Of the 9 dragonflies, 2 did not have any thread so there was no way to screw them onto the shaft containing the LED. The two only sit loose on the LED shaft. Please send two replacements that are properly threaded.

Easy to install and very cute. The kids love it.

The product photo implies that the product is colored, which it is not, so during the day the dragonflies are almost invisible which was a disappointment for the look I was going for in this particular area of the garden.

Product was great - used it to provide some "punch" to my lillies and lavender bushes. My neighbors and family love them. However, we live near a lake and it becomes quite windy. High wind causes the stems to bend, it was windy enough for me to find at-least two broken stems at the base.

Set it up around a bamboo plant set in a planter. Found a nice sunny spot and its working outside right now! Dragonfly's changed color together at the start but changed to a little more random patterns later on. The first set I bought was 2 years ago. Then one bulb burnt out [...] So I bought another set because they REALLY look good at night in my garden. The new set that I bought last year still works, but another bulb from the first set burnt out. I can't even get the bulb out. So I spray painted the 2 dragonflies that don't work vivid colors and I cut the wires off and I just use the 2 spray painted ones as garden decorations.

We had a dinner party and everyone wanted to know where we got them. You could see them from our window and everytime you looked, they were a different color. Easy to install. Long lasting. Delightful!

I enjoy watching them at night from my window as they change colors. My neighbors can see them and like them as well. I liked the first one so well I bought a second set. Caution when trimming and pruning nearby plants the wires get easily severed especially if you are not the one doing the trimming.

The connection of the wire in the stem breaks very easily. Two of the three didn't last very long but the one has been working all summer. I love seeing them change color and if they weren't so delicate they would be great.

Love these, but again the only complaint that I have is that the lights don't always come on. They are in the sun light all day to charge the battery, but don't always come on. When they do, they are the neatest things. Again I believe the batteries to be old and need to be replaced, however since I just received them, I don't feel I should have to replace the battery already.

I cannot comment because my sister, whom I gave this to as a gift, has not mentioned a single problem with the product or the design or her use of them. She loves them in general and I thought these were perfectly suited to her since she is an avid gardner. She praticularly enjoys rock gardens. These work wonderfully for her in that way.

The reason I have mixed reviews is that I bought two sets and have them in two places. Both get plenty of light and one displays for hours and the other is short lived. I had been thinking of asking the company to replace the rechargable batteries for one. While working both have a beautiful display with the changing colors drawing the eye everytime. They were a birthday gift for my wife and she loves them.

The problem is after having so much trouble with the Solar Globe lights. Which I have ordered a lot of them, for myself and relatives, I bought these at the local hardware store for 4.95. They had dragon flies, birds and butterflies.

The price on these is over inflated! I bought them locally and they cost so much less! This is the first season they are in the garden so I have no comment on longevity but they are gorgeous. I ordered two sets for my daughter for Christmas. Couldn't wait to see them in the spring. 3 of the six dragonflies will light after turning them off for 2 days to charge them fully. # won't ever light. They are in full sun most of the day for charging. We are disappointed.

I live in San Antonio, so I get plenty of sun. These little guys are colorful from sun down and are often still blinking in the am before I go to work. This is my second set. My sister sent me these in the summer of 2009 just after our Mom had passed on. It was out all year through our rough New England winter covered in snow(the dragonflies wouldn't light up). These lights were another item on my recent Christmas (2009) wishlist from Gardener's Supply. Like the alliums, (which I ended up putting in an indoor pot), I didn't want to just put these in the garage til spring. I wondered if they would work in pots we had by a sunny window. Well they certainly did and like the alliums, the dragonfly lights may not make it outdoors either.

Great: enough line to space out the lights, easy assembly, quality seems to be good. Could be better: hieght adjustment, not so many colors.
I used this product around shrubs and fountains. Grouped too close together
they look like an air bombing raid. Differenciate hieght by putting some in planters.

I love the lights. They are so cute and since I have a huge yard that is very dark at night they add great interest. The only draw back is the wire connecting them. It is positioned so that I can't bury them and my dogs have broken the lights by going through them. So, I would recommend them be put in areas that won't be in an accessable place to be tripped on.

The first night the worked beautifully. The second night they didn't work at all, granted the daytime sky had been hazy. After sunny skies on the third and fourth days, the lights came on and went off after only an hour, never to come on again. I'm boxing them up and returning them.

These are a MAJOR disappointment because they were beautiful on the one day that they really worked and I had been looking forward for a long time to owning them ) - ; Additionally, they are expensive.

Very, very poor design. I have had color-changing solar lights with their original batteries for 3 years, and they still work.

I put these in my flowerbed,but I was quite disturbed to see that they each had a cord that had to be connected to the solar panel which was separate. In the past I have purchased similar solar powered lights of various shapes, but they all were one unit. I found these cords annoying to sting and unsightly. While pulling weeds in the flowerbed, of course, I got the cords tangled up in the weeds and had to reconnect everything. I bought a couple of these as gifts for fellow gardening friends and they were not pleased at this design at all.

We had to try several times before it started working. I put them in the garden, but every time water got on the solar panel, it didn't work for 2 days. Even if the leads (attached to the bottom of the stakes holding the dragonflies) got wet or too much soil on them, it would prevent them from glowing. So I took them out of my flower bed and put them into something drier.

This shouldn't happen to something for outdoors -- they are too sensitive for the slightest bit of moisture. But I love to see them glow when they do work -- I gave my mother and my daughter a set of them -- I felt bad that they will have the same troubles I did but the glowing effect is great when they work!

Absolutely love these whimsical dragon flies. I had to buy 2 sets since I accidentally threw away the dragon flies on the first group, but the lights still glow and really is kinda neat and different. Absolutely love the solar aspect and it functions great.

I have these in the backyard and I'm ordering another set for the front. They are wonderful, I love the changing colors and when the battery is fully charged (sunny days) they stay on all night. They are beautiful at dawn.
Each one individually plugs in to the solar energy source, so the 3 lines across the ground is the only challenge.

We bought two sets, put them around the pool & gardens.It's easy to set them around with 6 of them.

This is a terrific product that is also a good value.

It is intended for decorative purposes, not illumination, so I didn't downgrade it for its low wattage--it's plenty bright enough and lasts most of the night after a sunny day and for several hours even after a cloudy day.

The only suggestion I would make is to have a version with a built-in solar panel so that wires and parts are kept to a minimum. For those with limited sun exposure, of course, this would not be helpful but for those of us placing the units in a sunny area it would be a benefit.

I have 2 sets of these. They are very lovely HOWEVER the first set had a bad battery and the 2nd set had a bad wire connection. Luckily my husband is an electrician and he fixed the wire for me, but it would be annoying to have to send it back for a replacement. So although I think these lights are beautiful I also think the quality isn't quite there.

However the single power source appears to not have enough "umphh" to drive the lights at normal brightness all night from normal daytime sunshine.

Ours get dimmer and dimmer...until we have to turn them off and let the power source charge for 2 days of sunshine before turning them on again.

I enjoy the colorful display just outside on my patio. The colors are bright and vivid. And, they seem to last all night! I wish that they came in a variety of sizes and that the cords were a little bit longer so I could spread them out more.

We have ours in our garden where they can be seen at night while sitting on the deck or from our kitchen area. Only problem is they don't work on totally cloudy days, but we knew this before purchasing.

I have had these pretty dragonfly's for only 2 weeks and they have stopped lighting up at night already. I have had other lights that are solar lights and have lasted a couple of years and once they go, you might as well throw them out because replacing the battery does not work. So, yes they are in my flower bed but have no lights at night and this does not make me very happy.

These solar lights are an added attraction to the garden - but - I feel if they changed colors slower it would be more appealing. Also if they just twinkled in a white light they would be attractive.

Even in cloudy Seattle, the solar batteries charged up and the Dragonflies light my rather large lavender bed each night. I like the way the colors change in a flowing way, rather than some annoying "blink" effect, and the fact that each one seems independent of the other. Long cords allow wonderful choice in placement. Love it!
