I bought this to replace a broken globe. The broken one was part of a solar-powered LED light that would morph into multiple colors. I was able to use the LED light with this globe and it looks wonderful!! I believe it has even more character than the original globe!

Loved this when I took it out of the box I set it up next to our koi pond for some nighttime glow by the pond. I have found that it just doesn't show up at night the way I wanted. If I didn't know where to look for it I wouldn't even see it. It gets full sun everyday and yet no improvement in glow. Its pretty for a daytime yard decoration but doesn't do what I wanted it to.

I placed the globe in full sunlight in my backyard garden, but there's been no glowing at night. But...I do really like the looks of the globe during the day so overall I'm happy with it. Be sure to buy the iron holder/base if you buy the globe, otherwise there's no way to secure it when placed outdoors. I wired the bottom of the globe to the holder for extra security from the wind. So far it's survived a few thunderstorms with no problem.

I put the ball and stand in my garden, in direct sunlight as directed. It looks very nice - it's a nice accent to all of the plants, but it does not glow. I moved it once, thinking that 7 hours of sunlight was not enough - so it now gets 11, but that made no difference.

Altho the gazing ball appears blue in the ad, it is not blue but white. I is not the coloful accent I wanted. The white is neutral and washed out.

Hoped this ball would actually look as the picture showed.....instead it is a very pale white and even tho we have had record sunshine and heat, at night it is impossible to locate......in other words, it is not florescent and certainly has not collected any sunlight for evening glo. Boo hoo!

I placed my ball on top of one of your wicker tee-pee products so it lifts it off the ground and it appears as though it is floating at night- I can see it well this way and it gets maximum exposure to daylight. The globe is amazing inside, too!

Very pretty, during the day.But despite an abundance of sunshine, can't see it at night. Perhaps somewhere very dark, such as way out in the country it would be more visable--but in suburbia, even with all lights inside and out turned off, it cannot be seen.

This globe was exactly what I needed to accent my flower beds! During the day, this pop of white is really lovely. At night, it's soft glow is not only beautiful, it's interesting!

I had my own stand and I had to use double-sided tape to get it to stay put. It doesn't work well, though, and I bring it in on windy days. A weight in the bottom might help! Don't put it in a shady garden. It needs a FULL day of sun to show up at night. When it does it is BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful globe. It's the second I purchased. Why? Because the globes don't anchor well in holders (not weighted). If you get a wind gust, they go airborne . . . and you can guess the rest! I'm done with Globes.

I sent this back. I didn't see any illumination at all. So it was just a glass ball with a little bit of white on the inside of the glass. I might have kept it if the glass or the inside had color, but it was just a plain ball in my garden.

I originally received this globe as a gift for Christmas from my Mom, since my yard has recently undergone quite a transformation in the last year, with new landscaping, lighting and sprinkler install. The item was originally placed in a rock bed, as it was quite attractive there and received a good bit of the evening sun; however, a neighborhood cat saw fit to knock it off its stand, so I recently replaced the globe. It, and a smaller counterpart, now sit in a bermuda grass bed, safe from falls off their stands. It has a lovely glow at night and during the day is an aesthetically pleasing sight, as well, albeit less colourful than its smaller blue counterpart. For those who indicated disappointment in the colour when they opened the box, that is the colour of things that gain luminescence with sunlight and you shouldn't have been surprised. "Glow in the dark" things are often a drab white or cream colour in daylight and both images are pictured in the catalogue and online.

Overall, the product is well suited to its purpose as being a decorator item for a garden or yard. I tend to keep such things in the back yard, as something fragile should not be so readily available to the public for mischeif or theivery. As well, I agree with others in saying it can be quite fragile and breaks easily, although I haven't had any problems with wind blowing it over in the correct stand, and we have recently had 40mph winds gusting.

With regard to rain tolerability, it handles rain well, too...still projecting its luminescence in the evenings, although there does tend to be some condensation build-up on the inside of the globe. This quickly dries out when the rubber stopper on the end is removed and left for a day and has no effect on the luminescence.

Overall, I enjoy this product, although I wish it would remain luminescent longer into the evenings.
