Used fencing on side of deck for decoration and to provide a bit more privacy. It looks nice but I was expecting the vertical sticks to be closer together without so much see-through. But overall I am pleased with the product.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I bought this screen to offer my neighbor some privacy after we removed a large overgrown shrub on the property line. The willow fence was very poorly made: the wire binding was loosely done, especially on the ends[...] Installation was difficult (faux bamboo poles also purchased from GS recommended for the project do not work AT ALL and were abandoned for something from the local garden shop) and once set up, the screen was basically transparent. There is NO WAY the photo of this item on the webpage displays the opacity of one screen! Two of these screens back to back might be more concealing; I am definitely NOT going to but another one to find out [...]. I would send it back but it was such a pain to install I don't want to go to the trouble. Definitely NOT worth the money.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

We bought 3 units of this to set up alongside a span of existing split rail & wire mesh fence between ourselves and neighbors to enhance privacy. Installation was a snap using those plastic cinch ties at 18" intervals connecting the willow screen with the wire mesh. The willow fencing provided a relatively inexpensive screen that met our needs perfectly, but it needs support. The length can easily be cut down to fit a specific location. Note: some light comes through the chinks between branches, so it doesn't completely block the view. I'm still looking for shorter version of this wattle fencing for my herb bed because it is attractive.

I bought this fence to keep two bassit hounds out of my herb garden, seems to be working well enough, considering they dont jump very high,if it were any other dog it would be a problem, as I cut fence in half to have the length to go around my garden,so it is now only 2.5ft. high

I use this product to screen the view of my neighbor's unattractive yards in the area where my gazebo is located. It blends in perfectly with this wooded area, and has a natural, organic feel. Time spent in my gazebo is a lot more pleasant now! Although part of it was damaged this winter by a large falling tree limb, it was easy to replace that section.

I put the fence up six years ago to hide an ugly chain link fence. It is still there, and I am adding another section to hide a less than picturesque collection of garden tools and pots, accessories etc.

Some of the wires have disintegrated but I replaced then with black cord. This is my only criticism of the fencing.

This was initially put up to hide a chain link fence and define a Japanese motif garden space. It did it's job! After three years in harsh, Midwestern weather, it finally decided to give up. This was not unexpected, as any natural product will eventually decompose. However, I do plan to replace it. I have located this same product at a nearby garden center for twice the price, and I have to get it to my home by myself! Gardener's Supply ships it to my house, an added value for me. I would recommend this for its value, beauty, and versatility, in or outside!

I ordered this fence to put around our a/c unit and to hide the ugly utility meters on the back of our house. It has faded a little bit but I expected that and it appears that you can stain it if you want. It is very sturdy and was easy to put up. It looks GREAT! We are very pleased with this product and I am going to order more to go around our patio as privacy screening.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I bought this fence to cover some ugly standard fencing in my small yard. It is much sturdier than the cheap reed fencing found at chain stores. It was so easy to install--using plastic ties-- and looks lovely. The only problem is--it has an unpleasant smell. When I first opened the package, the smell was terrible. I called this store, and everyone was helpful, assuring me that I could return it if it still smelled after a month. So I installed it, and the smell did lessen--but it is still there. I am not returning it, because I like it so much, and the smell only bothers me when I stick my face next to it. I googled willow and found that willow does have an "astringent" smell, so I guess it is natural.

This fencing is very well constructed. It will last for years! I use it to camoflage a storage area, but it would be equally useful as a privacy screen or as a barrier against animals because it is so stong! Much heftier and well built than I was epecting! Picture in catalog doesn't do it justice! I would recommend it to my garden clients!

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

Used to cover a rusty chain link fence - bought Gardener's waxed string to tie it on (hint - don't leave the spool of string in full sun... but if you do, a quick trip to the refrigerator takes care of it). Setup goes faster with 2 people but you can do it solo (if you are 5' 9" or more); it took twice as long to put it up by myself vs. with 2 people. Tie strings or wire every 12" or so for a few feet down the fence line, along the top of the chain link and another row of ties about half-way up from the ground. The woven wires holding the twigs together can be stretched a bit, once you have one end tied onto the fence. If you're tall enough, you can reach over the top to feed the ends of the middle ties through adjacent twigs and tie off, then thread the top ties below the upper wire of the fencing and tie off. Move down, tug the roll of fencing tight from the bottom and the top, repeat as needed. Looks great! It doesn't cover the spikes at the top of the chain link, but we don't find those obtrusive - they get sort of lost in the strong vertical pattern of the twigs. It replaces a grass fence from another company - that one fell apart last winter after only 2 years in action, a true waste of money. This willow fence is much heavier duty and better quality. We had about 65 feet to cover and ordered 5 bundles; could have been the stretching but they ran to the advertised length per roll.

I used this product to fence my small backyard-patio and to screen a utility area at one end of the yard. It is easy to work with and adds natural beauty to a landscaped environment. I previously used this fencing in another yard. It was installed 7 years ago and is still standing. As it ages the bark becomes shaggy and creates more of a screen while looking more natural with age.

After 13 years of not going outside, my neighbors behind me decided to completely hack down the wonderful "green screen" that separated our yards. My poor perennial border now had their house as a backdrop. I ordered the willow screen the next day and it looks wonderful! Note that you can see through this screen somewhat, but it creates a great visual barrier and is very well constructed.

After our neighbor cut all their landscaping down to the fence wires, we had an unsightly view right into their yard and lost our privacy near our house. It is very sturdy and well made. It solved the problem beautifully.

I used the fence to screen my compost tumbler and work area for composting. Much nicer to look at the lovely screen than the work area! But you really need two people to set it up.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I have a chain link fence around my yard. However after 30 years the shrubs hide it. But then bushes die and changes are made the willow fence is great for privacy while the new shrubs grow and having the chain link fence adds to the sturdiness of this product. I love the natural look. However if I did not have the chain link fence, I don't know if you would have trouble with it staying verticle, especially during a midwestern winter.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I bought the Willow Fencing for privacy and to hide the neighbor's piles of junk, but you can see right through it. It does look nicer than my green turkey wire fence and from an angle, it does block the offensive. I would buy it again, in fact, I need one more section.

It was really easy to hang with electrical ties and no help.

It has only been up since late May, so I don't know how it will weather a New England winter yet.

In my roof garden, I use the fence to obstruct the view of the building's air-conditioning equipment. It doesn't completely block the view, but it brings the viewer's attention into the garden.

We bought the fence to screen off next door. The fence is a little more see-through than you would think from the catalog, but still gives a feeling of privacy and reduces the view to background. Comments about Willow Fencing:

This is my third willow fencing purchased over the internet. I have purchased from three different internet vendors. Gardeners Supplies has the best product. The willow is coated with a sealer and tied with what appears to be stainless steel wire. It is the best initial quality of the three purchases. The last two fences last about 6 years. I would expect that this will last ten or more. A far better and more environmental alternative to wood and far less expensive than Bamboo. It is really easy to recycle. When it is time to take down, the willow breaks down in little pieces when stepped on and spread in the mulch or composted. The wiring is recycled through our recycler.

Great environmentally product. Far easier to recycle than bamboo.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

Used to provide some privacy screening for an outdoor solar shower AND serve as a wind brake for the adjacent garden beds, protecting them from the constant prairie wind. It weathers to a beautiful silvery-gray and quickly becomes part of the natural landscape...especially when covered with morning glories or sweat peas!

Be sure to avoid ground contact, or it will rot along the bottom edge...so it's not good for keeping animals out all by itself, unless you pair it with chicken wire.

A very attractive addition to my small back yard, nice backdrop to a border garden. More see-through than it looks in the catalog; I wanted a temporary privacy fence but I can see right through it with little loss of detail. Caution about lengths: they are marked and advertised 13' but in fact are anywhere between 10' and 12' (I bought five of them and they are all different lengths). I wouldn't do it again but it's ok until I can get real privacy fencing.

We had hoped that this willow fencing would function as an attractive privacy screen between 2 yards. It offers no more privacy than sheer curtains - everything on each side of the fence can be clearly viewed from all angles. It does do a nice job of softening the look of the chain link fence which divides the 2 properties.

This product was used to enclose garden sprinkler stands made of PVC and metal. The sprinkler stands virtually disappeared from the garden and also made a good trellis for vines to further disguise them.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I didn't know what to expect and am impressed by the quality of the product, from the "twigs" used to the aluminum wiring keeping it together. The fence doesn't fully obscure the background, and I'm putting it in a different place than intended because of that; however, it does give privacy and a nice "natural" design touch.
This is a great "quick fence" suitable for many uses. Very easy to install (a couple of screws in a post or wall, and it's up).
I originally bought it to hide an oil tank, which didn't really work (the tank still showed too much for my liking), so now I'm hiding my nieghbor's vinyl shed wall, where it improves the view tremendously.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I love my willow fencing. I put it up four years ago and, if a gypsy moth damaged tree had not fallen on it, I wouldn't be replacing it. It provides a natural, organic & attractive backdrop for my climbing roses, virginia creeper and clematis, as well as my garden pond. I live in Southern New Jersey where the weather is very hot & humid in summer and I have lots of shade; the fence has held up to all sorts of weather, but I think 5 years might be the max of it's useful life in this climate. I'm going to leave it up and cover it with replacement willow fencing.

How does this hold up over time?

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

I'd REALLY REALLY like to know how this holds up in the weather, over time. I live in Michigan and have been considering purchasing this, but I'd need to get 3-4 lengths of it to cover the west side of my chainlink fenced backyard. The neighbor on that side of us has a very unattractive yard (weeds, overgrown, etc.), plus a new renter just moved in, so altho he may take care of the yard himself now, he also has 2 dogs. And when my dogs are outside at the same time as his, they just run up and down the fenceline wanting to play thru the fence. So I wanted to put this up to also screen the neighbor dogs from mine so my plants don't get damaged (I have butterfly bushes and clematis over there). I don't really want the hassle of taking it down and putting it back up every fall/spring, so I'm wondering how long it would hold up being exposed to the Michigan seasons year-round.

Anyone who has purchased this and can attest to its durability - please comment on this!! Thanks!

We used the willow screening to enclose an area off of one side of our deck for our dog, Mac. It looks very attractive, natural and was simple to attach to the metal posts we already had. We used those heavy duty plastic "pull through, click tight" things to attach the willow to the posts.

The Willow Fencing was well packaged upon arrival and easy to install on our unattractive existing wire fence. We needed a product that would provide our backyard and garden area with a greater sense of privacy and a heightened ambience. Well, say-no-more, Gardeners Supply came to our rescue with this outstanding product. We have had many friends and neighbors who have commented on how attractive our new fence is and have considered purchasing this fencing for themselves. In closing, this product is well-made, easy to install and very attractive in our English cottage garden.

Our local zoning does not allow us to have 5' high fences. However, our zoning administrator could find no fault with the willow fencing we use to keep our two dogs from wandering into the neighbors yard. The fence is attractive and yet does not block the view of the local scenery.

It is a nice backdrop to a flower bed, hiding my wood pile at a distance. Up close you can see thru it, it's only drawback. 1 More length would have been enough to hide a large propane tank too, but you can only buy it in even amounts.

    Comments about Willow Fencing:

My daylilies are planted along a full sun location against my vinyl fence. We used these GORGEOUS willow fences to deflect heat and glare from the vinyl to the daylilies. Now my daylilies don't fry in full sun. We simply wired the fence against the vinyl and they've stayed in place for over a year. We've had many guests comment about whether we put up the willow for "looks" or "atmosphere" or if there was a practical function for doing so. I was just hoping to help the plants, but it's added a natural and dressed quality to the pavilion where the daylilies are planted. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
