Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

We live in a wooded area where no place gets all day sun. I have cheap solar path lights from the big box store, and they work for 1-2 hours after dark, then nothing. I wondered if Gardeners Supply lights were better, and tested 2 next to the cheap ones purchased earlier this year. No contest. With the same amount of light, the Gardeners Supply lights burn on into the night. At 5 a.m., it was still glowing. Well made - spikes screw into the mounts so you don't lose them accidentally while moving the lights. To me, the quality and extra function make them worth the price.

We love these lights the glass shade is great you see the true color of the plants and such because it cast a white light versus the yellow or blue you get sometimes through plastic. They are attractive, durable, and hold a charge for the night.
Have added dimension to our yards and showcase our efforts!!
With a removeable stake they are very versital, use them on Shepards Hooks, on Trellis's , on the ground or higher with stake.
    Thanks

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I'm using these along a stone pathway between my house and garage. These lights are pretty bright, and too many of them look like a runway, so I'm only using four, spaced apart. I would like the option of a yellow light rather than bright white, but they do work well and do light the path. They seem sturdy, but I'm hoping the deer don't knock them over!

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I needed these to light my steps; at night it's very difficult to see walking down 3 steps. I love Gardener's Supply and have come to expect high quality in their items. The quality of construction and look of these lights is excellent. However, I am very disappointed with the illumination of these - they are barely lit. However, I realize they do not get a large amount of sun. Had I known this, I would not have purchased.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I set these up on either side of our pathway to illuminate a step that otherwise could be hazardous at night. One worked well, but the other just blinked on/off at night. The working one did cast enough light to indicate the presence of the step, but no more -- not like a spot light. After a week we concluded that the blinker needed more sun, so we moved both lights to the same side of the path. Within a week, the first path light on this side went permanently dark for no apparent reason -- much to my disappointment. The one we moved still works, and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

We purchased two sets of these lights for my husband as a Father's Day gift--he has wanted "exterior illumination" for our front walk for a long time, but most of what we'd seen was downright ugly. Despite concerns based on other reviews, we installed them (easy process) and crossed our fingers that they would light up.

The first 24 hours, we left them switched to OFF, as per another reviewer's suggestion, to power the battery fully before they had to light up. The next night, my son and I turned them on, hoping to welcome my husband home from work with a lit path.

The lights worked perfectly, but not in time for his homecoming. The sensors in them are VERY light sensitive--the bulbs don't light until pretty far past dusk. That's really my only complaint--I'd like them to come on a little earlier in the evening.

The amount of light that is cast is not huge, but it's enough that the four of them illuminate our front walk clearly. They're more of an accent light, but that's all we wanted, so it's not a detriment. If you need safety lighting, these are not the best choice.

We plan to purchase four more for the driveway.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I am using these to light my rather long sidewalk between the parking area and my condo. The design is attractive and the lights are generally solidly made, unlike the rather lightweight versions sold at the big box stores. The light lasts a respectable period of time through the night, given the rainy nature of the Pacific Northwest. If the previous day has been fairly sunny, most or all lights are still shining when I leave for work about 5 a.m., at least in spring. The glass is a lot less likely to discolor due to weather, unlike similar lights that use clear plastic. The battery looks like it will be difficult to replace, however. I tried to get at one to figure that out and could not pry the battery cover off without risking the light bulb, or so it seemed to me. The other drawback is the little plastic insert at the bottom of the light. This insert is easily broken, as I've already discovered, and not repairable. This type of plastic cannot be glued.

Luckily, there is a hole in the bottom of the globe that allows for hard wiringto a low voltage D.C. source. Now all 14 of mysidewalk lamps stay on all night with equal brightness. [@]

Bought two sets of these lights for a short path inside our garden. They look great in the daylight, but even with a reasonable day of sunlight, they last a couple of hours and start to blink and then die. Going to need to replace them with some low voltage lights this Spring. Seems solar isn't quite there yet if it can't light a little bulb for more than a few hours.

I bought my lights to illuminate the walkway in front of my studio in fall, winter. They were easy to unpack, put together and install, not to mention attractive to look at.

The problem is I didn't realize that the angle of the sun would be so low in late fall and winter that they don't get any sun at all. I will have to wait till we get into Spring to give them a chance to work to their full potential. Perhaps the manufacturers and sellers should mention this in their advertising...

I guess the light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long, as this proves. Even when it's had a full, sunny day to charge the light only lasts 3-4 hours before it starts cycling on and off until it finally dies. If I charge the batteries manually they last all night, but that's not why I bought a solar light. This either needs a larger PV collector or one fewer LEDs.

The walkway steps in the front are marked by these lights by day and night. Any comments by friends using the walkway have been positive. At first, I put the lights in the back yard to illuminate a garden. However, the lights seem to need more sun than my old ones did, and if they don't get enough, they blink rather than lighting steadily. Also, I don't like the cold white light. I moved these to a garden path that I can't see from the house, and put my old lights back where I can see them in the garden. (I bought the old lights from Gardener's Supply, maybe last year, maybe earlier.)
However, in favor of these lights, they seem sturdier (plastic stake broke off one of the old ones), and they are physically attractive.

I called, was told I should have turned the off button to OFF for the first 24 hours or so to get the batteries to charge up. Wish I had known that. So I did it, waited a week. Turned back on. Blinking lighthouse again and then dark. They'd be lovely if they worked.

So far, I really like these lights. They are really bright and are a big help by our very dark walkway. It's too soon to say how they'll stand up to Minnesota weather and I haven't had to change a light bulb so I can't speak to those things.

We installed 6 of these lamps along our front walk. We're very happy with the appearance and light quality, and they stay lit for most of the night. Overall a great product. Installation is super easy. Our only critique is that they will tip easily if bumped by a car door, person's leg, dog, etc. Not a huge problem, just keep in mind when planning placement.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I am a garden designer and I purchased the solar path lights for my daughter and her husband to enhance the landscaping we had done in their yard. Their comment to me was "These lights are much more attractive than any we've seen in the big chain stores. We love them!"
One of the lights stopped working after a day and my daughter didn't contact Gardner's Supply Co. about it until a few weeks later. She was so impressed that she heard back from them the same day. They took immediate action to replace the faulty light. Way to keep your customers satisfied, Gardner's Supply Co!

Absolutely love these lamps. They are sturdy and attractive--much better quality than similar products I have seen. The glass lamps are very stylish and clear and the light looks great. Finish is nice too. Purchased these on sale and got better quality lamps for less money than the cheap stuff in the discount stores--hurray! If these weather well, we'll be getting more next season.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

Of all the lights I looked at from various sources, this seemed to be the most well built and to have the most positive reviews. I like things that are well made and will last for a while. The stainless steel and beveled glass are good in this respect, though the post could be a bit thicker or heftier. The lights work wonderfully, though they charge best with lots of direct sunlight - if you get several long rainy days, the charge lasts shorter and shorter periods of time each night. I haven't had these lights long enough to judge how well they age. One word of warning though: don't wait too long to buy all the lights you want, since changes in technology may mean that you get different color or brightness in the lights (potentially a problem if you want them all to match).

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

I have four of these lights along the pathway leading to my garden. The path is in a partial shaded area so I was concerned that this would be an issue for a solar product. However, these lights are bright and last throughout the night. I also really like the general look and the pewter color of the light. The only caveat is I have only had them for a couple of months so I can not speak to their longevity.

I am using this product along the walkway to my front door. They add safety for foot traffic in the dark and a decorative nighttime light design at the front of the house. The copper color I chose has a high quality look, and they give enough light to add safety but not overpower the area at night. They have plenty of good power, and burn well all night.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

We like the bluish cast of the light (had it before), makes it look less like an airport runway. Although these are along the path leading up to our front porch (where we have bright lights), even turning on those lights does not cause these to dim, which happens with many solars. Summers they run 10 hrs. at night--great.

I am very happy with them. No problems what-so-ever.

I've tried so many versions of solar-powered lights. These are without a doubt the best ever. The area I placed them in just gets partial sunlight, but after charging them a full day in the sun, they still shine bright every night!

I have had to assemble products over the years and am delighted that these lights were ready to go into the ground and right to work lighting my path. They look attractive and provide suficient light to see the steps clearly at night. And they will not add to my electric bill!!!!!

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

Ligts are used in backyard landscaping. Although the finish on the outside is nice it shows ever water spot from rain and sprinklers. Not as much light output compared to other solar lights I have purchased in the past.

These outline a new brick path from the street to the front door, next to my roses (now in full bloom). A lovely, harmonious addition to our front garden design.

Comments about Solar Path Light, Set of 2:

The only thing I would change, if possible, is the color of the light--it casts more of a bluish white light than a warm yellow, but that's just my preference. I am VERY impressed with the quality, heftiness and construction of these lights. I bought 4 of the bronze and will buy a couple more. You do need to be sure initially to flip the switch to "on" inside when you install them! And I guess if I were ever to store them, it's good to know I can save the battery by turning them off.
