This covers a nice wide area allowing me to mow easily around my dwarf fruit trees. It is one of the only ones I have found that can cover sucha large area. It is not however as thick as the rubber mulch rings and does not have any landscape fabric backing. I'm not sure how long it will last.

I used these around my new trees to keep the weeds (and the lawn mower) away. The small trees are difficult to see from the riding lawn mower and this product also helps them be more visible among the grass. I used staples to hold them in place on a slope.

This product is only effective for a very small tree. I ended up cutting away most of the circle to get it around the tree, not much left for effective weed control. This is the first time I have purchased something from you that i thought was a poor design.

Please make it clear for others that this is really for very small trees only...or better yet redesign it. I may bite the bullet and return the 2 I didn't use b/c it is just such a waste of material.

The best things about these rings is they are large enough to keep my husband and his mower away from the base of my Witch Hazel and Chinese Umbrella Tree. We had lost several small lower branches due to run ins. Now that is completely avoided.

I was not pleased with the redish color. It appeared more brown in the catelogue and on line. Previously we had ordered the other one you sell and preferred the color, but it was a good deal more expensive, so we decided to try this one. We covered it with mulch so we don't see it.

As mulch under new shrubs, the product is simple to apply and takes no care as a weed barrier. I think, for landscaping cosmetics, I will cover the mats with wood mulch in the spring. I especially like the neat edge between lawn and mulch.

I was very disappointed with this product. For[$]each I thought they would be heavier in order to stay in place on their own. The material is practically impossible to cut to size. Not very user friendly.

These need to be used with the stakes. Unlike the heavy rubber ones we purchased, these tend to stick up with the slightest bit of uneven ground. The lawn mower does a good job shredding them without stakes. They look less durable than the rubber but only time will tell. They are economical.

They look good around the trees. I did use landscape pins,which held them down, but one ring got caught in the mower blade when I ran partially over it (which the advert for rings says is okay to do), and got half-shredded. It's okay; I'll put some mulch over the ring, and it will still help keep weeds away, but it was kind of unpleasant to get my mower caught in cocoa fiber!

I planted 6 fruit trees over the past year and didn't want to risk scarring the trees trunk with the lawn mower. I purchased the 36" rings even though the trees are small but figured the trees can "grow" into them. Water flows directly through the rings and does not pool. I've already been complimented on how good they look, plus not a single weed has come through.

I used it around two new trees but found it difficult to cut the sod out around the area where the tree rings were to be placed. It looks unnatural and is no better than mulch would have been and mulch would have been more natural looking.

We learned the hard way, YOU MUST STAKE THESE MATS DOWN. We cut the first one up a bit. I now have several stakes in-place. We don't think is looks natural enough and have added some loose mulch to the top. I recommend you order the smaller diameter unless you know for certain 36" is what you need. This is a LARGE mat.

I used this under a large ornamental Japanese Maple located on a hill side where mulch slipped down hill. I had previously used a smaller recycled rubber mulch mat but I could not find that in 48 inch size. The coco mat is new, and so I do not know how long it will last (the rubber one was fine after 4 years but too small) but it looks nice and covers up bare dirt.

I was pleased with the product. It was easy to place and secure with earth staples. Although the color was more reddish than I cared for I used it mainly as a weed retardant and simply placed black cedar mulch over it to match the rest of my plantings.

My dogs love to camp out under a large tree in my front yard. By putting in the the Coco Fiber Tree Ring they can spend all day in there favorite spot without getting all the mulch bedding in there coats. Looks great and stays neat

I used to have a weed barrier with wood chips, but the birds keep digging in it foe bugs. That turned out messy. I then tried rubber tree ring, they did not work very well. Then I saw you magazine with the coco mats. I really wish I would have tried them first. A great product.

I really like the coco-mats for use around the numerous trees we have. It also gives a look of a manicured edge. However, I find I have to buy new ones each year and I rotate the 1 year old ones to the trees in the back of the property. They do break down. Cost is a factor in the future as these are purchased with discretionary $$$'s.

These tree rings are easy to put around the tree, and they stay flat without the staples. That's saying something with the Oklahoma winds! Mine lasted 2 full years, and I just replaced them because they were starting to break down. I still think they are a good product because we never took them up to mow.... just mowed right over them. A little expensive, but a good product.

I would have returned this product had it not been such a big item. Buy wisely in case you are not satisfied. This product is too "red" to blend in with any yard. Photo appeared brown and natural..feels like "rubber" and is "reddish".

We have some indoor trees and large plants. These work fantastic in stopping our Golden Retrievers from diggin up our Norfolk Pines! Prior to using them gently over the dirt we had dogs digging and eating the dirt. No longer a problem. Very easy to manage. Safe for dogs and plants. Would probably work good to deter cats too.
They work well in our garden and make mowing easier around them.

One tore while we were removing it from the package. The color faded completely in two weeks. They do not suppress the weeds at all. We put mulch around our plants at the same time we put the tree rings in, the mulch still looks like new. The tree rings look horrible. When we had rain for just a few days, they began to smell too.

I have many small trees that need care; better than the mulch I used to use; they do retain water and sometimes are slow to drain the water into the soil; weeds do grow through, I pull them out, might have to lift the ring to get the weed; great when used with pound in edging; trees are protected; does it help keep the water in the soil - decrease evaporation????; center holes are too big for my small trees allowing for weed growth; I'm not really just getting started in gardening but I don't know if I'm an avid gardner - need more categories

I removed two inches of soil around my trees and placed the mat over the area. I anchored the mat with ground staples to keep it in place. In just a couple of months, the mat had weeds growing through it! I was very disappointed.

I bought these as a gift for my daughter, having used them before myself to keep weeds from around my roses. They provide a weed free zone and a protected mowing edge around her newly planted trees. As the trees get bigger these rings won't strangle them. Water and liquid fertilizer pass through the rings to the tree roots. My only complaint is that they don't last forever!
