I bought a roll last year to try out. It did its work and it still looks as good as when I put it down. I walk on it every day. It held up not just to me but to our extreme weather. We use this in our flower and garden beds and other places we want a good surface to walk on instead of sand and weeds. We have used this for years. This is our second purchase and we just needed more, we are not replacing the old. It stands up to the Florida sun and the squirrels and deer can't dig through it. We have a backyard that is an absolute nightmare. The good thing is that it is so fertile that everything grows there - unfortunately it is at this moment a grassland that we want to turn into a yard and veggie garden. Last year I bought 300' of true greenhouse quality weed barrier. It was reasonable in cost and is holding up very well. It did not tear when trying to use the landscape staples. But this year I only needed 50' more to finish off the paths in my garden and thought I would stay a loyal customer and buy what you were offering. It is in no way as strong as what I bought last year. And price per foot is actually more than if I would have gone back and bought more where I got it last year. It has not been long enough to see if it lasts as long as the product description states but my guess is that it will not. It is already tearing around the staples and where we are walking the most.

This product has made vegetable gardening a pleasure, instead of a summer-long battle against weeds. Store-bought weed-block mats, even when labeled "commercial," "heavy-duty" or "lasts for 20 years," aren't in the same category when it comes to effectiveness and durability.

You can use it to keep walkways between your rows of vegetables clear since it doesn't tear whether you walk on it or run a wheelbarrow across it, or you can make your life even easier by planting your tomato plants through a slit cut in it. I have found that using an awl or similar tool to pre-punch holes through the material for stakes or other plant supports works best since the material is so tough it is otherwise hard to puncture it to set up the supports.

It is "eco-friendly" since it has eliminated any need for weed killers in my vegetable garden!

I used this matting between my vegetable garden rows. This matting has proved to be far supior than any matting I have purchased and used in the past 10 years or so. I do roll each mat up and put it away for the winter. I have just replaced the rose garden with your matting, however I will not be taking those mats up each fall. It will be intersting to see how well they will fare over the years.

I bought a few of these last year to use between the rows in my garden. My garden is only 2 yrs. old, so I am still trying to get the weeds under control. These mats helped IMMENSELY! So much that I ordered several more this season to complete my garden. Now, at least I don't have to worry about weeds between rows, which lets me focus on keeping the areas around my plants free of weeds. I used the earth stakes to tack them down and they are easy to walk on, roll the wheelbarrow on, etc. The mats from last year still look new! We live in a CCRC that has vegatible garden spaces. The space we got this year was not used last year and was covered with crabgrass. We are not allowed to use raised beds, so we have used the Pro Weed Mat to mark off the squares and as walk ways. Where the mat is there are no weeds. Everybody tells us how nice our space looks.

This product has performed for me as described in the catalog. I drive on it, walk and move wheelbarrows over it, drag things over it all with and without mulch on it and have not had it tear yet. It will hold up without any mulch on it just as pictured in the catalog. The ends do ravel very easily which can make it messy to put down. If raveling is an issue, fold the ends under. 6 ft wide rolls would be useful.

For two years,I've had great success using this under mulch or stone on my garden paths. I also use it to suppress vigorous weeds between plants in perennial beds. A wider version would be nice and the cut ends do unravel a bit, but it's still the best I have found.

This worked well in between the rows in my garden. It kept the weeds down and gave me something to sit on while harvesting. I was also able to pull it up at the end of the season, fold it and store it for use again next year. Don't forget to buy earth staples to go with it. The easy out earth staples that I bought from Gardener's (I also used the earth disks) worked well because they did not rust and I will be able to use them again next year. The earth staples I bought from the local hardware store were trash after one season.

The "regualr" stuff doesn't come close. This stuff is so much sturdier. It's great. The only thing to watch out for -- you can get some weeds growing On Top of the weed mat, which defeats the purpose. But keep it free of dirt and that's not a problem.

I puchased this product several times this year for weed control in rows of my garden. It stood up very well to traffic and weed control. The last shipment I reciever had many areas that were not sewed on the side and were unraveled. The begining and the end of the 50' should be either sewed like the sides or sealed in some manner.

It performs as described in the catalog, is extremely durable, except that I've found that it ravels very easily and produces all these long flat black strings. Haven't found a way to keep that from happening if it isn't covered immediately. I wish Gardener's Supply had it in wider widths. Keep in mind that for use on paths used by disabled or mobility challenged folks it should be 5 ft wide or at a minimum 4 ft. I have to buy the wider version from Grower's Supply. They have it up to 6 feet wide.

I need a "buffer" between the flower beds and the weeds that anchor the bank of the brook. For some years I used (and replaced) heavy black plastic. Then I tried this weed mat. I worried because I'd heard that matting needs to be lifted every year before winter, but I've left mine down and it has lasted well, perhaps because it's not a path and gets limited foot traffic. It's certainly sturdier and easier to put down than black plastic! The 3' width is perfect for my needs and long Earth staples keep it in place. And the cost is very reasonable given the results.

If you cut the weed mat lengthwise, the edges will fray and produce a continuous supply of plastic threads. Crosscuts don't produce as much of a problem. Otherwise works as advertised.

I have been buying this product for years. Why? I decided a while ago that if I was going to be able to "handle" my veggie garden I was going to need some help. These mats are made of the same material as greenhouse flooring--and not the cheap weed stoping mats you find at the hardware store. I have had such great luck with these mats, that I now have two veggie gardens. I also have blueberries and strawberries, and raspberries in antoher location. I use them for all of those as well. And of course, those ones stay out all year round. They say they last 10 years and I know I bought my first ones when my son was an infant and he just turned 9, and they still are holding up very well. That's why I just bought more for my next project. I intend to use one of the mats up against my house and top it with small rocks before I put back my flower bed. I fall alot because I trip over things. This path, unlike my last, does not tear, weeds don't grow thru it and I can push my carts over it. I looked everywhere and talked to the weed cloth guy at du pont and he said they make nothing woven like this is and to get it. That sdays a lot when a competitor recommends something. I feel very safe walking in my yard and can get to the parts of it I need to get to and am more independent. I'm almost 75, have neuropathy in my feet (which makes me trip and fall) and have torn out the front lawn and planted shrubs and flowers. I've only had it a short time so I gues I'll have to wait and see ow it holds up. You can be sure I'll be yelling if it fails in any way!

I used this to make permanent paths in my vegetable garden. It really saves me from coming in with mud caked on my shoes.

It also seems to last, although an edge trimmer will shred and fray the woven construction. Do not accidently run over this with your tractor. It will bind up in the spinning blades. I recommend putting rocks along the edges at fairly close intervals, of cover with mulch to prevent is from lifting in the wind.

I used this product to make a walking row between my flower garden and deck. It is very sturdy as I walk on it all of the time and sometimes drag heavy bags and pots on it. I really like this weed mat. It is very sturdy and strong, has much more substance than the rolls of mats you get from the store. When you cut it, it does tend to fray, just be sure to fold under the edges before tacking in the ground. It's been in place several weeks, not a weed in sight. This mat will last for years as long you take it off in the fall clean it off & store it for the next season. The only problem is that it will fray so if you cut it lengthwise be aware of that and tuck it under the matting used for the planting rows. I've had mine for 5-6 years. I have a large garden by most standards - about 1/3 of an acre. This reduces the # of times the garden has to be rototilled. I am also handicapped and have to sit on the ground to pull weeds. So, while costly, the savings are huge in terms of the amount of time that I have to spend pulling weeds. Also, you can readily walk on the mats & not be as apt to slip & fall as with other mulch products. They are simply great. Well worth the cost.

I have a very large yard and above ground vegetable garden. I have tried everything to keep the weeds and gophers in check and until I tried this product NOTHING ever worked. Not only does the Pro Weed Mat keep weeds from growing between my vegetable rows, it makes it easier to get into the garden after it rains. No more boots mired in mud. I don't know whether this is related or not but i have noticed that my peas and other vegetables are less buggy. and it seems to discourage rabbits too.

I use this between my vegetable garden plots and it seems to be indestructible. I wheel stuff over it, leave my tools on it, and walk on it. Put it down last year and it still looks totally new this year, not a spot of wear. Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with this product. The only thing bad I can say is that I wish there were a narrower size available. Our vegetable garden is not too large and our rows are generally 12" to 18" apart, so we had to cut the mat down. The cut edges really fray and get tangled in things as you work the planted rows. But, overall, using this mat has saved me hours of weeding time!

I continue to use newspapers, brown cardboard, straw, alfalfa hay, etc. but in places where you want a semi-permanent walkway in a vegetable bed, this seems to be a great product. I am, however, reserving judgment until we see how it holds up this winter, since I'm going to leave it in place.

For someone like me who has arthritis in the spine, I put this mat down in between the rows in my garden the spring of this year and I haven't had to weed it yet. It takes the work out of weeding, which helps me greatly.

I use this in the garden between rows to keep weeds down. It is better than plastic because the water goes through it. I also cut holes in it to use around plants in a raised bed, like cabbage, to keep weeds down and moisture in. I works great and last for many years. With the easy-out earth staples, it makes it easy to pick up and put back down every tilling or planting.

This is the best weed barrier ever! At first I was skeptical that this weed barrier would be different, but I am a believer now! I use it to quell weeds, to kill grass in new planting areas and to suppress weeds under a swing. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I achieved my goal. I love this product!

I use these mats around my raised vegetable beds to control weeds and keep my feet dry. Because of the tight weave, it can be a little tricky to get in the earth staples to hold it down. Also when cutting it to fit, the cut end frays and unravels, but otherwise, I really like this product.

I used this weed mat to line the permanent paths in my vegetable garden. I had an infestation of dandelions, crabgrass and thistle and this stuff stopped the regrowth in it tracks. Highly effective, albeit a bit expensive, especially if your garden is large.

Used for walkways between 25 ft raised beds. Undamaged after 3 seasons. Provides clean and sure-footed access. I toss weeds on top and it's easy to rake them to one end for loading in compost pile. Then a quick sweep, and the garden really looks professional.

Due to my arthiritis everything I grow is in containers. The area where I grow my veggies had become covered in bermuda grass and weeds. I have a very difficult time finding someone to mow or use a weedeater so this was fast becoming an impossible situation. My scooter was not able to navigate the tall vegatation. After putting down the Pro Weed Mat 2 years ago the problem was solved. My scooter navigates over it easily and the grass and weeds are gone. It did so well I put down more Pro Weed Mat and expanded my veggies and herbs this year. Some bermuda grass did grow through but it was very easy to pull up.

I am very pleased with it. The ends however are annoying. I tried using the earth staples but they did not work very well. I had to use a brick to hold it down. I tried a rock and that did not work. Once it got very windy the matter started moving around. It's been great I have seen very few weeds.

On occasion trimming is necessary and the unraveling is a mess. Perhaps a solution could be proposed, such as taping the strip to be trimmed and cutting through the tape. Would that reduce the unraveling? It is very effective as a weed barrier.

Put this anywhere you want to keep weeds from growning. Walk on it as much as you want. It is tough stuff and stays put with garden staples.
