The fountain loses so much water, in normal operation, that it stops flowing in less than an hour. The lid has only four 1/2-in. holes for the water to drain back into the basin to be recirculated by the pump. The water drains off the lid into the ground, especially if the fountain is a little off level. I drilled about 20 more holes near the edges of the lid, and the water now returns to the basin, and the fountain runs for hours without losing water.

Had looked for this type of fountain for years. Easily installed. Water splashed out within 40min!
Very disappointed.
Removed the unit after much research. Drilled many extra holes in lid; reinstalled - works perfectly!
Unit needs to be re-engineered. Instructions should clarify unit MUST be level; otherwise water runs over edge.

Loved the design and exactly what I wanted in a water feature. Very disappointed and perplexed when after 30 - 45 minutes the water flow stopped! After days of observation and measuring found the reservoir emptied because water was not recycled. Very frustrating!
How to solve the situation? Would love feedback on any solutions.

This is a beautiful water feature, but the execution is poor. The splash zone extends twice the width of the water reservoir, so it empties the reservoir in less than one day. Also the depression on the lid that drains the water back into the reservior is very shallow and water tends to flow over the edge and onto the ground. I put a 1/4 inch bead of caulk around the lid edge to try to hold more water in and created more drain holes, but ultimately the splashing issue still depletes the water supply too quickly. I tried slowing the flow on the "adjustable" pump hoping that would eliminate some of the splash, but there is little difference between high and low flow.
Looks great, if only it worked!

The fountain is very attractive and I am enjoying it. The negative is that it splashes a great deal and loses water quickly so it needs refilling every couple of hours when running.

This fountain is advertised as having a quick and easy installation process and it is even easier than I thought! Within 20 minutes I had the hole dug and the fountain running. It is so unusual and makes such a lovely trickling water sound. Birds like it, too! I took advantage of the "5 equal payment" plan and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
