not attached with stakes like some edging which is why I personally love these. I have used them in one section for a year or two and then changed things around and reused them in a different area. My only complaint would be that I don't have enough of them!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used to buffer the brick walkway from the trim edger.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
It is really too early to fully review this product. It was very easy to install, but I do not know how well it will hold up to the freezing and thawing during the winter. Also, I don't know if it is deep enough to prevent the intrusion of the milkweek and wild grasses growing on the other side of the bed.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
For soft dirt, with no stones it was a breeze to install. Unfortunately this summer in the Northeast was a scorcher and the soil was baked hard as a rock. It took a little work and some ingenuity, but it looks great.
I would recommend this highly as a low cost, fairly easy to install edging.
Thanks GS!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We have tried several different edging systems in an attempt to contain pachysandra, and this product is head and shoulders above all the others we have installed. It truly is "pound-in" edging (depending of course on your soil), the pieces are sturdy but flexible, easy to connect, and the short widths allow you turn curves and corners wherever desired. A winner in our yard!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
used along a fence to prevent water drainage from neighbors' roof from over-flooding our narrow side yard. Perfect. Easy to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
These were easy to install (much easier than long pieces of bender board type edging). I used them to edge between a brick path and a bark filled area. I left about an inch above the ground so that the bark would stay in place. A friend commented that it looked like I had edged a picture with a black marker. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend these to others.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is easy to use and stands up well to weather. I've used it around flower beds and it does a great job keeping mulch from washing away and the weeds from invading.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is used to keep Zoysia from growing in to flower beds. It is also use to control dwarf bamboo.
One can create a circle or curves for controlling bamboo. By so doing one can enjoy the bamboo as it fills out the design.
Not easy to bend.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used it to keep a small patch of turf small. Ask me again in a couple of years, but so far so good and it stays hidden. Use a shovel to open a trench and hose down the ground as you go to make pounding each piece easier. In a couple of places I hit a rock which makes for uneven places, but mostly it went in well, even on the Colorado Front Range prairie.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I keep an old fshioned cottage garden which is chock full of perennials. I really wanted to grow goose neck loostrife, but I knew it would soon overtake it's alloted space and spread everywhere.
But when I saw this edging, I knew I had found the answer. I installed the 8" sections into a kidney shape growing space and planted my loosestrife in it. Perfect solution! It's been about 5 years now, and it has not escaped! I love it.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging looks better than any other edging product I've seen. Pounds in so easily I was sorry when I was finished with the yard. Always looking for more places to put it!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This product helped me to fill in a gap that existed inbetween two different colors of gravel in my xeriscaped backyard. I was able to use just enough edging to complete the barrier and didn't have to cut it to fit. I am extremely satisfied with the results!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I found this edging easy to use and it looks pretty good. I saw a cheaper looking version at [...] for a slightly higher price so the sale price was good. [...]
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging works perfectly around my flower beds especially on the curves. I have reordered twice and am very pleased with the quality. Only wish it came in colors other than black (green or brown) to blend in better.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Bought one box and it was not enough. Measured, using my foot, before purchasing my 1st box. I think the description did not give an accurate length? I had to purchase another box, hoping this will be enough.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am using this edging in the garden which backs on a woods/weeds/grass area in the hope of staving off some of the weed and wild grass rhizomes from invading the garden. It was easy to install; however, my final rating of the edging will depend on how well it handles the freeze/thaw weather we have here in Michigan in the winter.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use the product to create an edge for a bed where soil might run off onto a pathway. I put some in seven years ago in my last garden. It was still doing fine. I just put some into a new garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Pound in edging on a slope to hold mulch. It's easy to install and very durable. Not obtrusive.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Easy to install. I was able to pound in a box of them in under 30 minutes with a rubber mallet. Work well unless you have rocky soil. Wetting the soil beforehand will make installation go quicker. Sturdy design but don't do well when stepped on directly multiple times. Look great by adding a solid dark edge to my garden beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is easier to pound in than other edging I have purchased. The slots are wide enough so that the next piece fits in easily, and also it bends easily around corners.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
easy to use---does the job!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
i have a small area that is full of asparagus ferns. i needed to add depth so i could add soil and these worked great. they even prevent water run-off. easy & efficient.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Pounding in was tough because some of my soil is very rocky. I've put in many, many feet of this edging and typically use a shovel to create the space. Once in, though, it's great at keeping grass from growing into my gardens. The difference in the weeds between gardens with edging and without makes the effort of putting it in worthwhile, and it's virtually unnoticeable once installed.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
good edging, easy to put together and use. A bit hard to trim or cut if needed and there is no 6" length making the jump from 4" to 8" a big one. That would be the only sort of down side.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Good product it works as advertised
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Creates a scalloped appearance, but does the job of keeping garden bed edges neat. I used a flat-bladed spade to define the bed edge prior to installing edging with a rubber mallet. The sturdy plastic is easy to cut with shears or snips if underground obstacles are encountered. Its flexibility allows one to easily describe curves.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Easy to install and provided the edge that was needed in a special dry bed garden area.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used this along our fence to keep the niebors grass from growing into our flower beds. This design works well because they go deep into the soil. I looked everywhere, and the others I found only went in a couple inches which isn't as effective.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
So easy to put in. Anyone can do it.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used to keep mulch off the sidewalk
Helped to retain moisture for plants and soil on a hillside
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Nice edging, easy to install. All you need is a rubber mallet, four inch is a perfect size.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
ended up needing shovel/edger to create trench to set edging - wouldn't go deep enough (below frost line) with rubber mallet pounding
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging was very easy to install. Reading some prior reviews, we used a shovel to dig the track before pounding the edging in. We had watered our lawn several hours before, and with the ground still being somewhat soft, the edging went in nicely. In several places, no prior work was needed, just pound it in. The installation also went quickly. We installed 180 feet in just about two hours. Would definitely buy this product again.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've never installed any edging before, so framing the area around my raised vegetable beds was a first step. We have dense clay soil, and for at least half of the total length of 40', I had to use an edging tool to cut a channel. Where the ground was more friable, installation was quick. It's attractive-looking, yet unobtrusive.

I took another's suggestion and wet the dirt before I started to put the edging in and had not one problem. I ordered more because we like the look, the value and the ease of putting them in so much we decided to put more in areas we originally didn't anticipate. Very happy!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
You advertised it as easy to use and this is so very true. Even two of my bed, which are round, were completed in record time by simply bending the middle a bit and hooking them together. A child could do this and yet it looks like the work of an experienced landscaping company. I'm very satisfied.
Edging along garden, done in about 1/2 hour!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The front beds of my house have brick retaining walls, however, the soil and mulch is the same height as the wall, so when I watered the mulch would fall out onto the pavement.
It wouldn't be practical or good for the plants to remove soil, so I put in this edging.
I purchased the 8" size, and pounded it in so about half of it was exposed.
This worked well- now the soil and mulch stays in the bed and I was even able to add more mulch, which the bed needed.
The edging looks nice. I put in some plants in the front of the bed to grow over the edging.
The product is easy to use - I used a rubber mallet to install them. They bend, and I was able to make a curve with them. All of them bend in half, so you can install them at a corner.
I have not had them long enough to know how they will hold up in the winter, or whether they fade or not.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
These edging pieces did not pound into the ground as described on the web site. They went in a few inches and then just bent over when attempting to get them further into the ground. We even wet the ground first and then tried to get them further into the ground, but that did not work. I was completely disappointed in this product and consider it a huge waste of money (approx.$80)

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I had to add my own use for your 12" edging. I have 2 tortoises which are keep in a very large fenced area, complete with burrow. If tortoises can see through a fence, they become agitated and try to get through the fence or dig under. I used your edging on the inside of the fence to block their views. They are in the ground only one inch and I used wood stakes to brace them up. They were very easy to install, especially since the 2 ft high fence is winding around trees, shrubs and flowers. And yes they are weather resistant - having lasted through 3 desert summers, and they still look great.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I was looking for a solution to my window wells being infiltrated by silt and debris during heavy rains - voila! I had experienced two very messy, costly and time-consuming cleanups, not to mention the loss of some items due to water/silt damage. I was very happy to find this easy, inexpensive solution!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I like that product comes in 3 different sizes for different types of plants.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought these to keep the grass from taking over our patio planted with creeping thyme. We have hard packed soil but wanted to stop the invasion. I was hoping to just hammer it in but that was not happening. I ended up digging out the rock pavers, digging a foot deep trench and placing the edging. Then it was easy! So I recommend this for beginning edging projects not so much for established areas. I hope it works so can't say if it has done it's job just yet.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The edging worked real good!!!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The edging was easy to install -looks great
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
See above comments added under "pros". Also, to clarify my second-to-last "pro" entry since I ran out of space, the short lengths prevent the rocking or see-sawing that can occur when trying to set longer lengths.
FYI, I am a professional gardener/landscaper.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This product effectively prevented grass to grow into a garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is the best edging product I've found. I think they are a little on the pricy side, but well worth the money in the end.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I find them very convenient and easy to use when you have VERY rocky soil. It is difficult to use something with large sections. Have used these for several years. I have used two different sizes depending on the job and both have worked well.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I wanted a simple way to edge my planter bed to keep the grass from invading. This was perfect. It is simple and easy to install. Doesn't take away anything from the plants. You hardly notice it which is what I wanted. I can't get over how easy it was to install. The only hard part was when I hit a tree root and had to cut through it. I got the 8" and it's great!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought the 4" edging and found it quite easy to install with the rubber mallet that is recommended. It takes a while, as the sections are short, but otherwise it's no big deal. I wanted a more or less invisible barrier between grass and border, and this seems ideal.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We edged our beds to stop the infiltration of our lawn/sod from choking the border plants. It also made mowing up to the beds easier.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used these to line the back edge of my garden in order to keep the weeds from my neighbor's fence line from creeping in. Hope it works.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Harder to install than I thought. But is now working great to keep the flowers in the garden and the grass in the lawn! If you don't have deep root problems, use the 4". Much easier to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
used this to enclose a small 3 ft by 12 ft flower garden - making a raised garden on the jeep - lots of clay in area - it will help keep in the top soil & potting mix stay in the garden and not wash away in the rain
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
After using the 8" this was a breeze. You do need to prep area with spade first; but a rubber mallot gets them right into the ground. Almost invisible when istalled properly!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I couldn't be;lieve how easy these were to pound into the groun. I was using the 4 inch size to help keep the stones I have in my beds from not falling onto the sidewalk next to it. It worked like a dream and looks nice to boot. I'm waiting on my next boxes to arrive so I can continue using them in my other beds. Buy them...you won't be sorry!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Pounded them in deep enough on the perimeter of my vegetable garden so that the vining weeds cannot pass through underground.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The beds in front of my house have brick retaining walls, but the soil is so high. When I water a new plant along the front edge, the water runs off onto the concrete, and some soil comes with it, too. Also, the soil drys out quickly.
So, I installed this edging, effectively making the bed wall higher, and now the soil won't run off and I even have room for mulch, which will further delay the soil from drying out.
It was very easy to install, using a rubber mallet. I purchased the 8" edging and I have average, enriched soil - not clay and not sandy.
Definitely a great solution.
However, I will wait to see how it holds up over the winter.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We have a lot of ground cover of various types. The ivy was mixing with the Vinca and the PACHYSANDRA was invading the perennials. We installed this edging between the worst offenders about two years ago, and we haven't had a cross-over or invasion in those areas since. If you use an edging blade/tool to make a trench they will be much easier to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
It's super easy to install, and relocate ... When you hammer with the rubber mallet it doesn't damage them. If I move again I'll take them all with me! (I have 2 boxes of the 12" and 3 boxes of the 8"in my gardens).
In addition to the simple and clean look as garden edging, I also have a row in front of my screened-in porch and I now get no more of the sandy overflow from the rain on my Florida garden just outside.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is the third time we ordered this product this season. We find many uses for it. Edging is the main use but it is great to use as a temporary barrier to hold in dirt when planting shrubs...peony bushes.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This product is attractive and easy to install. The only possible drawback is that it can bend under the strain of ice and snow. However, in the fall I usually remove it so that it doesn't get damaged and reinstall it in the late spring. It really doesn't take that much time. All I do is mark the inside of each piece starting with number 1 where I start removing the pieces so I know exactly where they were the year before. That saves time in the spring. I have to do that only because of the odd size of my flower gardens. If you need to cut a piece horizontally to fit somewhere, I used a carpet knife and a marking pen to measure how much needs to be cut off and scored the piece and then I used a hacksaw to start sawing it at the top and bottom and then just cracked it at that line. You cannot buy this 12" edging anywhere locally.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the 4" to build a little retaining and build-up area for a small rock garden. Worked as expected and I could actually have used taller ones.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Great for forming borders\boundaries prior to installing permanent structures with brick, treated wood etc. This material can be use for a couple of years if not permanately.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used them to define a new garden bed and to replace wood borders in an old bed. By bending the centers of each piece we made a circular garden. However, roots from bermuda grass travel underneath and get into the bed, so I would probably get the tallest size of edging next time, instead of the medium. The edging shifts overtime but is easy to re-align. It is easiest to re-align or install when the soil is moist. It is light weight but sturdy and easy to work with.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Worked perfectly for a side garden with a wood fence at the back to prevent the mulch and garden soil from washing out under the fence.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use this product installed at ground level to maintain clean edges around flower beds. It is easy to install if the ground is not extremely hard and/or rocky, invisible on casual inspection and can be mowed over without damage to product or mower.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Second set of these for a 12X12 garden expansion. The first set we bought 2 years ago for our original 16X32 garden plot have held up well. I weed eat against these once a week from April through November and they are not breaking down at all. In Texas, get these in the ground in the winter or spring when the clay is wet.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the 8" to border a flower bed and it looks nice plus was easy to install. Time will tell if it will fade in sunlight.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used these to set up new flower beds 5 years ago and they are still doing the trick. I really liked that they are flexible and I could use to edge curved beds. I'm now looking to remove the 4" edging and use one of the taller sizes to edge a slightly elevated planting area. I agree that it was tricky to pound the scalloped edge without having it bend, but maybe the edging can be installed upside down to make use of the straight edge on the bottom.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This size edger is terrific for closing gaps under wooden fences, bordering gardens to keep soil and mulch in place, and creating ledges for hilly garden areas.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought several boxes of the 8" edging to put around flower beds in my parking strip. So far I am thrilled; I can't speak to how they hold up over time or whether they fade in sunlight, but they were very easy to install, they look tidy and nice and they are keeping my sidewalk clean. I will probably get more for another area of my yard.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Helps to use a spade first to get a good, deep cut. The edging pounds in easily.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use at the community garden plot. Much easier to install than the long black edging. Can be used to create multiple levels for herbs and strawberries.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Product works great in securing mulch beds. It is not, however, strong enough in places with lots of roots, so I recommend keeping that in mind.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Other edgings I've used cannot compare to this pound-in.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
My husband and I use this edging to define flower beds from lawn. It really helps keep grass from growing into flower beds and diverts downspout water that was washing away soil from tree roots. If you install it after a good rain, it goes in easily even in our natural clay soil. Then I line the garden side with small rocks that turn up in our garden soil. I'll be ordering more edging soon.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Wanted an edging that was 8 inch deep to keep the grass out of the garden areas and span some large roots and this is the only edging I could find to go with the 4 inch that I had already installed. Easy to install but don't try pounding it in more than 1/2 inch (I have sandy soil) - Just dig a trench, set it and then backfill. I have used the 4 inch in some other parts of the garden and the ends break easily on tight curves. It is not the most attractive edging - but I have settled on this because it does the job.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Good edging, easy to install IF your ground is soft. If not, or if you hit a root or rock, the piece will bend and split open with repeated pounding. Also, doesn't always stay locked together when installng, but that doesn't seem to make a difference with the finished product. Looks nice when installed.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've used this edging to keep the soil from washing off my flower beds onto the lawn or driveway. It's easy to use and works very well.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We were trying to preserve some ferns that our Grandmother had planted on a slight hill nearly 80 years ago. Erosion had really become an issue,
and the roots of ferns were sitting well above ground. We set up two upper tiers, using the pound-in edging to help maintain the earth--we then brokeup the ferms into smaller units and replanted them. The whole area looks --FABULOUS!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
In 35 years of using different edging products, this is the first one I would buy again.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used to edge patches that had to have extra dirt to avoid flooding.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Two things would make these much better: First, the top edge should be flat, not curved, so the user can apply pressure along several inches, or even use a board along the whole top, to pound it in. With contact along a curve, on only one point, it sometimes bends. Also a flat top is more unobtrusive -- I don't want to make any "decorative statement" with black plastic edging. At least this one doesn't have little scallops all along it.
Second, the bottom edge should be toothed or pointed, to go into the soil more easily.
That said, I use these not only to edge beds, but to contain invasive plants within flower beds and to direct water flow. I also use them as temporary edging, when seeding grass along a flower bed, etc.
Also, the interlocking joints work well. I recently used just one section to divert some water and just drove a thin rod down the "receiving" groove.
And it's great they come in four heights.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used this edging to keep the pasture grass from crawling into our perennial garden in the back yard. It works great, it is easy to bend for corner placement. All I needed was a rubber mallet and a pair of gloves.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
easy to use... rugged... should do exactly what its inyended for, I'll be getting more
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used it to edge a lawn that I had landscaped - needed something to keep the mulch off the driveway and sidewalk. This was perfect.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used around flower bed next to sidewalk. Soil was washing away whenever it rained. This edging kept the soil in place. The sections slipped easily together. Can't say anything against it as I've only has it for a couple months.. Next spring I should be able to tell about durability.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Absolutely perfect for my needs.
Created a raised roadbed for my garden trains

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is a good edging in that it succeeds in disappearing into the yard. I bought the 4" that I think is really too shallow, but the 8" is too deep. I'd like to see the 6" size available again.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used this product to put a neat edge around my flower beds in the front yard. I could not have asked for a quicker, easier to install product. I spent very little time putting the edging in, and it looks like a million bucks.
Now my soil and water stay in the flower beds and don't run out to the sidewalk.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We use these to edge and contain beds. We had the longer size and realized with our clay soil we could better use the 4" because we could sink them in better. The only problem was around trees; had to cut them to accomodate the roots.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I install it "up side down" because I think it is more decorative that way, and it works just as well.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am going towards a Florida Friendly Yard--plantings which require less water or are drought tolerant...have planted Perennial Peanut instead of St. Augustine in my front yard due to less watering and chemicalling...my homeowners' association requested I have some way of preventing creepage of the Perennial Peanut into neighbors yard...saw this 8-inch and it looked like it might due the trick...time will tell since I just installed it this month! However, I have been impressed with the ease of use and the way the interlocking edging contains the Perennial Peanut.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Keeps my neighbors grab grass from rooting under the fence and into my yard. Allows me to terrace in small areas that add to the beauty of my flowering beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I merely liked this product until I tried the hardware store alternative in a pinch. Pound-In Edging installed in a fraction of the time and with much less wrangling, digging and dirt flying everywhere. I'm a believer now - it's worth the extra $ [...]

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used these to divert rain run-off that was coming into our yard from the neighbor's. We were getting a huge volume of water from multiple house that were up from us. I arranged the tongue and groove to go with the water flow to ensure no seapage. They worked perfectly. If you are trying to block run-off from getting from one area of your lawn to another, this is your answer!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I love this edging. I have used both this and the 8" in the past. It is very easy to use as an instant border, around trees to contain a mulch bed, or as an effective barrier to erosion. As long as you have a rubber mallet, installation is easy! It looks great and wears well. I highly recommend it.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
works GREAT just what I needed
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used this product to outline a flower bed in the back yard and along the house entrace -- very easy to install and looks good, also easy to use weedeater with damaging the edging.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is easy to install and looks good.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used as Garden Edging to hold deeper garden soil allowing a slightly raised bed in a limited space.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The fittings could be much tighter; no mallet required; the pieces pull apart too easily compared to similar, sturdier products I've bought. The strength needs to be enhanced.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The 12" edging has contained the perennails - such as monarda and physotegia - that tend to spread into neighboring clumps of perennials or bulbs.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Our whole garden is on an incline and we use the edging to hold back the soil in front of larger plants and to form a well that will retain water till it absorbs and doesn't run off the plants.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've used these for years to edge beds,to contain invasive plants within flower beds, and to hold an edge when I'm starting grass next to a flower bed. It works well, just needs to be pounded back in after a winter of heaving.
But two things would improve the design: The top edge should be straight, not slightly curved. It would hammer in better and be less visible. And the bottom edge should be saw-toothed, to hammer into the ground easier.
I have in the past bought edging with that design. I only find it now on English websites.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have ordered a lot of the 4". We have very hard rocky clay soil, so the 4" is easier to install. I have tried the pound in method, but doesn't seem to work well for me. I use a straight edge shovel, make a small cut in the soil, then place the edge, push down the soil around it and mulch to hide any dirt that came up. It goes faster for me and looks neater. My 4 yo even likes to help. I have used it around a tree in my front yard to keep the mulch from washing into the grass during heavy rains; around my pool patio to keep mulch off the patio which ends up in the pool by peoples feet; and around sidewalks to keep mulch neat and from washing across during heavy rains. I am going to try to mix the 8" on bad areas that rain water puddles terribly during heavy rains and mulch washes over the edging. We'll see how it goes. A C.S. rep said the 4 and 8" would connect but would be uneven. To hide the unevenness, I will plant some low plants. I would buy a lot more and plan to, but it is a little pricey, so have to save. However time wise, much better than the long coils that take more than one person to do; I'm the only one who does this. Plus this really does work, so less work for me to clean up after every rain storm. I just keep a list of the next place I need it. Love it!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
we use this to reinforce the bottom edge of a wire rabbit fence, to prevent their digging under the wire. the fence runs the length of our rear yard and the plastic edging works quite well in discouraging the rabbits' attempts to dig under.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I was impressed overall, but in some areas we have rocks under the soil so prep work needs to be done before hand, otherwise some border pieces will not penetrate the soil deep enough and will be insecure.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This was very easy to install and looks great.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The edging was fairly quick to install with the rubber mallet. We waited until after a good rain to get the Georgia clay fairly soft. It looks great and we will have to see if the zoysia grass runner roots make it past into the islands! We used 4 boxes - 80 feet!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We put this around our flower beds mainly to keep the grass out. It has worked great. We have not had to pull weeds very often. It has also been great on keeping the mulch from running into the yard and onto the sidewalk when it rains. This is the 2nd time I purchased this product. My husband even loves it.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have used this product in all of my garden beds that do not have a brick wall. My main goal is to keep the grass from creeping in. I am hoping I found the product that will solve this problem. I am just waiting to see how it holds up in the winter weather.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I first purchased the 4" edging, thinking these would be enough, but after I put them in and when you are mowing your yard you find out that you need some that are little longer. I had seen the 8" and the 12" in your book but I could not find them anywhere, I'm happy you sent another book and when I saw them I ordered them. The best thing about them, is all the sizes work great together. do they come in another color.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Not really that easy to pound in, I had to dig a small trench first to install. But it can do fairly tight radius curves.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have ordered this product three times! I love it.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I was attempting to use the product as designed: as edging to prevent soil erosion between my foundation plantings and the patio and sidewalks. I could only pound in two before giving up. Eventually I gave up and settled on lumber to define the sidewalk area. For the rear of the patio I used a spade to start the border which made it easier to insert the edging; the mallet just couldn't handle it. It took a couple of hours to install but it looks good and does what its required to do. Would recommend with reservations.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
easy and quick to use, plus looks great
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've used this product to edge almost every place in my front and back yard that needed edging. I love it! I have a problem only when I run into a stone or tree roots. I have heavily compacted soil so I soak the area first to soften it up.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I pounded these in about a year ago and they have been where I left them since. They are attractive and sortta give a third dimenssion to my lawn
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used this product to edge both rock and mulch. I bought the 4" and found them a little difficult to install. However, the ground I was working with was very hard. Puting them in place then watering the area helped. It is best to tap with medium pressure as hammering hard can bend them. Once I got the hang of it they went in quicky. Love that you can put them in individually. I will be buying more of this product.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Use the edging to define existing beds and then later expand the bed by using more edging to make it bigger.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used for edging the flower bed.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We put in a patio with 12x12 blocks along the front of our house but wanted to preserve a small garden (about 3' by 18") along the wall where I have a clematis vine growing. We used the Pound-in edge to hold the blocks secure and the dirt and plants in place. We used the 8 inch edge to go deep enough to hopefully keep plant roots from lifting the blocks.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have used these to create raised beds for my vegetable garden. Less expensive than Forever Raised Beds but probably a little more work and beds aren't as deep. My veggies seemed happy anyway.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have a flower garden that's on the side of a hill. The mulch kept falling onto the grass. I installed this about a foot from the lower edge and it keeps the mulch in nicely.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Edging was easy to install - we have rocky clay soil, so having the pieces individually to install was much easier than fighting with a long rigid edging. Worked very well

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Needed to pre-dig a slot before the edging would go to full depth.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Good: I think it will last forever. It is not visibly intrusive. Nice low profile. I would recommend this to a friend to use in a straight line.
Bad: It was not as easy to do corners as information made me expect it to be. Surrounding grass and weed roots will be able to get in through the gaps at the corners where I couldn't get it to bend. That is a disappointment.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Was so impressed with first buy and front yard around trees that I tripled my purchase and did all the flower beds in the back yard. Extremely easy to put together and install. Recommend you put the entire arrangement together first and then pound in the ground. The 4 inch edging was just the right height ie it keeps the grass out and is not visibile.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Love it!!! I used it to make borders around groups of trees (mostly birch)and planted groundcover. The groundcover is completely contained, it looks very neat and tidy, and I don't have to mow right around the trees. I get comments all the time. Occasionally I had some trouble pounding it into hard or rocky soil, but I assummed that would be the case.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
a little pricey for my taste, but the only product i could find with that much heighth.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I love this stuff -- very adaptable to many locations in the yard.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is everything as advertized. Easy to install, is flexable for curvy edges and durrable.
It really helps keep weeds out of the garden. It gives a flower bed a finished look.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I'm using this product to keep the spreaders from taking over my entire flower beds. I'll know the result in a few growing seasons.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
fit just what I needed
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've put this edging around a large new garden plot in the center of a huge lawn. My hope is that the grass roots will stop trying to regrow in the new area. Time will tell. In the meanwhile the edging is neat, easy to install and attractive. It is easily seen by the people mowing the grass.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have bought these edgers many times, in all sizes, as I find more things they can do. I've tried other edging, but these are the best. I have not found any downsides to them.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought the four inch edging. Pounds in flush with the ground -- unobtrusive and functional.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am using this to trim a rock garden I just established.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging, unlike the long rolls of rubber edging which are difficult to manage, is so easy to use! It easily turns corners, and I like the interlocking pieces, which go in much faster than any other edging I've tried.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have a sloping area where I planted a flower bed and I used it to help stop erosion. It is easy to install and looks good, also.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is amazing! I bought one package of it to see if it worked well, and then I bought a lot of it to use all over my yard. It is easy to install--simply pound it in--and it stays in place and looks great. I am so glad I found it at Gardener's Supply Company!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This product effectively keeps the grass from the lawn out of my flower beds. I also use it in my vegetable garden to "trap" the water that would run off, away from my plants, as I water them.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Our gardens are on a hillside and we have sandy soil. This edging not only defines the beds but also helps hold mulch in place when it rains. I also use pieces of the 12" edging around some plants to help keep the moisture from flowing downhill too quickly. It also works well (so far) keeping plants that spread via roots in their places. We're very happy with both the 8" and 12" edging.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We recently put in a cobblestone walkway on a sloping area beside our house. There was an existing garden bed there that always had dirt
washing out of it. The ground is a little rocky and uneven, but the pieces
went in easily, and made a nice scalloped edge between the flower bed and the cobblestones. The area has never looked better. I wish I had known
about this product all the times I was fighting with the twisty, one-piece edging. This product is GREAT!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
It's easy to install, it's sturdy, and it holds up against the elements (heavy rains)
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is a great product and we are well pleased with the outcome. It's the details that make a garden and lawn look great
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This keeps my lawn on encroaching on my garden in a subtle way.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have eked out a vegetable patch behing my fenced in yard in an area that gets run off when it rans - only place with enough sun for vegies. Good news is the area gets moisture. Bad news is that during a heavy ran, it gets a lot of run off that removes soil & mulch. This edging was the perfect answer to have something that was easy to install, protects the vegie patch, and diverts run off while retaining moisture within the bed. I love it!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've used this to keep mulch from migrating to the lawn. You do have to trim around it but it is quite easy.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I've bought this edging before and shall be ordering more very soon. I have reclaimed some abandoned flower beds on a local traffic circle and the edging helps keep the grass and weeds from getting back in after I've dug them out: even the underground roots are discouraged.
The edging is easy to install, and once it's in it's permanent. It also makes it easy for the Parks Department people to see exactly where the borders of the beds are so that they know where not to mow and weed whack.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Our sandy soil makes installing this edging really simple. It is much easier than the long rolls of edging. We use it to retain the rock mulch, mark design spaces, and separate vegetables. There are times when 6" edging is enough, but we need 12" to separate roots.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We use this edging around a tree to keep chips off the lawn, along driveway plantings to keep dirt/mulch off driveway, and in garden areas. It is weather resistant, very durable and survives Minnesota winters well! Easy to use and pound in and flexible to configure since you are not dealing with a long roll or longer rigid sections.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I completely restored our rustic stairway in the backyard. We were experiencing erosion at the sides of each step. We pounded in the edging and refilled each step with gravel and pavers and the erosion is stopped. The plantings conceal the edging. I see this as a permanent fix, easily accomplished.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Very easy to install, durable, makes professional-looking edging a snap
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
It is the perfect edging. I intend to use it elsewhere in my garden
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I initially purchased this pound-in edging nearly ten years ago as a quick and easy way to keep my mulch from creeping onto my sidewalk and driveway. It was easy to install with a rubber mallet, and, though utilitarian, the scalloped edge made it look nice overall. It still looks nice, so when my mother needed to fix a similar situation, I recommended it to her. Really does the job!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Was thinking about using cedar to border our garden when my wife noticed this in the catalog. Very impressed with the product and the ease of use. We think it is a good look as the garden border and was much cheaper than cedar. In the hard clay soil of North Texas, put this product in the ground during the spring when it is a little wet.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I purchased the 8 inch size and I love it. I like the scalloped look to it and I like how high it is; I was able to put a lot of mulch behind it. I've only had it several weeks, so I can't speak of any fading as yet. It was very easy to install. I did, however, dig a line where I wanted to install it and that made it a lot easier.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used this around my house to separate gardens from grass. It is a cinch to install. It is easy to make gentle bends as well as corners. I used the 4" size and hammered them all the way down. The documentation does not say that each piece has a slight (~1/2") crown, so you really can't put them in flush with the ground. I used them to replace the 4" plastic border you buy in 20' rolls and have to sink all at once. Frost heaves mess that up every winter and it is a pain to re-sink entire sections every year. If frost kicks these up, it should be simple to hammer individual pieces back down.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We have moderately rocky soil so for a couple pieces I used a heavy duty screw driver to move the offending stone out of the way. Otherwise it installed very easily. It probably didn't hurt that we've had rain of biblical proportions lately to soften the ground! I'm surprised though by the few reviews complaining that the edging bent because even when we hit rocks the edging never bent. We will definitely be buying more to do other beds in the yard.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used for outling flower garden from the lawn area. Great but still haven't finished it yet
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am having an erosion problem in my backyard. When it rains, water from my neighbors yard washes away everything in my yard. I used this product to redirect the rain elsewhere and it works great.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used it around my pond to help hold water in and deter moles from digging holes to the pond.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I ordered this edging to go along a path. Here in NC, the ground is red clay and full of rocks, but these are tough enough to go into the earth. It helps if you use a straight edge shovel to make a trench and you have to use something sharp to cut any in-the-way roots. I am really pleased.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
it is easy to put in and it loks in place. Will bend but it takes some manipulating.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Using for edging around flowers and bushes. Holds up dirt behind edging very well.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used the 8 inch edging to border a perennial garden that was once a patch of lawn. The edging keeps out creeping grass. The scalloped designed is very pleasing to the eye. [...] We will also use the edging to keep the strawberry plants from spreading over our vegetable garden. One will find numerous uses for this product. Kudos!!!!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I have put this around a flower bed that has been a problem to enclose and it is working really well. It was easy to install, is sturdy, and I expect it to last a long time.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This product, once in, looks good and I'm happy with the final outcome. Putting it in was a bit more difficult because of roots and stones that needed to be dug out before pounding in the edging.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging is easy to put in and creates a nice, neat look to a flower bed.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I had to set a visible sign to protect my flower bed from the careless use of a weed whacker, it worked, thank you!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used it to define 'scapes in a relatively large yard. It was a cinch to install. The most difficult part was removing the roots of large trees so that it could form an even edge. It doesn't make "round" corners as easy as it sounds.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I was not sure that I wpuld like this product before I bought it. Once I [...] put it together, I was so happy with the purchase. The edging was just what we needed for our rose garden to keep the mulch in place on the patio. It does a great job doing that, and it gives a nice finished look to the garden. It is easy to install, and worth the money.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought this 12" edging hoping to control my expanding raspberry patch. I did have to use a shovel to dig a trench and then pound the edging in. But it was convenient being able to work a section at a time and not worry about one end coming up while working in another area. I would love to buy more but its a litte costly. If you pound to much on a section it bends and then makes it difficult to put in the ground.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I was having a problem with water and dirt spilling all over the driveway every time to rained. This took care of the problem. It was quick and easy to install and created a barrier to keep dirt where it belongs. Perfect.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
It's nice product but it doesn't work so well in North Texas clay. Even after days of rain, we couldn't get the edging to go into the ground even half way. I bought the 8 inch deep to keep grass out of my garden. We ended up having to remove what we tried putting in using just the rubber mallet. We tilled the ground. Once we did that, they went in nicely. They look good and seem to be doing a good job.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
good for soil that isn't "perfect". pounds in easy and goes around corners.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
my raised bed gardens had some gaps between the side rails and the ground where the soil could wash out. This was the perfect product to fill in that space. They were easy to install and even though they aren't meant to bee seen, they look attractive around the sides of my garden beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
These were easy to install but time consuming as I had a large garden to encircle. The soil under my garden was sand and the natural soil was clay. This made it hard to pound in the edging in some areas. The clay was tough and the sand was easy but would not hold the border in the ground so some of the pieces fell over. Generally, in normal soil, these would be wonderful little edgers.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
had a rubber mallet but should have bought one
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Use this product to outline most of my gardens and to surround peonies and roses to protect them from weed-whackers and lawn mowers.
They are fairly easily damaged by snow piled up by plows and don't sustain direct hits by lawnmower blades, but are fairly easy to replace. I've used this edging for almost 20 years-does that tell you anything?
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Made my garden look so much neater. Holds in my pond rock and creates a clean edge and disappears.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The edging connected very easily. Worked exactly as described. The perfect height...I was having trouble finding this size anywhere I looked,,,until I found it at Garder's Supply
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I am currently doing several earthart installations and love this edging as it allows me to define my space in a flexible manner.
Thanks
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I bought a package of this to try out around my vegetable garden. It was easier to use than I thought - very easy to put in with the rubber mallet (even in my rocky New England soil). And it didn't take long either. I liked it so much that I bought more to put around my flower beds.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I think I really like this edging. You can pound it close to the surface, or leave a visible edge.
The only thing that I ran into was the fact that if you have any waver in your ground surface, or if one side of the ground is softer than the other where you are pounding an edge in, it is possible to dislodge the connection with the prievious piece... this is a nusance, but can be avoided or reset with a patience and care.
Overall these seem sturdy and flexible enough to match any edge. I purchased the 4" pieces and pounded them nearly flush with the thatch height of the lawn.I'm now wondering if I should have gone up a size just to be sure that grass doesn't creep by.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The picket fence in our front yard is set back a bit, with flowers planted in front of it. But, due to a slight slope in the yard, after a hard rain, the mulch and even some soil would end up on the sidewalk, creating a muddy, unattractive mess. I'd tried installing the long strip style garden edging, but too much digging, sweating and swearing was involved, so I gave up on it. When I saw the 4" pound-in edger, I knew this had to be easier. I was able to install it across 30 feet of front yard in a little over an hour, barely breaking a sweat, with nary a swear word escaping my mouth! It makes the front look nice and tidy, and we've had numerous heavy storms, and the only thing that ends up on the sidewalk is rain and maple seeds (another story altogether), but no more mulch and soil!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used it around my garden. I can now mow over it to get close to the edge of my garden. Before it was in completely several pieces blew out of the ground.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Great for holding in mulch/chips -- has worked well along to keep chips from washing onto the driveway. Also will be using around a tree in front yard to keep chips around the base and help with ease in trimming grass around the area.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This really reduces the grass invasion. Plus, you can pound it down to ground level to keep it out of sight and away from the trimmer.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Pound-in Edging is easy to install and easy to shape a garden bed that is not square. I used it to make a circular bed around the trees in my front yard to plant a shade tolerant ground cover, as I can't grow grass in the shade. I have had many compliments from the neighbors.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the product as a border for a rock garden. It is serving that purpose extremely well. The only problem I had was making right turns. I was able to solved the problem by working back from them instead of toward them.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the edging around my plants in the backyard. They make a nice
definition between the lawn and the garden, plus it holds back the mulch
that I added to the garden.
It was easy to install. Actually, easier than I thought it would be.
It looks great!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This is the best and easiset to install edging that I have ever found. I would highly recommend it!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We used it around our garden to edge the mulch and it looks great and is easy to mow around. Perfect finishing touch!

Ordered the 4" edging for a new bed that we put in. Was easy to install and easy to shape and it looks great.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use the edging around my garden and shrub borders. It makes a clean line with the grass and keeps the weeds from entering my beds. I've used it for years and am very happy with the product.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We were having trouble with our front beds washing into the yard. Based on other reviews, I decided to try this edging and am very happy with the result. It was easy to install with a rubber mallet and actually looks better than I expected. I'm waiting on the next big rain, but I don't think those beds are going anywhere!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
For my very small yard and the flower beds I created around the periphery, I needed edging that would keep the grass out of the flower borders and the flowers and mulch from spilling into the grass. I also needed something to keep the mower from running into the flower borders. This edging was the perfect solution. It was easy to install (I did it after rains which made it easy to press into place through the clay soil), it was flexible to bend into shape around the oval and circular borders of my flower beds, and it can take bumping from the mower without being dislocated. My yard is on a slant and water used to run down and off the yard, washing away soil and mulch into the sidewalk. This edging effectively keeps even the heaviest rain from washing away my soil, mulch and flowers and helps hold the water where it is needed in the flower beds. It also looks good.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used it around flower beds in my from yard and around blackberry bushes in the back yard.

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Used as a border around newly planted ornamental grasses
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
We actually purchased this product to help divert water drainage from another neighbors yard. It worked like a charm, was easy to install.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Interlocking plates, somewhat difficult to use in firm soil, solid, easy to use
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
the pound in edging is easy to install and looks great. helps to keep my flowers in line and not all over the place.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
my backyard is on a slope. It has begun to erode. so, I am using the edging to prevent erosion as I try to make Lasagna Gardens in between the edging row.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Works well in clay soil
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
due to the number of rocks in my yard, it is difficult to use a long roll of landscape edging (always hit rocks and by the time I dig them out, I have upset what I put in). With this product, one can easily set in the edging and dig up a rock without upsetting the piece previously put in. Easy to use - just need a rubber mallet. I also use them as water reservoirs with new plantings, especially when planting on hills - keeps the water from running off.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Easy to pound in even rock hard soil.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I inadvertently "created" a water run-off problem when I paved my driveway and this edging solved it - no more problems with heavy rain wiping out my mulch and top soil. I definitely recommend use of a straight-edge shovel to speed installation and assure a fairly clean line. I started off at ground level just pounding in sections which was pretty easy but it was smarter when I pulled it up and restarted with a shoveled cut so I could see my path more clearly. As usual...live & learn!
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Used to keep mulch from washing out into the yard after a good rain and to keep my Buffalo grass from creeping into my flower beds. I used the 8" border.
A little hard keeping a straight line even with a
string line but at least it works and a woman can do it so she doesn't have to wait for a man. Pound in after it rains and then go back and pound in some more after the next rain.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I love it. Looks great. I got the 8 inch size and I like the way it looks almost scalloped depending on how deep you hammer each section. Definitely high enough to hold back a lot of mulch or stone.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
seems to work in solving sandy erosion problems on my steep hilly garden
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I use the product to keep the mint from getting out of hand, to keep soil in the bed from washing away, and to keep the lawn mower guy from going over the top of new shrubs (he did it three times last year).
It is very quick and easy to install. But it's black, and I think that a very dark green would be more attractive.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Around my raised gardens, it holds the mulch in, and keeps the creepy grasses out. The look is like that of a well manicured garden. Living in a rocky area, it was alittle difficult putting it in the ground, but well worth the effort.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Goes in easily and has a nice clean look (one neighbor thought it was fancy metal edging.) Used it to line a walk and keep the mulch in the adjacent beds, plus a variety of other uses.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
This edging has been great in any area of my garden. I ended up using it in places I didn't even intend to. The only downside is that it's not very good for places you need a curve. Other than that, wonderful product.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I couldn't quite believe the product description the first time I read it in the Gardener's Supply catalogue. I had never encountered an "easy-to-install" edging product, but not only was this easy to install, the final product looks great! If you're "on-the-edge" about this product, go for it! You'll be glad you did.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the pound-in edging to corral a running grass. We'll see if it does the job. I have high expectations for other runners in my garden.
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
Love It. Easy, Fast, adds definition to landscape
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I purchased this to provide a border around my bird-feeding area. I mulch below the feeders and the wild turkeys constantly strew the mulch out onto the lawn. My husband and I placed the edging in all of 20 minutes (the rubber mallett is AWESOME!) and instantly the area was neat and clean. It has been about a month and STILL no mess out on the lawn! It looks so professional! Love this edging!

Comments about Pound-In Edging:
The sections tend to go crooked when they are pounded in. The stuff smells very strongly of soap-a kind of sweet chemical smell. I had to take it out of the box and let it set in the sun for about 3 weeks. I can smell the soapy smell from 20 feet away! I am an organic gardener and so I wonder what is in this plastic to make it smell like soap this way? I feel this product is way over priced for what it does. I can purcase as 1" X 4" and pound it in with a stake and do just as wel....
Comments about Pound-In Edging:
I used the edging on several of my flower beds to insure the mulch didn't spill into the grass when it rained and to also keep grass from growing into the beds.
